Alien: Isolation New E3 footage

^ That looks like pure ecstasy.

I think Alien: Isolation would fail based solely on the fact that everyone knows what’s going to happen.

Only an FGC member could look past a dirty, ghetto apartment because it has an equally ghetto gaming setup and call it ecstasy…sometimes I don’t know if I should be proud or ashamed to be on these forums

And GTFO with that precog hate. Plenty of prequel games turn out to be GDLK even if we know how they end, because a game that does it’s job will have you invested in the moment more than the future outcome.

Nothing like peeling walls and a rotten living space to add to the experience.

Yea I’m being too critical of this new Alien game, but it doesn’t interest me the way “Routine” or “The Evil Within” does.

No.

The only thing we know for certain is that Ripley’s daughter doesn’t die(supposedly, for all we know that business man at the beginning of Aliens could have been full of more shit than originally thought).

There are many, many things that could possibly happen.

What we know so far is that she’s looking for her mother, she has crew mates, there are other survivors(some friendly, some not), there may be a traitor/ traitors, the environment itself will pose a problem at some point or another.

The Evil Within looks fucking incredible, but from what footage is available thus far I don’t expect it to be more RE 4.5 rather than true survival horror like what Routine is going for. Still both games will most likely be GDLK!

IGN’s playthrough of the current build is more direct, less talking more exploring the game:

I cant wait for this game.

Please don’t suck.

Even if the game doesn’t suck I expect it to be broken and buggy at launch. That’s Creative Assembly MO.

They got the look and little details down, that’s for sure, and the sound too.

I hope we get situational commentary from Ripley, you know, I want her to see an android torn in half and say something about it(probably quietly) instead of fumbling around the ship like a blind mute.

I’m fucking tired of survival horror protagonists who don’t say shit.

I don’t want to talking non-stop, because they would break immersion, but she shouldn’t be completely quite all of the time.

If the actual game play is half as GDLK as the atmopshere is shaping up to be it’ll be a serious GOTY 2014 contender. Quiet protaginists don’t bother me, but I prefer talkative ones like Isaac Clarke who became 9001 times more interesting in Dead Space 2, because he wasn’t some dumbass sheep nigga like he was in 1.

This game looks great definitely next gen.

damn that alien is big as fuq

Yeah Creative Assembly said they intentionally made him a little bigger than usual just to make him scarier, which looks like a good choice, just looking at it makes me not want to get caught by him. I wonder if there’s anything you can do to fight him or run away after he sees you.

I was asking a friend who has taken severe interest in this game about just that.
does getting spotted = instant death , or can you run for about 10 seconds making it to some sort of safespot , or can you even manage to fend it off by attacks?

we’ll c , time will tell. As i said before tho this game really does look cool. Just hoping it won’t be similar to Amnesia in the terms of just running and with no means of defense.

Watch the videos in this thread. Apparently you can craft “defensive” weapons from items you find in game, so I assume you can make things like a bomb or something that gives you a few extra seconds to run away, but Creative Assembly confirmed there will be no “lock and load moments” this is an Alien game not Alien***S***.

I’ve seen the vids. All i noticed was that wrench which i don’t see how ur gonna fight a Alien that size with. Maybe if you hit the alien in the crotch he gets sad and runs away? no jk , lol … What i would like to see is something that - for the time being while exploring the game , makes the Alien disappear. Could be a (as you say) a bomb or a grenade or something similar to that. Flashbang perhaps? And ofcourse something like that would have to come in a very limited supply/quantity. would be great

We’ve seen Ripley pick up items, but not enough to craft anything maybe that’s what you use the wrench for? Maybe you can hit the wall with the wrench to attract the Alien to that location so you can run somewhere else? I’m not sure how you can make the alien disappear it’s the ultimate hunter so it makes sense that when it sees you you’d be dead almost instantly lol.

I’d hate to see what happens when you get caught by the xenomorph.

The only problem about the game is lighting being the key element in Alien. The gameplay should revolve around the tone in the lighting. But that problem requires innovative game designing I suppose. Although, splintercell uses it with potential

Thief lighting as a key element back in 1998.
