I think I’ve figured out something from the trailer about the Space Jockeys…
At first…
[details=Spoiler] I thought the tall/ pale humanoid figure shown in a couple scnes was an android in the party, but why would an android attack its cohorts/masters? Then I realize that it’s probably a Space Jockey… but SJs were shown to look like this:

However I think it’s some kind of suit, maybe even an integrated biosuit of some sort and that the actual beings are akin to the bald humanoid shown in the trailer. Notice how the poster has a giant humanoid face and the trailer also talks about how “They went looking for our beginning…” which hints to not only a beginning of the Aliens story but also the origin of humanity and human civilization.
Allegory also comes into play since Prometheus was a Titan who gave humanity “fire”.
It may come to light that the Space Jockeys were the original progenitors of the human race and their advances in genetic engineering explains not only the origin of the xenomorphs, but the origin of us as well.[/details]

Looks like a person more than anything. Skin tone looks off, but probably could be explained by the lighting/hue of the room.

your biosuit explaination had me thinking that the giant head in the poster is probably a representation of that thing looking at the space jockey at 45secs… then i realised there’s nothing sitting in the chair, so it may be the space jockey without its suit. It even looks big enough to be the SJ

was shown with its “ribcage” exposed might have been one of the humanoid aliens who donned a suit. The alien the bursted from the SJ’s chest then eventually burrowed out of the suit. It would explain the husk-like quality of SJ corpse in the first film.
PG13? can’t expect too many scares then :lame:
According to wiki Ridley Scott will have scenes cut that are both PG-13 and R rated so studios can choose how to rate it.

It’s already been stated that the Space Jockeys are our progenitors. The movie plot is that we go to space and meet them, and we’re the first of their creations that ever managed to find them. Then we party and steal their technology and they get pissed the fuck off

Would be nice if Fox had a limited screening of the unrated cut (kind of like MI4 IMAX), then rolled out the ‘make money cut’ to general theaters a week later. But Fox is a horrible studio so not gonna happen.
