What’s wrong with them simply being bio weapons? Nothing wrong with that concept, I’ve never wanted a deeper meaning to why Xenomorphs do what they do. The idea of the Space Jockeys creating a race to wipe out inferior populations only to fall victim themselves is neat, now the Xeno species is running rampant as a wild and chaotic force with no control.
It would be like if in Resident Evil I wanted Spencer to address why he decided to make B.O.W’s when he is making bank simply on his pharmaceutical ventures. What was his meaning and purpose behind Hunters?
Answer would be he wanted to see what crazy shit would happen if he splices up Reptile and Human DNA and let it go buckwild. And to profit off of them in warfare that he never really did. Wasn’t until after the fall of Umbrella that that shit really got out.
Your imagination always does a better job of filling in the gaps. All explanations will do is be a letdown.
Nope. Agent 9’s makes similar edits but goes even further by doing more post production work its really ambitious but unfortunately the creator didnt have all the skills required to make a polished finished product. Some of the changes include- incompleted VFX shots finished, some of the scenes use the original Aliens score, if i recall some scenes were moved around, some of the promo clips used to fill in gaps in the script, I cant remember if it was this one that used the complete Ted talk as the intro instead of the Space Jockey DNA scene.
Heres the trailer for the fanedit it shows off some of the work.
Handled way better than Prometheus. It’s kind of eerie how accurate this comic was. And disappointing how much better the comic was in comparison.
I think the idea of humans encountering living Space Jockey’s is an interesting one but it was poorly executed in Prometheus. Ideally, I think it should be something like the alien abduction scene in Fire in the Sky but with Giger imagery. But that would probably be an arthouse NC-17 picture.
Yeah and it was pretty stupid, 80 year old dude in a wheelchair on life support wanting immortality and not thinking his minions will betray him like he did so many others. I wish they just left him be as a mystery figure.
Resident Evil went so far in explaining so much it got tiresome and trope heavy, very little left to you at this point. Without the looming threat of Spencer or Wesker we got terrible replacement options in RE6. At least the Revelations series has okay villains.
IMO Ridly scott already shit the bed bigtime with Prometheus, which was a gigantic disappointment, and perhaps, made one stupid decision too many to recover from.
Great cast, great ideas, story & concept with a ton of potential, and it all fell flat on its ass.
It’s not even set in the same universe! Dumbasses seriously wanted to separate things. Which is fine if that’s what they were dead-set on in their vision but, now trying to rejoin them? Pathetic. Don’t backpeddle and try to call it an Alien flick now. Might as well stay the course.
I don’t mind the backpeddling if it leads to a better product and more awareness for the film. If it is still shitty and cashing in on the Alien IP to sell easy tickets yeah shit on it then.
Hope we get some practical effects for aliens in situations where it is applicable.
The premise could go either way. I don’t know what to think. My gut say’s that it might use some elements from the Prometheus: Fire and Stone comic where a person is taken over by the black goo and leads the Aliens back to his ship to slaughter the crew in an act of revenge. I didn’t like Fire and Stone too much but that whole sequence was awesome.
And I think Prometheus can be good if you watch The Giftbearer fan-edit. It really salvages the movie and cuts out nearly all of the retarded shit that completely takes you out of the movie. It just shows that if someone paid a little more attention (either Scott, Lindeholf, whoever) you would have had a better film that wouldn’t have pissed off audiences as much.
