I know Aaron, top GG player for sure, and one of my closest friends when it comes to the GG scene…and he knows most of us already. However, we don’t know you, so rubbing some people here the wrong way isn’t exactly a good first impression, much less a good way to promote your tournament.

I appreciate what you’re trying to do rex0r but doesn’t seem like you made a good 1st impression. Callin’ AC and 3S “niche” games didn’t make me think any better either considering chicago goes strong in those games.

Are you even good at 3s? Cause the only people really good at Indy at 3s was like Chris, Gary, Dave, and Me plus a couple others.
All of us in Illinois know all/most the people from STL/Columbia that are good cause we’ve played with them many a time.
I dont wanna dog your style cause I know your decent (your best is MvC2 right???) but it aint smart to diss any of the chi players.
Oh any GG and 3s are the top games around the midwest by far with maybe MvC2 close behind. CvS2 has little scene in chicago (little bit more in Michigan). So it makes sense to run gg and 3s.

We have some amazing guilty players in missouri from andrew in columbia to aaron from st louis(millia from hell) as well as third strike, so holler in the stl thread if you would be interested. Trust me the comp is well worth the drive, and the venue is quite nice.

I’m kinda disappointed. Top players don’t necessarily make excellent tournament organizers, otherwise we would’ve had one already. Rex has my blessing for trying to start something when many of us from around here don’t even think of attempting it.
Rex has been off and on the tourney scene lately and he’s REALLY pumped about getting back into it. Old-school STL (hell, anywhere) was all about talking shit on the internet in order to get people to come down and get hyped up.
He posted all of this in our home threads too, so we all know about it and support it. Rex is trying to garner interest for all games that people might play, not JUST say 3s and AC.
Way too much assumption on this. It’s not hard. If STL were to hold a big event in the next 6 months, who here is interested in coming? Housing, venue, list of games, list of good comp in said games, is all being provided! I’m actually kinda surprised with the responses, but I suppose the only reason to not listen to him is that you’re either automatically not interested, or you don’t think he’s “for real” because nobody you’ve heard of came in and advertised it.
And please, don’t write off coming to our event just because there were misunderstandings involving it’s intial probe for interest. Please come! Listen to Rex, he’s the man concerning this one.
Please don’t ban Rex, he’s a friend of mine. Don’t assume too much about anybody, you might be wrong.
