8:00~8:30pm start would probably work best for most people, considering it’s at least a 45 min drive for me, and I’m prolly the closest of the chicago people that come. 7pm start would mean driving nearly in rush hour and most likely not even getting there on time if I left my house at 6pm. I know rush hour is like 2 cars at a stop sign in Algonquin, but out here there’s a bit more traffic to deal with on fridays. (which is why me/yosh/jose usually show up after 8pm)

We’re almost as bad (and as close) to the city as you can get. There’s too many to name but if you drive through the southside of town, all you’ll find is Mexcan Restaurants, Mexican Bakeries and Mexican Grocery Stores (No Lie!). And most of the Mexi joints around here are open 24/7. I’ve been to Elgin and found nothing short of 3 Taco Bells. Although, I did see a La Flor out there, we have one too! :tup: But I’m sure, due to the demographics in Elgin, You guys have massive taco joints. Doesn’t mean they’re TOP TIER!
But lets be honest, The topic of “Good Mexican Food” is touchy, know what I mean?
I’m going with the 8:00 start as well. I’m going to be fighting through traffic aswell and I have to wait for my buddy to come along. If it’s going to be held on this friday evening, People should know that it’s going to be a somewhat long night and be prepared to stay late as we almost always do.
as long as people don’t slack, I really can’t see the tourneys lasting more then 2 hours which should be more then ok with an 8pm start
yeah there’s room for more equipment for casuals and whatnot…I just have to ride Cliff’s ass on getting a couple more tables…we get that, and we’re buck nice.
As for the 7PM thing…I’m not changing it (because thats around when I’ll be there to set everything up), HOWEVER…it just means it’ll be casuals and shit while we wait for everyone to get there (Read, it’s the beginning of the buffer), the actual tournament should be kickin’ off at like, 8-8:30 and will run as long as it needs to. Being that I’ve run tournies before with Little snags (well…NO snags for the fighters, but some dorks at the DDR tournaments caused unnecessary resets [either you get it or you don’t]) I’m confident we’ll all have a good time, and things will be efficient.
In the case of people that are entering both tournies, and since I’m runnin’ 'em simutaneously…I’ll set up the brackets so it doesn’t end up where you have a match on both games at the same time, 'cause I can just have a different matchup happen in it’s place.

dude, there are no ghetto looking mexican places around where i live. it makes me mad. best burritos in champaign was at this tiny mexican grocery store called el charro. i miss that place. that’s where i got my jarritos, too. :tup:
