Alex: Stuff everybody should know

The problems with Stun Gun are that it’s difficult to set up properly and there are so many stupid ways to get out of it.

Personally, I’ve been experimenting with it. Honestly, I’m not fond of it, but to dick around every now and then, I’ll use Stun Gun. It’s just…too risky without enough reward.

Just gotta believe.

I’d be happy if Stun Gun were invincible on the way up and down. Thus making people actually have to think of how to get out instead of just seeing it go off and mashing jab till it breaks.

I feel like making a definitive Stun Gun video…

It was at a gamestop around here in Dayton , OH their werent any like really popular players there that I know of. … I missed that big tournament in columbus this past weekend where jwong was… I watched some of his urien… it was like only decent he coulda did something better (I used to be a urien player). I think I would had a great chance against him. Not to mention I didnt even know he played Urien??? It seemed like he really could have turned his game up like 3 more notches but what do I know?.. I had something come up… but its funny because I specialize in beating uriens , kens and dudleys. But on any other opponent I use boomerang for safety measures.

But yeah as for alex… Ive really been addicted to using S.Fierce on wakeup lately. It also leaves your ready for a buffer for a stomp <3

besides mashing jabs, most characters can just dash past it.

Yeah…I like the options Ibuki has vs. Alex’s Stungun. A well timed dash pretty much allows you to go right through it unless he uses the LP version (which is risky in itself). If you’re not sure about dashing EX dp also does a great job knocking it out.

Well…I’ve played against Justin quite a few times at tournaments and he uses just about every character in the game believe it or not. Part of getting good at the game is knowing how to deal with the other characters in the game and you get a good feel for that when you actually know how to play the character. To be good at 3S you’ll want to definitely have a good idea of how every characters works. Just cuz you use the top 3 doesn’t mean you don’t want to know the other matchups. I run a lot of random players at tournaments who use top players just because they don’t know how to use that character vs. Ibuki.

Too bad you couldn’t have gone down there to show Justin what wuz up. I can tell you now though…if you’ve never fought against him before your chances are winning are pretty slim. Unless you have the greatest mix ups with Alex since KSK himself. Even against his Urien if he was able to come out as number 1 that means he at least knows how to play as Urien and with his reactionary skills he probably just parried down everyone’s stuff and made them eat half life Aegis combos afterwards. Alex has a good matchup vs. Urien but a smart Urien (which I’m sure Justin Wong plays a strong Urien) is still no pushover.

I see im not sayign hes a pushover… but From what I saw I really didnt see anything spectacular that ive seen other Uriens do.

Yeah I have a great idea on how to fight against all the characters. But I mean I jsut specialize in pwning those three. Because the mjority of my friends who are “GOOD” use them… so Ive had a lot of play against them.

I would still love to play against and some new people in fact just for the experience.

On the topic of stuff that everybody should know, I was noodling around with Alex for the first time in a while, and realized (a DUH! moment) that the jab power bomb finishes with him much closer to the opponent than the fierce one.

I’m guessing that mixing wake-up UOH and Short Spiral DDT is not that great in high level play since they’re AFAIK both SRK bait, but it really looks like they were made for that considering that they feature fairly similar animations and start times and do complement each other.

Yes the weaker the punch used for power bomb the less distance it is to travel back to the opponent. And no the UOH and DDT weren’t made to complement each other. Though you can use DDT to beat throws.

DDT -> Throws . Its also a pretty good wake up option if your opponent doesnt expect it in corner game.

Stick to jab Power Bomb unless you’re psychic enough and know that your opponent is going to blcck. Jab Power Bomb has 7 frames of startup and actually outranges strong and fierce Power Bomb.

DDT beats throws…but use it like, maybe once every 10 matches or something like that. The thing is too easy to see.

You can super off of meaty UOH if you’re using Boomerang Raid, BTW.

after a Jab Power Bomb what’s the best way to follow up? (if you’re out in the open and/or push them to the corner)

Try and stay close, but not too close. Ty said it before: Alex is scariest just outside of normal throw range. Keep in that range and test your opponent. See what he’ll do.

don’t work 100% on shotos …SHORYUKEN !~

for powerbombs . after knockdown the opponent , dash and whiff standing strong then jab powerbomb :stuck_out_tongue: .

Yo yo yo! Don’t give up on that dream man.

I’m currently working on it. But’s it’s turned into a RANDOM ALEX SHIT video.

Expect headbutts.

ShinAkumax Random Alex headbutts

all good to know! hmm I gotta make it up to FFA sometime…would go up this weekend…but my day off was changed to an 8 hour day!:annoy: bah…maybe next weekend! anyway cr. mk or cr. mp? which is better?

c.MP. Stuffs out other pokes pretty well and has a larger hit area. c.MK is nice cuz it hits low but it doesnt’ lead to anything. c.MP doesn’t really lead to anything either and can be blocked/parried high or low but it’s ability to just stuff things the hell out when you anticipate them is good. c.MK does have its uses though. I use c.LK more often though.

Please do… I was thinking about working on it. If your still doing it I have a couple stups that actually DO! work for stun gun on block.

Yeah its funny , lol “You cant escape - Uppercut!”

c.mp has 2 bad things . the slow start up is still fine .
the other 1 is the slow recovery >_<;; .

c.mp > chunnies and dudley’s footsie random whiffing games .

alex’s only defensive attack is c.mp .
