I would dig a trailer to just see him moving around. Get an idea of walk speed, dash speed, dash animation, walk animation, ect ect. Just to know more of what we’re about to get into. And if they end the trailer with a “SONIC BOOOM!” sound bite from Guile ill happily lose my mind…but its capcom…so they prob wont… :c
A trailer including any sort of Guile footage or sound bytes would require even a portion of the character to be in development, let alone complete. Alex probably won’t even have working moves until halfway through June. They can start on Guile then.
Theres no two ways about it. The Alex DLC promotion period is fucking dead. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and shoehorn Guile trailers into every Capcom Pro Talk/ Tournaments until it’s release.
and all grapplers don’t all play like Zangeif. We already know their intent is for his V-skill to help his grappling…somehow. We also don’t know his frame data so I don’t know where you’re pulling that number from. Most of his moves are throws, his striking one combos into one, and we even lost his two non grappling specials.
Also it may help you guys to know that so far all throws…normal or command have a 5 frame startup w/ no invincibility (only EX is safe against throws) thats what makes the jab so powerful in this game.
Alex in the past has been a character that can with either through strikes or throws(or both ) I imagine he will have effective normals in terms of frames this time around.
EDIT: @Slizzard the jab and normal priority will be present with all characters until frames change.
We don’t know if his headbutt special is actually a real throw, or a Nash Tragedy Assault esque “hit throw” where you can combo into it and hits things like armor, but is blockable. (just like 3s b+hp).
Really depends how good powerbomb is. People tell you to not expect him to be a real grappler because he was never really played like one, and frankly he doesn’t really sound like a grappler even here to me.
Stomp and Slash Elbow. People have noticed his v trigger special kinda works like it in theory, I wanna check out the framedata and compare on release.
Hey, if they let his V Trigger mirror EX Slash Elbow it won’t be so bad! ex slash x super was one of his biggest punishes off of a bunch of things in 3s because it had a 10f startup + distance it traveled, if v trigger also has a good startup he could probably punish a blocked sweep with v trigger x st.mk x CA or something like that
Might be what they’re aiming for if they don’t let him special/super cancel off of a midranged move like cr.mk or something
Yeah and to describe more what bronn was saying… They mixed his DDT and B+Hp… SO now he hops forward(through projectiles) and headbutts them. At the moment we don’t know if its a hit throw of a standing grab.
Well, I played Claw in USFIV and everything that I want Alex to have is a good set of AAs. Is he known for it? Or he struggled in that department in other games too?
3s AAs were okay, but y’know, parries and all that.
depends on what command normals he gets to keep (f+mp/f+hp) and if st.mp/cr.hp are the same. He had a bunch of different AAs for different situations, so it wasn’t a big deal.
EX Knee SRK was pretty good despite parry, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be good here.
We take it in turns to act as sort of an executive officer for the week, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special biweekly meeting—by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a two thirds majority in the case of more major policy decisions.
I’m willing to bet Alex’s Crush Headbutt is not a hit-grab. It’s replacing DDT as his ranged throw firstly, and secondly, DDT was really situational. I’d expect them to have to make it better than DDT if they’re going to make Alex competitive. Nash’s hit-throw for instance is really only useful to combo into. It’s not a huge loss for Nash since he has plenty of other options, but in Alex’s move list it would feel pretty gimped.
Edit: Also that comic though! haha! Alex looks so derpy in the third-to-last panel. It’s perfect.
