The problem isn’t the issue of Alex coming out in a later part of the month, it’s Capcom’s apathetic attitude and complete lack of information regarding the (supposedly, heh) upcoming release, all following what has been almost universally received as a legendarily abysmal launch period. We all knew going in that we’d be getting a release that was effectively an incomplete game (although more casual players who bought in without that knowledge will be justifiably mortified), but that understanding was paired with the expectation that Capcom would be going in guns-blazing with support for it.
It’s been a bit over a month now, the online play is still garbage, and we even have DC’s causing problems at offline tournaments on multiple occasions. So what little we do have doesn’t even work, and Capcom’s response has been effectively nothing but darkness. They even trolled the playerbase for rightfully wanting information on the upcoming content.
It’s really been awfully handled all throughout, and while I love the actual fighting that goes on in the game itself, I don’t think it’ll end up being surprising to anyone except the suits at Capcom if SFV ends up leaving a bad enough taste that the franchise and its community returns to obscurity. The real question is how long players are willing to hold out hope for things to get better before they just give up on the game completely.
21st of March, still no trailer/date for the update. Not that we’ll need one anymore after NCR, since there’ll be only 4 days left of March.
I guess we won’t get him on a Friday right? Just one left and it’s at the start of NCR. So my guess is the following Tuesday (29) or the 31st.
“We need new trailer for Alex. WE NEED NEW TRAILER FOR ALEX !” -Infiltration. 2016 <3
At this point a trailer almost feels redundant… might as well just release alex.
I dont need a trailer if I can play him the next day tbqh… that obviously is only if the march update is indeed still a march update and not an april update, which could very well be the case considered that capcom had to shove in netcode fixes after launch instead of tweaking the march patch
What the fuck is this shit? Jesus Christ, Capcom are the fucking worst. March is nearly over and we don’t even have a trailer yet they have the audacity to shit-post comments like this? Seriously fuck these guys, it’s not like we’ve been waiting nearly 20 years for Alex to be in a mainline SF game. Jackasses.
Let’s say we ignore the shit post by Capcom’s own twitch channel, they fucking trolled an entire event and the tens of thousands of people watching on the stream by teasing an Alex trailer only to laugh it off and play Rashid’s theme. What fucking morons do they have working over there that think this was a good idea? That’d we’d be fine with it? They’ve launched the game in one of the worst states in FG history and they have the *balls * to troll the fans? The one’s who are still here waiting for you to deliver on the promises you made months ago?
I think I can safely give a massive fuck you to Capcom. They’ve fucked up massively with this game and shit like this is the going to do the exact opposite of getting our trust back.
So am I dude. Whoever at Capcom thought the fans would be OK with this shit is fucking retarded.
I don’t think they had planned to tease it. Infiltration put them on the spot because he wants to see it as bad as any other guy and they were caught off guard.
Though a good point that may be, Capcom have to be morons to troll thousands of people like that and not expect anyone to be furious. If they didn’t have anything then they shouldn’t have said anything. It’s as simple as that.
caught off guard?! How is the fans expecting an alex trailer at final round “caught off guard”? Fans expect it ever since there was none at Cannes Winter Brawl, they said there would be a march update and there is still not even a date even though it was the 20th of march already.
I dont think “caught off guard” is the right terminology.
Even if they hadnt planned for anything at FR, stepping up and atleast telling the fans to be patient until NCR would have been a better approach instead of trolling everyone.
It’s supposed to be a march update and there is basically no PR going on for it.
Wouldnt be surprised if casuals dont even know there’s going to be an update somewhere the next 10 days(!!!).
Trailer on the 27th after SFV Top 8 at NCR with a release on the 29th is looking the most likely at the moment. Can’t say I’m happy about it, but as long as I get to play Alex this month I’ll be somewhat satisfied.
It’s a little bit of both for me. We’re long overdue for an update and the silence from Capcom is deafening right now. The trolling is just the cherry on a really big shit cake hand-made by Capcom.
