if they run away especially to a corner u need to act like R. Mika. Use your Vskill for the perfect hit. Go in carefully. corner = disadvantage in SFV. Lariat = GG in corner.
I’m not the best player ever, but just recognize what “should” be happening even if it doesn’t happen in match. Try to prepare better next time.
St.lp and cr.hp all day son. We have anti-airs trust me, cr.hp beats moonsault for free as well.
Walk him to the corner and he’s defenceless, once he pops v-reversal walk him to the other side of the screen. Utilize l.chops ability to neuter fireballs in the neutral because Nash’s start up sucks you can see them coming a lot easier. Cr.hp his moonsaults and St.lp anti airs into meaty grounded pressure to keep him pinned. Nobody online is Infiltration levels of godlike so they should all have a rhythm/exploit you can take advantage of. I don’t actually know Nash’s frame data yet so I can’t give tips in footsies without knowing it…somebody else will have to cover that.
If you’re playing Keepaway Nash just walk. forward. And keep your cool, don’t start jumping impatiently. I cannot stress that enough.
Alex outranges nash in footsie for the most part. And of course nash has no wakeup so meaty punish time for u. And of course if it comes down to it, headbutt him. You can be fullscreen too.
I don’t know man, don’t mean to be a whiner but st. lp is really not cutting it for me. the timing and spacing for it changes radically from character to character and for each jumping move too. A few minutes ago I played 2/3 against a ken who kept jumping over and over again just throwing shit out, so I started trying to AA with st. lp. The outcome felt very randomized most of the time. Knee keeps getting stuffed and st.lp does very little to actually change the pace of the match.
Are you having success with it? I’m being all doom and gloom cause’ it ain’t fun getting bodied when you get to play like twice a week for a couple of hours
All in all i’m a little miffed about his current toolset. I do believe he’s mid tier based on lots of factors, but mainly that one mixup can mean stun for him, and coupled with v-skill you get crazy good positioning and damage. The downside of that is that you have to be ON POINT with this character 100% of the time. One missed AA attempt and it’s your ass.
Yeah I feel I have an answer for every thing she does, chun and cammy are the real problems. I had some issues with a really good bison I played as well
This dude sucks. His Jab anti-air is not consistent. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Why is LP Powerbomb 6 frame startup? Why doesn’t Air Stampede crossup? He’s like a worse Necalli. Necalli can’t really get in without dashing or timing a jump but at least he has a meter-less Reversal, he has a great super, and his overhead is relatively fast and CC’s. Plus Necalli’s V-Skill stops fullscreen fireballs. Frylock can’t do that, he HAS to be at around three quarters screen distance and he HAS to use EX.
And if any numbnut crawls out of the wood work and be like “Oh, the Jab AA is the bestest in the world.” No. You’re wrong. It’s not consistent. The hitbox doesn’t stay out long enough unlike Gief’s Jab AA. And there’s almost no threat when he knocks you out of the air because the damage is ass, his MP has too much startup, his Powerbomb has too much startup, and his damage from a Jab into Flashchop is literally nothing.
Buff this dude. Give him his HGH so he can appear in Rambo 5 and kill ISIS.
Better hitbox on the lariat, make it like Dicktator’s down HP. Slightly more damage for BNB’s. 5 frame LP Powerbomb same with my dude Necalli, just give him a 5 frame command grab. Better crossup. And let the Stampede crossup. Done. instantly better character.
I agree but vskill recovery is already pretty good, esp. compared to someone like Mika. I don’t think we’re gonna get a buff there unless he just has like a 0% winrate and capcom has to do something drastic.
It would be funny if he got it again, it would turn him into Hakan XD
I don’t know man. Unless you are talking about safe jumps, St. Lp is almost as good of an anti air as it gets. I’ve been grinding out matchups and anti airs are not a problem as alex. If they are jumping from far, cr.HP. Everything else, st.LP. If it’s a cross up, time it right.
Seriously?
Ok, so you’ve got 8 posts in 15 days.
1st crying about how bad Mika is.
2nd crying about Marn.
3rd crying about how Alex has made Mika irrelevant.
4th continue to cry about how much Alex has made Mika irrelevant.
5th crying about how bad Alex is.
6th attempt to sound like you’re not dumb - it failed.
7th crying about how bad Alex is again.
8th telling the SFV lounge how bad SFV.
Yeah, you’re really not worth paying attention to.
Are you Kidhero?
If you use f.hp in the corner as an anti-air and get crush counter it leads into anything on juggle, it’s one of Alex’s only ways to threaten an immediate air reset mix-up outside of double st.hk.
EDIT**
Also fuck Rashid’s l.spinning mixer online, I can never time my fucking st.lp after he does it and he counter hits me with st.lk every time. So annoying.
Salty Vega online mad that his walldive gimmicks don’t work, lol.
Invited me to a lobby FT5, 3-0’d and he left AHAHA
ANOTHER EDIT**
Someone found something interesting in the tech thread. Alex can dash > elbow somehow, but I can’t imagine it’s purposely implemented charge partitioning…right?
Right?
Someone help me test this, if we can dash elbow our ground game gets a hell of a lot better.
Since there’s no video thread, can I post this here? I made an Alex basics video. Probably nothing anybody here doesn’t know yet, but it’s a basics video, after all.
