Awesome so excited to see such interest in cvs2.
I will be bringing a reaaallly sketchy olf ps2 and a copy of cvs2. My friend will be bringing a ps2 and a copy of cvs2 as well. Bokchoy if you or someone you know could find a tv that would be awesome as it will be quite difficult for me to get one to edmonton. However, if you can only bring a ps2 with cvs2 that would still be great. I canât wait to see everyone there. I intend to drive up on saturday, i may have to leave at noon but hopefully I can leave sooner and be there early in the afternoon.
this goes out to the sask cats, please donât take offense to some of the things said on this forum, we would love for you guys to come out, just to have a good time, donât feel pressure that you have to perform and just have fun.

Hey, so howâs this team tourny working exactly anyways?
Is every team going to play each other or is it going to be a standard single elimination bracket?
One way I think would be interesting would be to do a round robin and record how many members of each team gets eliminated by the other team.
For instance, say Team A beats 3 members of Team B while Team B beats all 5 members of Team A.
Team A get 3 points and Team B get 5 points.
Then whoever has the most points at the end of the round robin wins.
I think thatâd be an interesting way to do the team tourny and a way for everybody to play each other.
You know, with all these random teams that are popping up it might not be possible to do the 5 on 5âs are get them all done.
is it really necessary to have 2 ed teams and 2 calgary teams? The idea sounds fun but when you think of how long this is really going to be, it just doesnât make any sense.
Also sask has mentioned that they straight up donât want to play for money. Van has yet to say weather or not they are entering.
In terms of how this should be ran. Jons idea of doing pokemon style would work best, atleast then weâd be able to fit it into the time constraints we have at the hall. I plan to close the hall on the first day at 11 if i can get away with it.

Seconded, pay if you wanna play, Casuals are for the free. $50 keeps in tune with the $10 entry fee for the rest of the tourneys. $100 would be nice since running the brackets for 5v5 will be hellish to say the least.
Are we getting in on Fri? I need to finalize how you want the SF4 stuff run (the stuff I will be helping you with), and obviously figure out the setup for my rig, and see if we can magic up some space for the PS2/PC rigs that are coming down next to it. My Fri evening is clear so I can come down and help you guys get everything in there and all that jazz.
5 on 5âs are exhibition matches and the money is what keeps them interesting, imo. At best we have 6 teams entering [2 edmonton, 2 calgary, 1 vancouver, 1 sask - maybe] and if we are concerned about time constraints we do single elimination pokemon style like it should be and itâll go by quickly. Especially if there are OCVâs.
Any team that wants to act like a bitch and not put up money shouldnât have the right to enter the 5 on 5âs. Seriously, if another city has issues putting up $10 per person after driving/flying down and staying at a hotel then whatâs another $10 going to do. Donât enter if you donât like it. Plain and simple.
Casual matches are boring b/c nothing is a stake. If out of towners come down the first day and get eliminated with the 2 vs 2s I mean what r they gonna do the rest of the day? Its gonna be 12 hrs long!! Playing casuals for the rest of the remaining time is kinda dumb lol. And if we got 6 teams the pot will be $600 bucks if it was $20 per person. Risking $20 to win $120 is awsome, unless you think your team isnât going to win at all then I understand why you wouldnât pay a $20 entry.
