Is it just me or does nobody use teleport? I forgot all about this move and I just realized I have never seen it mentioned in a post, written in a FAQ, Included in a vid, used in a match, or even spoken about as a bad move.
It DOES exist doesn’t it? I don’t have some screwy game version do I?
So Anywhoo, I was just wondering if this move is crap - hence why nobody uses it, or are we just all idiots who have forgotten that the move exists?
Sidenote: Although the CPU is crap, he seems to find some very nifty uses for it Offensively and Defensively… think about that.
i’ve seen people use it…most of the time it’s to lure you out…
someone corned me once and he did the teleport thing while i was getting up…and i thought i could grab him out of it so i tried…and he teleported back into the same spot and kept rushing me down more…
but i guess what you can do is use it to get out of corner traps…or run up and try to lure out supers…
It obviously has it’s uses. I’m just wonderin why there aren’t HUGE threads discussing it. I haven’t seen anything on it anywhere. Just trying to spark some idea’s. THINK PEOPLE. What can this move do for YOU!?
Well it has a few uses… For example some moves cayou can cancel your frame recovery frames if you perform a special/super move. So for example you can small jump, teleport away. Use his dive kick, teleport away, etc etc, you get the point. Or just to escape the corner, but it’s uses are very limited due to it’s recovery time.
teleport into raging demon is pretty cool
u just have to end up at the right place
some people fall for it and try to poke u late in the recovery
if its too late…they eat the raging demon
When you have them in the corner and you wanna mix that shit up, knock 'em down and wait for the wake-up, or just the raw retaliation, teleport towards them against the wall and B&B that shit. Think about it. Normally, teleporting is slow to recover, but when you hit the wall with a teleport he comes out of it really quickly, making them so victimizable. Try it it’s pimp!
I use K Akuma, and I use the teleport to mix up my rush down…once i have them in the corner, i do the using run up d.lp tactic, then run up and then teleport to the other side to combo him, or raging demon or whatever.
I also use it as a random psych out tactic when i’m a full screen away, i teleport backwards with either punch or kick (since they go at different speeds), and sometimes teleport forward when it’s safe…basically using it similar to Rolento’s command movements and Blanka command hops (though the teleport is MUCH slower), so you can’t abuse it as much as the other moves.
PokesYOU:
actually, teleporting INTO the corner is one of the most effective uses of it.
Also when in the corner I find hazing to be a good annoyer. If you don’t know what hazing is it is when Akuma is the corner and he teleports backwards not going anywhere and making a hazy shilloette and confusing the opponent then either doing Raging Demon, lk Hurricane Kick, DP, or block.
Oddly enough, some poeple use Chang…very well I might add. Some guys switch up highs and lows and make him a very hard character to get close to. His “swinging ball attack” is yet another barrier to overcome. Firstly, because it can be stopped at will. And secondly, because it acts as a brick wall to a lot of normal and special moves. To waste time and stop a good rush, many Chang players will do a long swing attack. This my friends is your opportunity. To a rookie, this is the chance to throw a hot fireball. But to his surprise, Chang’s swinging ball attack cancels out fireballs and a lot of Akuma’s other moves. Your opponent will often begin to laugh in your face. You could try a super fireball, but it’s kinda slow. So, here comes your opportunity to show a little skill. Here’s a trick I found a while ago.
First, you need to have a little rhythm. Second, if the machine you’re on has decent volume, listen for the whiffs( the gusts of air coming off of the speed of the ball). Third, from about Kick Teleport distance, (KK) teleport into the attack. Note: The final keystroke (KK) of the teleport should be done ~simulatneously with the whiff. Next, start the commands for the Raging Demon once you’ve passed half of the initial distance between you and Chang. Finally, input the last part of the Raging Demon (Fierce Punch) when you’ve just about settled from the teleport. The ball should be around he back at this point. If memory serves me correctly, it should also coincide with a whiff. Note: Execute the commands for the Raging Demon at a relatively normal speed. If you do it too fast, the R.D. won’t register and Chang’s ball will bust your head wide open. If you do it too slow, then a Fierce punch will result. You’ll most likely get hit because Fierce punches don’t have a frame of invincibility.
It takes a little practice, but it works like a charm. If done correctly, you will have broken through Chang’s barrier and given him a very rude awakening (that is…when he gets his big ass off of the ground)!! Rookies, if present, will freak!! And your opponent’s mouth may also drop. He knows that your teleport takes away your ability to instantly block at the end of the teleport and that you must settle for a few frames in order to defend yourself. By that time the ball WILL HIT YOU!!. That’s why he won’t stop the attack prematurely like he would for a level 1 or 2 super fireball. But that’s going to be his biggest mistake because what he doesn’t know is that the timing of the whiff and the teleport will allow you to release THE DEMON , totally unscathed!!
I don’t know how often you’ll get to use this little trick, but a good Akuma player should know how to use it if the opportunity should arise.
Well, my friend. Too a “pro” like you, the original post might have been redundant. I’ll admit it isn’t the epitome of a great tactic, but there are still a lot of people out there that are relatively new to CVS2 that would like to find out things about a favorite character (Akuma). My little post was written primarily for them. But thanks for the indirect insult. It was actually a high level of sarcasm. Pretty good stuff. Did you take a course? Obviously, you’ve never come across a good Chang or you wouldn’t speak so ignorantly. Of course you wouldn’t come across someone exclusively using the ball attack. That would be a scrub!! But if you did, that would be one way to dispose of them. But for an excellent Chang in a run groove, the ball attack might be one of few openings for retaliation. If you ever come across a tounament level Chang (ratio 3 or 4) that effectively stops a rush down and then implements one of his own you’ll change your tune. Yeah bud, they’re out there. Get some more exposure before you expose us to your typographical diarrhea next time, okay?
Oh here’s something else you can learn from shoryuken:
Your sarcasm sucks a$$.
Criticize this one too, it seems to be your M.O.
kcxj, why do you have to be such and ass? not everyone here practice all day everyday like you or tries to learn little thing about the game. It’s not like he was posting spam, which your post is (and mine right now is bordering that).
Goukito was just posting something that not everybody might know, and if you know it, good for you. Don’t go complaining/flaming people about it.
People from London are extremely good at flaming posts too. We are all good at something, you for example stereo type canadian people and no we dont say “eh”.
So you stereotype Canadians because u met a few rude ones? hmmm… and we cant help it if were new, we have to make new posts to learn more. Most of us will realize how dumb our posts are when we get better.
Please excuse my inappropriateness for complaining about my personal issues in the previous post. My bad. I take it all back.
What I really should of said was that I wouldn’t stereotype Canadians so much if only your threads didn’t make me dumber by the minute everytime I clicked one of them.
its a fantastic move pals.you know why?youve got a guy cornered and hes gonna try and strike you as soon as he gets up,what to do?teleport behind him and throw or combo him.you also may want to teleport to the end of screen(opposite your opponent) to escape from sneak attacks and special moves
After a knockdown, a lk hurricane kick is the ultimate whiff. You can distance yourself so it becomes ambiguous as to which side you’ll fall on. And the recovery isn’t shabby at all. As usual, mix up with lp into dp or RD.
As a b&b, use c.lp, c.lk, sweep xx hurricane kick. It’s a great way to never let off the pressure, whether they eat it or block it.
When you’re in the corner yourself, use it as a dodge (like s-groove) by teleporting into the same corner. W00T! L33Tness abounds.
Using it when the opponent is corner is cool too (already mentioned). Meaty air FB, teleport behind them, then throw or d.LK, or RD, or LK hurricane, or RC, or tele-dodge, blah blah…
Other than that, all I can see is using it for escape purposes or to make distance.
