Akatsuki BLITZKAMPF - PC Thread (1131sp1) - Its still playable!

Thanks Nekich.

Thank you very much Nekich that fixed my problem completely.

When I played online before I had a massive problem with framerate that I couldn’t figure out how to fix. Offline I had no troubles at all, it always ran at 60FPS. However when I played online it became very choppy, skipped frames, and was practically unplayable. Like it was sometimes so bad I could do Marilyn’s 214A and see the first frame and it would freeze then suddenly I’m on the last frame. It was incredibly frustrating because it felt like a slide-show, which with a fighting game like this is just stupid.

Now I set up my options like this http://www.justnopoint.com/~xenoblip/tmp/myblitz.png

And I know the second to last option was causing the problem “frame skip”. I disabled that and now netplay runs very very smoothly. Significantly more smooth than before.

imma cop this tonight.
man the fix is stupid in the sense that akat wasn’t nerfed and anonym got played
HEY MASTER CHIBI: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

but for me im happy that kanae got buffed up (to me at least)

-236+B+C damage -150pts; -22+B+C damage +200pts per hit; -22+B+C (the 236+B+C follow up) damage +200ptssince i usually always have meter for the follow up.

yet another myc vid =/ (113)

Mytuki threw up his 4972972th combo vid/clip for Mycale. Involves some very painful combos using 22b+c.

Made here a translated config.exe for 1.1.3.1. As previously said, couldn’t get to all the strings with ResHack, but it works. Just don’t forget to set the compatibility stuff in “properties”.

This is a note for the upcoming tourney as well as netplay in general. The best settings we’ve found thus far are:

  • Delay 4
  • Frameskip OFF
  • VSync ON

The delay is set in the online part within the game itself. To set frameskip and vsync, open the config.exe (set to Win2K compatibility mode if it doesn’t start up), click on the 2nd tab on the bottom row. There will be two checkboxes at the bottom. The first one is frameskip, leave this UNCHECKED. The second one is vsync, which needs to be CHECKED. With these settings, the game is playably smooth halfway across the country; unfortunately, beyond that the game will start to lower FPS to compensate for the lag.

Regarding that, this picture might help http://www.justnopoint.com/~xenoblip/tmp/myblitz.png

The last two checkboxes are the ones you want. That has frameskip OFF and vsync ON.

Also in-game you should turn backgrounds to low quality. And after that if you still get frame drops then you might need to set a little higher delay setting like 5 or 6.

stares at the last 2 posts
so, um, the translated config.exe didn’t help?

They fucked up nun even more?

Nitpick

run fullscreen and run windowed should be reversed.

–run windowed
–run fullscreen

btw thanks for that info. It’s much better than reading ??? and ^$&^#BSHKL.

New Kohatsu vids:

Fritz vs Soldat
Kanae vs Akatsuki
Marilyn vs Fritz

FINALLY some fuckin’ Aka.

Get hype for Dat Blitzen

YOOOOOOOOOOO.

It’s that time meine Freunde!!! (Yeah, i looked that up). DAT BLITZEN Netplay Tourney starts…TODAY! At approximately 5pm (EST) today, the Soldiers of Mizuumi will round up for an all-out Blitz Brawl. :nunchuck:

11 soldiers will be tossed into an IRC pit with nothing but their peripherals to defend them. The last one who manages to crawl out from the depths of Helheim will be crowed DAT BLITZEN MEISTER.

Catch a dose of that second-hand hype and marvel (via text) at the tales of many upsets and victories to come.

Heil, bitchez

More information HERE.

oh sure, put me in the same bracket as rithli.

:annoy:

Get Dat Netplay Skillz!

…would you like to be in the same bracket with ME. :badboy:

Also, learning is kuwl:

Helheim

Apparently, this is impossible for those that enter Helheim because “No one can ever leave this place, because of the impassable river Gjoll that flows from the spring Hvergelmir and encircles Helheim. Once they enter Helheim, not even the gods can leave”.:wow:

Not as detailed or nicely done as Rithli and Zar’s Wei vid, sadly, but here’s basic Soldat combos. I have enough material to do a Sol tute at some point in the future, though.

Also, current brackets in the tourney, complete with artifacting

Several new netplay casual replays have been posted onto the community YouTube account.

The control display was turned on for the first rounds of these matches for viewing pleasure.

From the results of numerous sessions of netplay, the overall quality of it (in terms of connection speeds, fps rates, and lag), unfortunately, seems to have dropped noticeably from the new patch. I’m unsure how that is so, but we’re hoping for a better alternative to be developed in the near future.

Or something.

So is the netplay better all of a sudden now or what

Netplay Hack for 1.1.3.1 SP1

Akatsuki Netplay Nethack developed by mauve:
If you want it, connect to: irc.mizuumi.net and join channel #akatsuki

Well apparently, the near future comes sooner than you think, as a nethack that vastly improves the original netplay for Blitzkampf has been released. (Big & gigantanormous Kudos to mauve for taking his time to do this). The .zip file includes a hacked .exe and a readme file that is composed of directions and changes applied by mauve to make this thing work.

For those that won’t bother reading the readme file, Here’s how it works:
1. Unzip the contents of the archive
2. Copy the nethack .exe file into your Akatsuki folder
3. Open the nethack .exe file and connect like you would with the regular netplay

There’s a few key things that should be known. First of all, the nethack will only work with people using the nethack. Also, this nethack only works for version 1.1.3.1 SP1. It should also be kept in mind that mauve has no intentions of doing this for the following patches (because he pretty much had to decipher the whole netcode, figure out what does what, and tear it apart to make it function as well it does now). However, if you want to discuss things, (or if you just want to find people to try the nethack with) feel free to drop by the #akatsuki channel on the mizuumi irc server.

So… have fun all you nazi guys and nazi gals.
