you know what, fuck this game. i don’t need to be wasting my time on this garbage, and barring something AMAZING happening, im definitely not renewing my subscription once my free month is up.
so what brought on this sudden nerdrage you ask? it’s a combination of many things, but mostly because i finally accepted the fact that the pve in this game is just as bad as its pvp.
i tried to do Hold the Front Line today since my playtime will be kinda limited, and i was the only one to die because i tried to save other people who were going to die. it wasn’t even a shitty group; youre supposed to kite the last wave of mobs around because you can’t kill them, some squishy got hit with a snare and i died for trying to pull it off him. i’m fine with dying to help the team, im NOT fine with not getting any credit for the quest, and apparently all the other people who finish it can’t help you. fuck you game, my bad for being a team player - next time ill just afk in the back. better anyways if everyone wipes, right?
ok, fine stop whining and just redo the quest right? no big deal. well it’s all the way in the back of the stupid mist mane area, which means you have to run through pretty much EVERY SINGLE FUCKING elite mob to get there. my heart sinks (and my weewee shrinks) whenever i think of having to go back there, GOOD GROUP or no. it seriously takes like 2 hours to run through that shit, assuming you skip what you can.
every single elite mob has some retarded ability that WASTES YOUR TIME. whether it’s a “block all damage for x seconds” shield, an uninterruptable self heal for half hp, or just randomly running around, every elite mob does something whose only purpose is to make you spend more time doing the same thing you were doing for the last 3 minutes. it’s not actually any harder or more interactive than killing a normal mob, its just more time-consuming. in fact, the whole process of “group leveling” is fairly non-interactive. it’s not like you hav to be paying attention since you can’t interrupt elite mob skills anyways, and your character doesn’t really interact with other characters much (think skillchains for ffxi), so youre just pressing the same buttons you do when sololing except many, many more times. some classes occasionally get to target something else, CC it…and then go back to the same routine. i used to macro my entire skill rotation to 1 button, but i stopped doing that just so i could press some more buttons and not die of boredom.
it’s so bad that groups will skip what they can even when they are in the area to LEVEL OFF THE SAME ELITES THAT THEY SKIP.
hey ncsoft, wanna know why people bot? because your pve content fucking sucks. grinding is and will always be the best way to level in terms of exp/time spent, too bad its BORING AS SHIT.
i don’t want instant gratification, but after doing a bunch of real work, i’d kinda like my game to be fun. fun work is ok too! but boring work, kinda like the stuff i just finished so i could play a game, is NO GOOD.

everything in this game is just so damn tedious, group or solo it doesn’t matter. it’s like, i want to go dual wield, i want the quest reward, but i think of going through the whole mistmane village and then my hype just dies like million knights vermillion a week after release. then i go post lengthy crap on forums.
I wonder if this game will fare better than conan, warhammer, etc.
People are always so excited to get away from WoW that they think every new game is the second coming of christ.
I might check it out eventually tho. I tend to be turned off by games that don’t have an aggro system though. They feel pretty stupid and random compared to wow.

recovery isn’t interruptable, but it is silenceable.
Silence it just before or during recovery and then slap on all your -healing debuffs as silence ends. I know clerics get one early, rangers got theirs at 37
ofc temp iron skin is a pain in the ass, but they use it at 50% or 25% anyway. Not like it’s using it at 10% just to piss you off. Silence stuffs it out too

today’s tidbit of awesome: jumping across floating islands with lag. once again korean games prove to be a battle of computer hardware and internet connection.
anyways im 1 level and a half to 40, which is when the game (supposedly) stops being a piece of shit.

and you all have the $10 champ edition wings, i have the normal wings so my flight time is a lot less
i stand by my statement though, flight system needs reworking (cant go into flight mode from glide, random no fly zones especially in areas with inescapable pits, cant recharge flight faster by resting, z-axis targeting is wack = ggpo melee). failing that, id love it if they took the whole system out altogether :party:
besides, the game is also advertised as a “westernized” rpg (aka not a Korean grinder) and we all know how well that worked out!
