[Aion: Online]

yeeep, then again nooooope, as I don’t really want to play MMOs anymore, for my free time is raped hella hard.

It’s fun to fly around towns and such, and you can even glide if you want, but PvP goes to another level when you start fighting in the air. I’ve seen videos of high level PvP where an assassin would fly high to be out of view and then come down and gank others.

I had considered playing Aion and had a beta key as well as guild set up with some people I met during the close betas, but I don’t have the time to put into this game.

i’m gonna get in on this. my friend keeps talking about it, and i want to try something other than WoW.

Open beta sounds good

Open beta is free? If so, I’ll definitely be up on that joint, alongside the SRK crew. Someone heal me!

Yeah.

Are you Raelie from WoW?

If so, lol small world. Where is Buddhist and why are we not all in vent?

Of course I am. Fuck year, Rogue forums unite!

And I dunnolol, I tried to get Buddhist in vent and he wouldn’t get on.

I played closed beta and I liked it but I’m worried about this game because it looks like it’s just a WoW clone in terms of gameplay design…

How good is the PvP in the game? One of my Favorite MMO’s was Dark Age of Camelot and I loved being a Stealth class.

which brings me to my next question…

How good are Assassins?

I preordered from Amazon but haven’t received by pre order key yet. Anyone else having issues?

Shit, since when did you play FGs? Crazy.

“WoW clone” is probably the worst comment to make on any MMO. Especially this, since WoW is a ‘copy’ of Lineage II formula, they just tweaked it. But that’s what ALL MMOs do. Take bits and pieces of MMOs and tweak it.

So don’t worry, it’s still good. How far did you get in closed beta, by the way? End-game starts to shine.

PvP is pretty sick so far, and Assassins are really good right now.

There’s PvP videos out there of KOR tournaments, but they play with strict rules. What some consider to be very ‘gimped’ style PvP. A king of the hill style 1v1 of sorts. I’m not completely familiar with the ruleset, but here’s a gist of it. Obviously favoring Gladiators and Templars heavily forcing everyone to just run away during cooldowns and attempt to slowly win in long-term due to physical burst they’re capable of.

Thanks for the great info man!

You’re welcome.

Honestly, these KOR tournaments seem slow and very uneven. Reminds me of Brawl tournament rules. Hahaha.

So take this, and videos like these, with a grain of salt. I’m just showing you what a good Assassin with proper Skill Chain and Lockdown is capable of.

The Cleric in the beginning is actually a good player, but he takes all his gear off, haha.

For a while now! I remember the post I made on the Rogue forums… ‘What fighting games do you like?’

“…God of War.”

How are Chanters doing in terms of PvP? It was my favorite class besides Gladiator.

They’re pretty sick, they have a tough time against Sorcerors only pretty much. They can heal though, so it’s not as bad as Sorceror vs Gladiator.

They also stun like fucking mad, and are pretty much untouchable for durations at a time with some of their reduction buffs.

Another video from the same KOR Tournament. Seems to be the only true end-game PvP videos up that are easily available. Too bad it’s under fucked up rules and 1v1.

HeRoS is the Chanter.

Damn, that was pretty badass. So what version is the upcoming beta? I played some of the Chinese retail, which I believe was 1.0 at the time, and then I participated in the first two NA beta weekends. Maybe I’ll hit up AionSource again if a lot of changes were implemented.

1.5

Lots of changes and new additions.

I made it to lvl 15. So what’s there to do in end game?

ill guess ill be playing open beta on 9/6. hows the lag/system reqs? im using a laptop so id actually like to be able to press buttons when there are 20+ people on the screen.
