Yeah this is why I cant watch most speedruns as it has nothing to do with skill and everything to do with manipulating the coding in the game to skip 75pct of the game.
When I first started watching GDQ they had a Deus Ex run and here I was like: âOH WOW DEUS EX!!! THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!â Then the guy proceeds to clip trough walls and infinite jumps over the whole stage and I was like: âWtf is this shit???â
But you get used to it⌠or just watch glitchless runs, or 100%. It also depends on the game as you canât glitch some.
Sequence breaks through execution of some cool movement stuff or whatever Iâm more ok with, but even then if like almost all of the game is just out of bounds skips I get tired of it quick.
It depends on the skips. Some of the skips, even out of bounds skips, can be more skillful than actually playing the game itself.
Others are just kind of meh.
Also the âEasy Modeâ runs I usually hate. The exceptions though are runs where most of the difficulty lies elsewhere, for example Mirrorâs Edge. No one really watches for the combat, the game itself is about the movement. That one I can live with being on Easy. Most others though are insulting.
Reading the YouTube comments, it seems like the two are good friends and were doing a bit. I can understand why it was a bit annoying though since it seemed like it went for the entire run?
