Glare was a real bitch at the tourney, but that was pretty much it. I’m glad it wasnt raining hardcore, cause that would be even worse. Though getting exposure like Uwajimaya is pretty cool. Frankly, theres only 3-4 teams confirmed, it doesnt sound like it was terribly hard to schedule that tourney in the first place.
Pasqual - Horrible! Well, the only BB scene is 2 people in Vancouver, and 4 people in Salem. Kind of a sad state of affairs. And GG… me and Alex were the only ones who played consistantly, and last time I played he was a joke. Shame, but I didn’t expect it to last long.

Your taking shit mad wrong. Keoni talked to me about the possibility of moving the tournament last night. He had no idea about sammy had done previously about getting the tournament moved. I even told him that there was more then likely gonna be some resistance to the idea. All he was trying to due was ATLEAST MAKE A EFFORT for someone who has given HELLA EFFORT TO THIS SCENE.

Its like you think Keoni is somehow trying to sabotage your tournament on some level, When its clear as day that he was merely throwing something out there. Keoni has never in his short lifetime here in this scene but try to support what people are doing here. Way i look at it. " the same thing i said to Keoni " is Sammie should have gotten on the ball with this awhile ago. Omne: The “how dare you” type shit is EXACTLY what it was. Imagine this was PSU Bragging Rights. It’s a week before the tournament is scheduled. Now all of a sudden Panda posts in the thread and says “Hey there is gonna be a big event at this other venue. I wanna have Bragging rights over there. Everyone reply quickly so we can get this going”. If Panda made no attempt to consult with you the tournament organizer in the first place, there is no way you would not say shit about it. The FIRST person to be consulted should be the tournament organizer. Even though his intentions were probably good, the fact that he didn’t contact you first is a total lack of respect and you know it.

Put it all in proper perspective…you guys have been having monthly tourney’s at tilt. This is a small event, not a large one. the team tourney rules have just been finalized in the last week or so. You didn’t have 4 months of planning behind this.
Don’t make like this is the biggest, most hype shit to hit the scene in ages…it isn’t anything more than something a little bit different from the normal tourneys you have at Tilt, and that you will continue to have next month, regardless of what else goes on anywhere else.
In other words, you haven’t had the level of planning surrounding this that Bragging Rights had, so don’t try to compare this event to that one. And stop trying to twist this in to something it isn’t.
Sammie asked for help in trying to get the scene to do something over there. I did that by bringing attention to the request, and i did so out of respect for someone who’s done a shit ton more than you have for this scene. I have since called sammie and let him know that over all i don’t think it was going to happen.

Man oh man…this is sammies work at the moment…this fighting is making us stronger as a community? I personally talked with sammy for half an hour last night on the phone…seeing if I possible wanted to relocate…the answer was no…Honestly if his event had any kind of meaning he would have mentioned it at the last tourney and it would have been better planned for this month. I personally did not really see a big success in sammy’s B-day bash…the glare was a huge killer into my fun that day and having to run matches around other people schedule has kinda of lame also. Even the turnout wasnt anything new ya know? Now im not saying I wouldnt work with sammy…but I do like to put a little bit of time into planning these events to make them fun and ran in a timely manner…Sammy wants to see more hype at his events…well waiting the last minute and trying to take out hype isnt cool in my eye’s…Angel and I plan out events atleast a month in advance and try to build on the hype…I personally drove fliers all over oregon to build hype on the last slugfest…I even hung around the Super cab. at tilt to spread the word to players trying to bring in new faces…has it worked?
Once again…The event is staying at Tilt and you guys are more then welcome to run your own event on the same day…I personally dont care…But if he really wants to get something together let us know and we can plan for something next time.

We live in Oregon, the tournament will most likely be held outside at the end of September, it likes to rain outside.
With all respect to Sammie, IMO its difficult to want to do a tournament outside, especially in Oregon when the weather can flip on you at the drop of a pin.
Can we move onto more important things like Getting rid of this Chrcter lock Bull shit and making it just Blind Select. Character lock only benefits people that play Only 1 CHARACTER, and nothing else. nothing positive comes from character lock.

Unless its 3+ Players per team, there really is no need for character lock. I don’t think anyone, but SamB, is going to be pulling characters from some random spot and if it is a counterpick attempt, it’ll either A) Backfire or B) Win one game but backfire the next.

Just do what slash said. No character lock but blind select when requested and if there is a split, winners keep their characters. There are several people pushing for no character lock but no one is really pushing the other way… I think the people have spoken.
And just to reiterate, I think the final match should go down like this: 2/3 sets, twice if necessary. Each “set” is one 2v2 match as previous described. Lead players on each team play one game, anchor players play one game, if there is a split the winners play a tie breaker. For the finals I think it makes sense for the winner of each set to keep their characters for the next one just like we do in singles tournaments.
