To be lazy and edit Mackinzie’s post, a 2 of 3 match in 2v2 teams works like this.
a1 v b1 a1w
a2 v b2 b2w
a1 v b2 a1w team a 1 point
a1 v b1 b1w
a2 v b2 b2w team b 1 point
a1 v b1 b1w
a2 v b2 a2w
a2 v b1 a2w team a 1 point
Team A Wins
If you want to do that as best of 5, just expand as needed. Now you may just want to do single sets for the tourney, and then 2 of 3 GF, or something, I dunno how to actually this stuff is normally done in tournaments, I’m just saying this is how you score best of 3 or 5 or any sets in teams.
^This makes sense. We would just do single sets until grand finals which would be 2 out of 3 then. Otherwise this tourny would take forever. Thanks Wedge.
Do 5 dollar per person, and pot goes 100% to winning team? Doing a tiered pot would be weird for a team setup since they’re going to be to be splitting those winnings too. You generally have lower fees/total pot in a team tourney I think.
Simon kind of has a good point with the number of games you get to play, of course I trust in whoever Im playing with and my own skill to not worry about it, too much. But playing 2 out of 3 team tournament shouldn’t be too bad, but it might take much longer, if a1, wins and a2 loses, then a1 and b2s match will be two out of three as well. Because if that happens your adding about 1 extra person to the bracket everytime. If it happens every game you’d be doubling the bracket…(my math may be off) so I guess thats just something to consider if time is an issue. 3 out 5 would take a longggggg time.
Character lock is standard for team tourneys since you can’t have two people play the same character on a team, its just the way it goes, and it makes sense at least to me. I think everyone understands the format, I just think are people sure they want to do 2 out of 3, thats going to take some extra time as I said. I don’t think we need to change the entry fee no matter what.
