I am pumped either way! Win or lose, you’re both awesome players. I just want to see both players play their best.
I am not so sure. MAO will be a problem, but if Daigo pulls out Ryu or (specially) O.Sagat, manages to beat Nuki’s Chun, what else can he do? Same for Kurahashi. I think he will lose, to Japanese Boxer, Claw and Sim mains, but other characters will just get counter-picked.
Nuki can’t make it this year. Death in his family.
and muffin man has the best deejay? … TROLLOLOLOL!!!
Maybe Daigo will be more inspired to win it for Nuki’s sake now.
I’m going to have to bust out chun and dedicate a match to nuki.
I wanna see afro and damdai do a (N.) Ryu mirror.
That’s actually a pretty good idea. Both players have very good shoto play, so it would be interesting to see who would be better at it.
It’s the most satisfying mirror in the game, so there’s no complaints or excuses about characters. Only skill, mindgames, and mixups.
It truly is, but only from Ryu specialists. It’s a good general indicator of skill, but if neither players really consider Ryu their best character, then it only holds so much meaning.
Anyone want to make last min bets for damdai to win, I’ll take bets up to 100 dollars that afro will win. lets get it in.
So what happens in an epic double k.o. final round situation?

fuck it
Shit was so fucking obvious, I really don’t know how people thought Damdai’s option select bullshit playstyle was going to beat Afro.
Fuck new school. This shit isn’t for you, little kids.
congrats afro. honestly knew you would pull through and your practice and hard work has paid off. good showing in ToL also bro. now i wonder if this kid gonna keep posting vids of him beating this player and that player boasting lol. reality check son, one trick pony is not worth much vs good players who still practice.
Did anyone record video? Also, what was the final score?

afrolegends 10 - 4 damdai
Good shit to Afrolegends. Well played all weekend, especially vs Damdai. I’m not even mad since I made my money back + more for the UFC card and elsewhere. Papercut, I’ll collect that beer next time we see each other.
Other than Watson who I know puts his money where his mouth is, anyone else that did or wants to chime in with something cute to say that didn’t bet it or wasn’t in attendance can eat a dick. There was a ton of work involved in this whole thing and to talk bad about anyone that was a part of this reflects incredibly bad no matter what your motivation is.
Afro has been consistently practicing for awhile now, especially against the Hawk and shotos matchup, and he did a great job during the money matches.
From what i saw, Damdai seemed to miss quite a few things on the execution side. He just never seemed comfortable against Afro’s Deejay, and couldn’t quite find his groove. When things did work out for him, he won convincingly, but didn’t manage to get enough momentum to take him distance in FT10.
Like i said on stream, Damdai didn’t seem to mix up his attacks enough after a safe-jump. It’s difficult enough to knock down good Deejays, but Damdai used his safe-jump, wait a split second, cr.roundhouse xx fireball, at LEAST 6 or 7 times throughout the match. It never seemed like Afro was worried about post-knockdown mixups.
Both guys are extremely talented players, and most definitely the US’s best ST players. I hope Damdai is planning another re-match in the near future.
