Man, just frame = 1 frame link

i’m getting it completly wrong, right? (sigh
so 5mp to 5mp is a 1 (just)frame link?
which is the same as hp hayate cancel mp’s 1 frame link?

lp > mp
mp > mp
hp > hayate-cancel > mp
are all 1 frame links, since lp, mp, hp > hayate-cancel are all +5 on hit.

My main problems is that im missing a visual/audio “tip” on when to do the s.MP.
To link the s.MP to s.MP I usually press the s.MP (plinking) when I see Makoto pulling her arms back, and just after the sound efect. Similar thing with the s.LP->s.MP (this last I use the “hiting” sound to guide me).

However the Hayate cancel… well i haven’t find out what to use to guide me on pressing the atack. I found it easier to do a s.LP cause it has faster startup (one frame… uuuhuhh dangerous)

thanks for correcting!
cause i’m read the sf4ae wiki(jap
and it was written

u gotta safe jump os sweep or hayate each time to condition a netral jump tick karakusa.

wat

The reason you’re finding FFS easier after a Karakusa is because a lot of pressure is off, you have the hit confirm so you can just go for it without as much worry. It’s not extra frames or anything.

I still struggle with Makoto from time to time. I’m still not got good with anti-airing with fukikage, particularly cross-ups.
Though I’m still not familiar with option-selects, I’m was never good with them at all.

@mossad
MK tsurugi (agains bAckdash) > kara EX fukiage works on every characters xD

I can not Fuki jumpins to save my life lol, reactions been blunted by Sakura’s cr.hp

Last night I faced a Cody who I didn’t think he was that good at all. Whenever he was up close to me he would do a focus attack. I think he was trying to prevent me from counter attacking. Anyway, I actually didn’t know what to do about this, so I just blocked. I don’t know how to counter focus attacks from up close with Makoto. Sounds pretty noobish I know.

Check the section titled “How to deal with Focus Attacks” on post #5.

To answer your question, start doing reactionary c.MP xx LP Hayate or s.LK -> s.MK TC, start buffer poking with c.MP xx LP Hayate instead of MP/EX Hayate, start using Yamase more, start neutral jumping a lot, and jump at your opponent while holding back, and do a reactionary backdash to the FA after you hit with j.HP and tag them with s.MK xx EX Hayate.

Honestly, it’s tough to deal with FAs like that as Makoto unless you adapt quick. Some people rely on FAs for everything, and it can be pretty frustrating to lose to it because Makoto doesn’t have as good of risk vs. reward options to deal with them as most characters. But, if you recognize the habit and prepare to counter it, you can turn that spam into free neutral jump HK, Ultra

My biggest problem with this is that, unlike shoryuken, fuki isnt invincible WITH active frames. so with a SRK you can delay, in fact its best to delay, the motion in order to hit them deep and get the multiple hits, you cant delay fuki or you will get hit. For me this is essential because for me its not delaying- IM JUST SLOW. so I cant fuki on reaction. I have to be fishing for it and then because Im looking for movenment (any movement!) to fuki, I end up throwing the motion at random times, then its punish. Because of this I rely much much more on cr. mk as anti air

It’s like that in training mode where I have no pressure too. But it is easier to hit confirm. I don’t know I just find it easier.

Anyone get that awkward moment when you stun someone in the corner and you whiff the MK tsurguri and you just backthrow them >.<

You mean FA3, not-so-instant-air MK Tsurugi, missing them and putting yourself into the corner? Heh, I can honestly say that’s never happened to me, somehow. Plenty of accidental cross-up Tsurugis after FA3 and a forced s.HP xx EX Oroshi, but never a miss.

Sometimes I do miss the Tsurugi entirely by doing it too fast or not going all the way to back or something and thus jump over my opponent. At that point the best option I’ve found is to c.LK and dash back out of the corner, and go for s.HP xx EX Hayate.

Yeah I use to have that problem. Now I just go for oroshi or a CR lk reset is so god like …

Since this is the Q&A, anyone mind explaining what this is ?

That can actually happen pretty easily if you delay an IA Tsurugi slightly, especially after a FA3 crumple. I’ve done it on opponents’ wake-up in the corner and crossed them up, specifically on fat hit-boxes like Cody, Dee Jay, Abel, etc.
