AE v.2013 E. Honda requests

I don’t know why you guys are talking like capcom is still working on balance changes for Honda. They are so done, and you’re wasting your time. Move on with your lives.

With that being said, I think the ex HB nerf will open up a new wake up mind game. Once people start baiting it to punish on block, they will begin sitting in crouch block on a wake up Honda, opening up Oicho opportunities.

Not really, Everyone just need to stick out a meaty low. It doesn’t even need to be OSed.
This will beat buttslam (block and punish), oicho (stuffed), EX headbutt (block and punished), medium headbutt (block)

They still have to test and balance the new character so its possible they will continue balancing the rest of the cast

I forgot to mention that in the mirror, honda punishes ex hb with c.lp xx hands (5 hits). But it looks like you can walk for 2fs and full hands punish.

combofiend said everyone was begging him to buff Honda in that Eurogamer interview… he was eating dinner and some guy across the street said “buff honda”. I told my friend a balrog main that combofiend said honda needs to be less brainless, my friend said “he is brainless”. dumbest thing is ex headbutt was not broken or cheap if you could already bait+punish it pretty easily… IF YOU HAD A BRAIN

one thing i wanted to say too about the ex hands buff… its still pretty shitty, you need to hit so deep to get ex hands to hit properly as a link from FP Hands. this is the reason i feel like its almost useless other than punishing a whiffed DP or somethign like that. you will likely never score it on a jump in.

on the bright side of the mixup there is delayed wakeup so you may get to dodge their blockstring all together and not have to worry about that risk (thinking about it now if you guess correct defensively on your delayed stand ex headbutt would have beat like everything)

can you FADC a pointblank FP headbutt? I know for a fact you can do it with EX Headbutt

might be a new thing to consider when up close to make your ex headbutt safe for 3 bars LOL!

You actually can, I do this usually against a Fei Long that jumped in and I’m unsure if my jab headbutt will be blocked, because I did my AA too late.
EXFAing a late AA jab headbutt usually results in a counterhit crumple -> Free ultra.

^^I think your right with the delayed wake up. I truly think it’s the only thing that saves Honda in the long run. The ex headbutt nerf is just to much for me, I’m really debating a character change.

I went from winning tournaments as a Balrog main to losing and getting 2nd 3rd with Honda. Been rocking with Honda since 09 but I just don’t see him really exposing people with no damage increase, nor a true mixup.

I intend to use more short, short, jab ex hands type combos. Confirm a hit and then go for extra damage.

You can focus cancel any move that you can super cancel. All headbutts have 2 active frames before Honda leaves the ground, the same two frames that deal additional damage (or less in jab headbutt’s case). During these two grounded frames, Honda can focus cancel his headbutts. I already use ex headbutt fadc in a bunch of matches or if I’m cornered.

Ex Headbutt: Come on Combofind, it is an Ex move and it is -8 block, It cannot even go through fireball and YOU WANT TO NERF IT ??? why? we need the ex headbutt to be at least like it is on 2012, since everyone can punish headbutts on reaction ( just jump back with HK or HP and that’s it). You call it LAME? becuase honda turtles? at least we have to go forward and fight !!! and what about Guile? Doesn’t he TURTLES too ? why don’t you nerf him too ? we can tell that you do not like E.HONDA at all.

It is so silly that nerf, so why do you buff so much ONI and KEN ? YOU ARE BEING UNFAIR man, the whole E.Honda community in the shoryuken website is UPSET ( call it what you want, crying, complaining, etc ) about this. it will make our bad matches ( Sagat, Chun, Guile, Dhalsim, Akuma, Ryu, Ken, etc) EVEN WORSE ! dang man, honda players will drop the sumo like it happened after SUPER, because of this nerf, and the lack the buffs that you took away, mark my words.

We asked for Ochio Throw not to switch sides, and we get nothing.

We asked for Ultra 1, being faster…, if it is now it is barely, like nothing happened.

We asked for faster far. St. HP as a proper antiair, we get “close HP” when no honda player use that…

We asked to revert the blockstun from the HHS ( Super +6) and we get nothing…

We asked for some fireball invincibilty added to MP headbutt (1-15 frames) and Ex Headbutt(1-15 frames)… we got nothing…

Please listen to what people need Combofind, do not pretend like we do not exist, remember that one day you were in our shoes…

I hope you revert the EX Sumo Headbutt at least…, we still trust in you

I still think Ex Headbutt pushback should be slightly increased to around 8.5 squares (basically just outside of Rufus’s st Mp and Chun Li’s st Hp range). It doesn’t make any sense to make his bad matches even worse.

I would like Lp Headbutt to get 1 more frame of fireball invincibility (so it becomes 15 fr) so we can fight zoners better.

Ex Oicho should be a better option - just throw invincibility is too little. Increase the range to 1.65, give it 1 hit of armor, make it not switch sides on hit. Or a combination - increase the range and throw inv., etc

I would like 1 more offensive buff, considering we lose Ex Hb as a pressure/ frame trap tool. One of the following:

  • Oichos not switch sides on hit (at least one version)
  • Hp Hands increase the blockstun
  • st Hk: make it 0 on hit (while keeping it -6 on block)
  • Make Ex Splash 0 on block and/or Lk Splash -1 on block, while increasing the recovery. Also, reduce the pushback on the first hit for Lk Splash, or make the downward trajectory more angled.

I’d be happy if LP and MP Headbutt gain 1 more frame of projectile invincibility and at least one of the oichos not switching sides.

I hope you realize that CAPCOM will not give us any of this…

No, I don’t realize. Actually Capcom gave us a bunch of other good stuff, which shows they are open to sugestions. But if we never ask, don’t expect to get anything.

“never ask”?!.. LOL… read the DannyboyPERU’s list of what we asked several times!..
Capcom’s answer is only one and can be read as: “We hate Honda so much that we didn’t ever included him in SFxT! (the only world warrior not included), so shut up and take those bad casual changes!”

ps: I “asked” in capcom unity forum too, and more than one times, however… The problem is that in forums like C.U. there are so many scrubs that ask for INSANE things (all headbutts with fireball invincibility, for example) that obvioulsy no one in capcom will take seriuosly the discussions!

pps: remeber the words of combofiend BEFORE the individual threads of balance requests in capcom unity forum?! “No more nerfs!.. only buffs for all PGs, to become all tournament-viable!”… well… if THOSE are the changes for Honda to make him more tournament-viable… I think that combofiend simply didn’t have ever used Honda at all…

im starting to get a bit pessimistic now, the game is almost done.

Retekin I like that idea bout the spot for EX Hands after a CR LK setup. It’s funny because I actually learned that link by complete accident and now I use it all the time. I was just mashing cr tech on that timing in a block string and i stuffed the frame trap and made it happen. I can actually hit the ex hands fairly consistenly off of CR LP that is a smart way to confirm it.

also i wanted to note technically ex hhs is still “safe”, you can always back off if you see its not hitting.

don’t get me wrong, I’m in the same boat, I’m also pissed off for the nerf Honda is getting. But I think posting in CU was worth the effort, Honda still got some nice stuff - U2 buff, U1 improved, Ex oicho, Ex Hands, jump mp, st hk -6 on block, all these are things Honda players requested.

I think is worth to try and ask for a couple of more buffs. I’m aware that I might not get all of them, but if I get at least 1 more, I’m happy. plus, it takes 10 min. to post something at CU/pm combo/Dawgtanian/tweet them. It’s not like I need to break an arm and a leg.

I’m 100% sure Ex Oicho did NOT have throw invincibility at the FR build.

well… so… what are the (real/usaful) advantages of EX-Oicho, then?! Nothing, as previous sf4’s versions?!

As far as I could tell, there was nothing special about Ex Oicho. Properties seemed the same as AE.
