The shorter HB recovery had some uses but they were pretty limited. You could use it to gain meter versus fireball spammers, and super limited somewhat crappy mixups on knockdowns. But as most everybody has said, if you miss a headbutt, regardless of whiff or block, regardless of version you are going to eat the other guy’s biggest combo.
I really wish he got more than the damage buff to the headbutt. Like getting the old jump back fierce and the stand jab not whiffing on crouched opponents. And a normal that was an overhead as well.
I think his stand jab hits all crouchers now.
be sure you’re not getting close st.lp, that wasn’t nerfed only far st.lp. cl.lp hits crouchers.

Yeah after they posted the buff this was the first thing I thought about. The fact that headbutt whiffs on some of the cast.

Buffs for Balrog are good in AE 2012, Standing Roadhouse can hit low opponents, Ultra 2 gets 399 DMG, easier to connect low strong after overhead and headbutt dmg back to super dmg, I still want to see the recovery time after headbutt to be like it was in super, but that will just make others complain how Balrog is still the best character of SSF IV in their opinions.
I would have loved the old s.jab but that really is just wishful thinking… What I really want is better frame advantage on Rog’s cr.short.

Well, we can say v2012 Balrog will be better than AE Balrog, but not that much
Damage HB back to Super is great.
Close standing hard punch hitting low can be usefull,I dont know how
Overhead to cr.MP confirmed is just a gadget, I doubt you can combo into HB with all char.
All I want is safe ex dash smash back. It was completely dumb to make it at -3 after all the nerfs… It’s useless now, that nerf pissed me off so much
I think the standing jab change reverted is a little too much to ask, but I guess the rest will suffice. Damage was never really an issue, but it’s not unwelcome.
and maybe they should think about making the “auto correct” headbutt back to the way it was in super, I used to punish mixups a lot in super with firece headbutt, now it happens less the 50% of the time and it has to be EX headbutt, it is better to escape mixups with EX upper now. -_-

Think I saw your Rog on Excellent Adventures if I’m not mistaken.
All I’d want is giving Balrog his SSF4 self back along with a quicker overhead punch and Ultra 2 with Zangief properties and more damage, maybe 100 more points of damage. At least then I would have to choose either one instead of automatically using Ultra 1 and it wouldn’t be useless.
For example, when Ryu jump into you with Hk, then jab jab on guard, then he jump over you for a cross up, jab jab, etc etc…
I think it’s this kind of situation.
I punished this too with with a jab headbut in super but in AE I was wondering if it was me doing it too soon. The HB is always in the wrong side. Maybe it’s another nerf for AE ?
