Run Stop builds meter; never had trouble building meter with Guy, but if your going to give it to us we’ll take it.
Faster bushin flip; could mean more normal Bushin Flip uncrouchables and easier grabs on wake?
Increased invincibility on his Ex Air Throw; I was just thinking about this today. Guy may be able to grab SRK from the ground up and go through projectiles?

Hello Guys I am finally back from Brazil to Tokyo after two months of vacation, beaches and a lot of beer.
I have something REALLY IMPORTANT TO ASK ALL OF YOU.
Tomorrow I am going to the location test at kichijouji, to try the 2012 beta version (I will not care about winning or losing, I will just spend some bucks on testing stuff) and of course I will take a camera with me and post all the fights here later.
So I want you Guys to tell me what do you want me to test.
So far, I have been planning on testing the following items:
1- Walk back speed and its influence on fotsie game
2- empty bunshin flip recovery speed and if it is really usable as a bait for further mix-up (as in the dev blogs example target combo > empty bunshin flip > throw)
3- Ultra 1 after FADC hozanto and Gokusa combo from various locations on the screen
4- Ultra 1 against a fireball at various distances
5- Ultra 2 command input and distance (Ill try it from a bit far from the opponent)
6- Vertical jump HP as an air to air
7- Diagonal jump MP and diagonal jump HK against Ryu’s ducks (to see to what extent its hitbox was lowered)
8- Wall jump > elbow drop; Wall jump > HK or MK (to see from where can we attack after wall jumping)
9- Throw distance and Kara Throwing with the new range
10 - elbow drop with diagonal inputs
11- See if Run > overhead doesn’t whiff against Sakura, Juri, Rose and etc.
12- See if EX Senpuukyaku hits all hits as An anti-air and if it hits Juri’s cr MK as a wake up reversal.
If we get to know how the changes are, we can ask the dev’s blog for further changing, if needed!

Im interested in #5 and 7. You can also test cross up mk vs rose and sim if you run into them…If there is a survey at the end, it would be good to suggest capcom some buffs. Thanks
I would like to see the U1 Buff and the ex tatsu buff
In terms of buffs i would request the following:
- Change c.hk to either be safer on block or knockdown when the tip hits
- more active frames on nj.mk to make the safe jump easier
- change cl.mp back to the way it was in SSFIV
Other things i would like to see that would be cool but not necessary
- bushin flip elbow hitbox lowered so it cannot be avoided with hurt box lowering normals OR some chip on block (5-10dmg?)
- kaiten izuna otoshi - at the moment their are 3 versions with different hitboxes for the move (excluding the ex version). Why not get rid of one of them and make one version combo-able after FADC? Just nerf the damage on it
^That’s a good list. Since Guy’s Running Overhead is unsafe on block, they need to buff him in other areas. If they buff close stMp and far stMp, Guys pressure game would be really good. Standing Medium Punch is the main part of Guy’s game. Close stMp would combo into Medium Hozanto again and Far stMp would make Run Stop safer, for a better pressure game. If their not willing to make these changes, then at least make the last part of Running Overhead safe and give it a damage adjustment. The first hit should do 70 damage and the last hit should do 100 damage. Just before AE hit, as a punish, I would combo close stMp into Medium Punch then cancel into Super for big damage. The Chip Damage on Elbow Drop I totally agree with. Guy has a Poor chip damage out-put. Viper’s chip damage is so much better, no wonder so many top players main her.
Would be nice if you can test if Guy’s f+MP overhead now gets 2 hits against a crouching Sagat or still only gets 1 hit (and if it does, make a suggestion to improve the hitbox on the 2nd hit of the f+MP)

Pardon my late answer, graduate school has been kicking my ass this week.
So, last Sunday I went to the location test for the beta version of 2012 AE for testing Guy, based on the topics I listed above and on requests made by you all.
I made a simple video (with a happy ending) as a resume of what I got, but before moving to it, I would like to state here my opinion, and describe how it went.
First of all, I was naive enough to think that there wouldn’t be too many people there and that I would be able to ask my friend to play the characters I liked to test against and all…it would be perfect…Well, reality isn’t so simple and that shit was packed with Japanese good players.The line for playing always had something like 10 people, and if you lost you had to wait another 15 minutes to play…so it wasn’t like testing at all for them…I mean they were testing yes, but while trying to win as well…So you Guys can imagine how hard it was for me to perform some of the stuff I wanted.
On top of that, my friend (a second one, the camera man) in the middle of my first fight was alarmed by the staff that any type of recording was prohibited…
Lucky me he has sneaky hands, and he kept recording even so by just holding the camera in his waist, as if it was turned of. So, forgive me if the quality isn’t the best, but believe me, it is more than we could have asked.
Anyways, I managed to gather almost all the info I wanted and what you people had asked also.
Starting from stuff I could not record (because the staff always came back to see if we were shooting)
xIROCx asked me to try Forward Throw, Forward Dash, then quickly input Empty Medium Bushin Flip and Block. THAT WORKED! I blocked the shoryuken reversal somehow…dude brilliant set up! congrats!
I did not fight any Rose in something like 15 fights so, sorry but couldn’t test the naked super. About the Ultra 1 in corner, it looks like the possible distance for it if not doubled, has increased in 1.5 at least, sorry I could not get that on the video. As for the safe jump with HP, it is in the video.
As for AlboShinobi’s request, sorry but I did not fight any Rose or Chun-li , so could not try to cross them up.
And AcidicEnema’s request, overhead on Sagat, that I couldn’t do as well, no Sagats there in 4 hours I stayed.
Now to my list and what I felt about the changes.
1- Walk back speed has made Guy notoriously lighter and faster, that is definitely a big buff.
2- Empty bunshin flip recovery is now good for running away from the corner, but** I could not manage to mix up anything with it from close range**, it may be just me but It seems like anyone with reactions fast enough would hit me before i get to the ground as monkeymadness had already pointed out
3- Could not get that on the video but ultra 1 does hit twice from mid screen after gokusa combo FADC
4- see the video for Ultra 1 against fireballs
5- same here for ultra 2
6- Also could not get that in the video but HP is now a very good Air to Air. But it already was…so…
7- That has not improved at all. Capcom please do something about it! HK still whiffs, unless imputed very deep, against low profiles.
8- Wall jump > elbow and Wall jump> MK are in the video
9- Throws in the video
10-Elbow drop with diagonal inputs in the video
11- Run >overhead in the video
12- Ex Senpuukyaku in the video.
Last but no least, we had a questionnaire to answer there, so I took the opportunity to write my opinion about the changes.
Mainly, I complained about the diagonal jump HK hitbox, that has not been lowered enough to hit low profile moves unless inputed very late and about target combo, which still whiffs sometimes for no reason (see in the video).
Also, I asked for the last battery of changes, some buffs on elbow drop (either hit stun or better hit box) because it is still killed by low profiles the same way since super version. Finally, I asked for a FADC in EX senpuukyaku, simply because not having it is bullshit. Cmon, its three bars we are talking about here.
In resume, Guy did got stronger, but more than buffs, he got many of his mistakes corrected. Lets keep asking Capcom to change the flaws that still are there. We are not asking them to make Guy top tier or to give him more tools. We just need his tools working decently.

^ Things that I liked. First, Walk Back Speed is really good and whiff punishing is going to be better. Second, Ex Tatsu looks as though it’s fixed but I’m still curious to test this out myself. Third, I really wanted to see Running Overhead against Sakura, but it looks solid though. Fourth, the hitbox on Jumping Hp has improved I see. And finally I want to see the new hitbox info on Jumping Hk, it clearly whiffed against Ken. I hope Capcom is saving the best stuff for last. It’s some what refreshing to see these new changes, but not exciting. Guy should of never been this broken in the first place. Again, a big thank you Pedro Marques from the Guy community…

About the run overhead against Sakura, I have it recorded but I did not include it on the video cause I thought only Guy would be enough.

And about the HK hit box, I am planning on writing in capcoms website tonight in Japanese talking about it, and about possible buffs for elbow drop, fadc after ex senpuukyaku or more invencibility frames on ex hozanto, and about the whiffing target combo.
If we had all this attended, Guy would be a competitive character IMO
You forgot to check j. mp, that got a hitbox buff, maybe enough to hit low-profile moves.
Thanks a lot Pedro. If you haven’t wrote to capcom yet, can you please tell them to make cr.hk safer as well. It’s the worst slide in the game and I think it would help guy a lot in order to get in.
True, my bad…but I have never seen anybody jumping in with a MP…It had a worse reach than HK until now.
Honestly I kinda doubt They would make it better than HK.
But who knows right? Guess now we will have to wait and see
