According to frame data thats not possible at all.
cl.fierce meaty + counterhit is only +5 by itself, and with a jumpin the ch bonus wouldn’t be on the fierce.

I’m not sure if the jump in was with fierce (if it makes any difference), but I’m almost positive that elec comboed from st.fierce
cannot test this right now, but will give it a shot
Yeah by frame data there is 0 way for that to work. You could frame trap into the electricity though.
maybe… just maybe…
the jump in attack wasn’t comboed into s.HP… and gief tried to attack after getting hit by the jumping attack which cause the s.HP to become CH???

Any vids on anti twins divekicks? It’s the one thing i’ve not been able to deal with.
check the first page, go to the vid I have in the yun section of Taku vs. MDR. He uses pretty much all of the anti twin divekick stuff other than st.strong.
More reasons why Yang is such a crap ass match up vs Yun… Yang can ‘teleport dash’ over your body to the other side when you’re down… meaning it kills your rainbow roll/U1 charge then can go for a meaty afterwards… and only need to deal with ex-upball… I forgot if yang can punish ex upball on hit… gotta double check…(would be nice if someone knows already)
-LAU
he can punish with kara ex slashes on hit, and if you are somewhat close to the corner he can followup the slashes with u2 or ex roll kick.
thanks man
i really hate fighting Yang now… to me… it seems like everythign Yang does is better outside of dive kick, ultra, super… but Yang’s poke, defense, palm, OS, options in general seems so much better than Yun at least when he’s fighting against Blanka…
-LAU
yeah Yang gives Blanka way more trouble IMO. It reminds me of the Bison match a lot.
Actually thinking more about it… Yang’s ultra is even better than Yun against Blanka… both ultra are decent… one is good for anti-ball/OS… the other is higher damage and combo… any good Yang player can connect the ultra probably just as easy if not easier than Yun single option ultra…
-LAU
yeah, ex lunge combos don’t work on Blanka with Yun, so you don’t have to worry about taking the ultra.
Played against a stronger Yun yesterday… he beat me a bit more than i beat him but I didn’t feel overwhelmed but felt quite right by the fact that I always feel the match was Blanka disadvantage and making a wrong guess sometimes ends up killing me if he’s got a nice super meter waiting.
at least he did show me how it was ‘easier’ for Yun to get in vs Yang thanks to lunge punch and better dive kicks but i still feel Yang is a tougher matchup if both are played at the same level. All i can say is with Yun there’s so many ways of activating super and the damage with the super/ultra really does hurt a lot… makes this match up quite hard… but as long as you move in slowly, look out for dive kicks and lunge punches and punish accordingly the match is still not a one sided match up.

I have more trouble with yang’s divekick as a get in tool than I do with yun’s, not quite sure why that is. st.strong seems to trade more vs. yang I guess?
after cl.mk, j.hp reset vs. yang he can do a mk divekick that you can’t block crouching, st.block it normally, ex upball, or do lp/ex electricity.
hm… i rarely use s.MP against dive kicks… usually if i do use it… i expect it to trade… generally I use s.HK/s.HP most of the time…
i think the reason why i think Yun is a bit easier with dive kicks is because while you’re looking out for his lunge punches, you kinda have to also be aware of his different angle dive kicks… vs… with Yang… his normals reach further in general… but outside of his normal… unless he’s doing his rolling kick and plans to FADC there’s really not too many things that’s far reaching… he can kinda ‘teleport’ to you and use it as if it’s blanka hop… but other than that to get in it’s normals + dive kicks… but with yun it’s like normal, dive kicks, lunge punch… not to mention because of lunge punch you can’t even FA bait a bit (but that’s generally not that great of an option anyways against the twins)

Hi guys, I have some questions against the vega matchup.
Is it possible to reversal him in between : c.mp -> rolling attack?
This is the main question:
What should I do after he does his wall dive? I tried to focus, and he throws me. When I try to block, sometimes I guess wrongly and get crossed up.
Is it possible to hit him out of the air with J.HP? I tried that I think, and got air-thrown.
Techinally no. But it’s near impossible to break through, especially if he’s close to you during the cr.mp. Just block. It’s not worth the risk. A skilled Vega player can FADC the roll into a cr.lp>cr.mp>ex fba, or worse.
Electricity. Also, Vega can be hit out of FBA with almost any air attack, if used early enough. Naked FBA loses to a lot of air normals. But I would just use electricity. If not, use FA. Believe me when I say no one but a pro player is going to consistently grab you out of focuses. Especially Blanka since he’s low to the ground already, and shrinks even more during a focus animation.
Vega has no ‘uppercut’. If you mean his Scarlet Terror it sucks ass as a wake-up or AA due to no invincibility frames, EX or not. Abuse Vega on wake-up.
I’ll try it out in training mode later. Thanks for the input.
cc -> elec sounds interesting, will hit the training mode after work.
