Seth/Cammy/Honda are the worst for me. Seth is pretty much unwinnable.
Seth I think is Blanka’s worst matchup in v2012. I can’t see how to win that match without luck. This is the closest to an 8:2 that I’ve played in this game.
I think the same about Cammy.
Fei is the hardest. Whatever you guys!!! Cammy you can at least foots with. Seth i can random out.
Yeah Honda is INSANELY hard. This is a matchup i thought was 5-5 and i swear it’s 6-4 or worse. I’ve played some pretty strong hondas in the usa and i’ve always done well, but i ran into a few who actually knew this matchup and oh my god c.LP is the dumbest thing ever.
Honda is like 6.5 honda’s favor. cr.lp beats all of your buttons and you have to guess to whiff punish it. Honda has huge combos on blanka because of how fat he is and blanka can’t really approach all that well. Honda is also difficult to safeball and he’s going to be hitting jab randomly anyways so chances are you get stuffed. He can also be difficult to properly anti air.
Even if you land a knockdown you can’t really run A tier mixups because of the threat of ex headbutt which you can’t punish even if you bait it without some goofy setup. So you have to break his charge and safejump basically.
If cr.short recovered 1-2 frames faster this matchup would be easier as it would allow you to do a lot of cr.short xx elec OS ex upball to beat reversal ex headbutt. It’s technically possible now but there is no frame perfect setup for it because you have to have the first active frame of ex headbutt whiff on you.
Well, i do much better against Honda than against Cammy.
His cr.lp is fucking annoying yes, but at least, you can beat it with stand hp/cr.hp at far range for example. I like to anti air him with neutral jump HP if he likes to jump or even normal upball if i react like it should. If i have knockdown, i always looking to break his charge yes and it’s enough to annoy him with overhead set-ups, meaties with low or close strong etc… cr.short xx elec OS ex upball looks incredibly hard to do.
Against Fei, i really think Blanka can play footsies with him, all pokes are good especially stand hp which is awesome to whiff punish his rekka and his pokes, but just don’t use sweep and cr.hp. Like i said, the worse part for me is to guessing right with rekkas but i guess it’s not specific to Blanka.
Cammy is really horribly hard for me, against her, i really feel Blanka can’t play footsies here, her dive’s pressure is too much annoying, her normals are awesome (fucking stand hk…), even her spiral is annoying, you always need to block low and it beats hori balls.
Not much experience against Seth.
Blanka can for sure play foots vs her. If you can’t play foots vs her then my god how are you doing it vs fei.
Like i said, her dive’s pressure and her pokes are just too good, much more scary than fighting Fei so yes, Blanka can’t play footsies against her but that’s just my opinion.
It’s actually easier to play footsies vs. fei. His pokes with good range are easier to whiff punish, you can safeball him, and you have ranges where you can hit certain buttons and be extremely favored. At every range vs. cammy she has a button that beats all of your buttons nearly.
Plus she can just ex divekick over a whiff and do 300 damage and put you in a mixup.

Talking about the very defensive ones who don’t do fullscreen dash punshes and that cannot be bait into anything…
So i try to get close…into that magic spot where i might hit him with s.hp
Maybe i even hit him…but its just one hit
Next thing i try to reposition myself and i get a sweep or a dashpunsh or an ex dashpunsh or a jap into combo into ultra, that carries me to the corner where i just die!

I think it’s really difficult now with the change to blanka’s backthrow. I’m no longer consistent with the unblockable vs. him sadly
I’ve always had problems vs turtle Boxer. I usually score damage off focus crumples and jab xx elec vs dash punches but if they are just sitting there it feels impossible.
I feel the same against a turtle Dictator. I’ve fought against a Dictator like that a few months back and I just couldn’t do anything.
Yes, Boxer is hard but winable for me, you need to react to his multiple dash punchs and you have an answer for all of them (focus, elec, throw, slide, ball etc…) and he have an answer for all of your answers, so don’t become predictable with that.
About normals, i think it’s even if you are out of that jab’s range where he can kill you with traps/tick throw… your stand hp/cr. hp/stand mp/cr.mp etc… are good, his stand hk/hp/cr. hk etc… are good too.
If you have a knockdown, it’s like against Dicta/Honda, break his charge and go for some mix-ups, cr.lk xx hp elec, overhead to LP ball (which is safe against him i believe on hit), if you fell to the ground, Boxer is not scary, just know how to tech throw against him and don’t eat his frame traps.
It’s a turtle’s match-up, you can’t open him but it’s the same for him, be smart and patient, i think it’s not that hard, at worse 6-4.
If boxer just doesn’t dash punch the match is a lot harder.
He doesn’t need to dash punch actually. So at this point, it’s a very static match, time over all days.
Boxer just walks forward. he doesn’t have c.LP like honda but he has a better AA game and if he gets blanka in the corner it’s really annoying.
After the discussion about Honda’s c.LP… did some testing… and not saying it’s super easy to beat or anything but I think you guys exaggerate a bit too much and make it sound like it’s impossible to beat.

from playing around… I think the best way to beat Honda’s c.LP is with s.MP… to keep it short.
other moves that can be considered are (in order):
s.HP
slide … far range works better… tip should pretty much be the only version to use if you don’t wanna be punished hard… if you do this close it can’t go under the c.LP
s.HK (a bit inconsistent but it is possible to whiff punish or interupt… not easy)
c.HP … well you know the weakness of this move…

c.MP
moves to avoid:
c.HK despite it seems like a good idea… it isn’t… due to the hurt box
c.MK pretty much free damage for Honda.
