Jump in on EX-headbutt is just pointless… or is it? If you get a non-autocorrect to come out then it is a nice waste of meter for honda, but even lp has 14 frames inv now. After a lucky knockdown, usually from sliding a blocked hp.headbutt, I just late corpse-hop into meaty cr.lk xx elec (OS st.hp), the Os st.hp hits butt-stomp reversals… sometimes. Other than that, try to distract them with a Krispy Kreme or something… I dunno…?

Elec makes up kicks whiff so once conditioned to block throw in overheads. I paraphrased that, I used to find dj hard too.

Thats pretty much it, he can’t do anything. You can literally just stand there and st.fierce/slide everything and he’s losing and has to do something dumb.

if you’re losing to DJ it sounds like you aren’t being lame/patient enough. This can happen to all of us when you just want to generate offense. But like Ves said he can’t do anything so why bother…

also this is why people will lose to gouken. They do too much. he can’t do anything to you so just lame him and become a wall.

edit: i get bored just like the rest of you and i’ll rushdown everyone but that’s when i lose and drop a ton of points. When i play to win against like some good player in a FT set then i notice how much more patient i become and spacing i become. This is how all your games should be. I know it’s hard cuz it can get boring but shrug we are blanka folk.

Yeah I mean I figured that’s what it is…I really have a problem with that, like I KNOW I have to play more lame but then I just…don’t…like I get in the match and suddenly those thoughts leave and I go back to playing normal.

Also when you guys said you’re free to do whatever you want, you mean except jump.

But also I need to stop thinking I do or do not know a matchup when I am just playing ranked…I need to just do some endless sets with these characters to really learn it…there’s a really good Dee Jay player in my local scene actually (his gt is lowtierplayer), I should try to get some casuals in with him next week.

Lol. I recently have still been getting blown up by Dhalsim. But reading back at the entire thread and watching Nishikin vs Mochi, I realize I have not been punishing yoga snipers with upball lol. Seems hella useful.

The players of my local scene know I’m weak against Dhalsim, so they are planning to use it against me during the upcoming tourney lawl. Trying to get better prepared to handle that match-up.

I have a question, I almost 100% of the time get hit by this:
Yoga fire -> Teleport (cross up) -> combo.

How the hell do I block that shit.

EDIT - Just watched the vid where Mookmonster (Josh I think?) was playing against a Sim, there was one yoga sniper where it seems is spaced at quite a distance. Is it still possible to punish it on hit with upball?

at max distance HK upball will whiff, but ex will not from my experience.

A good way to not get hit by the yoga fire mixup is A) never let him throw yoga fires when you are standing without punishing B) if he does it on knockdown reversal ex upball or ground u2.

How bout I hop forward then upball? Will it work? lol

At the range where it won’t work you should be doing things that will beat sniper anyways.

You shouldn’t really be sitting still vs. sim ever unless you have the lifelead and meters stocked.

Duds standing fierce punch. Nightmare. Apparently it’s the ‘special’ version i’m having probs with. Duck, fierce follow? Option selected everywhere. Meaty. So many plus frames, and active for so long.

Use far st.lp vs Dudley to stop him from pressing buttons (not foolproof). You don’t really get to score a lot of damage in one go in this matchup until you get a knockdown and they guess wrong. His far st.hp can be troublesome but usually he has to get you to try to push buttons first before he uses it. So he’ll do stuff like random cr.mk right outside your punish range and then st.hp to catch you pressing buttons. Or something like empty neutral jump directly into f.hp which crushes some lows. All of these can be focus punished, except duck straight. Just block that and punish with a combo or a throw if you want position or a setup. If you block f.hp (or a meaty duck straight), tech extra late because Dudley players like to follow up with EX DP FADC. He is at -2, which means his DP will beat your throw or crouch tech.

You think DJ can use his Sobat as a reversal to beat Blanka’s lows/elec on wake up?
