Short basic question, please let me know if old or nonsense…
(do not have the possibility to test atm)
As I understood from the wiki, the fw.dash after focus attack is shorten by 1fr. So theoretically, if you hit FA1 on block (-21fr), dash forward (16-1=15fr), you end up with +6fr block advantage (frame perfect). Which would mean FA1, fw.dash, close MK (3fr) cancelled in LP Palm would be a true block string with good push back. But this also means, that FA1 on hit (also -21fr, no crumple) ends up by +6fr hit advantage as well and would combo with close MK x LP PALM (total DMG 184, Stun 285 and corner). So in both scenarios I am literally safe (besides start up of FA1).
I am just thinking of keeping up pressure after chains like cr.lp - cr.lp - f.k - f.lk or after f.mk and similar long range pokes…
Your frame advantage will have nothing to do with the recovery on block. The -21 is the amount of frames between block/hit stun wearing off and Gouken being able to block if he does not dash cancel.
If you dash cancel a level 1 it should be 0 frame advantage, a level 2 is +6. Makes for a great frametrap if you are frame perfect and use st.cl.hp. Anything with 6 or less startup frames will be airtight assuming frame perfect.
Alright, don’t know how you guys will feel about this as it is admittedly pretty gimmicky, but if you do a tatsu, FA dash under, st.lp, you can dash under for an awkward ass ground cross up. I’ve gotten it to work off of jump ins and cross up mk. Again its seems pretty gimmicky, but for two bars you get a reset into whatever, so take that how you will.
What does this have to do with Gouken? It changes by character, and whether they are face down or not, not by what move you use. The information is in the main section for SSF4.
F.Throw, charge LP HADO, EXTATSU if jumped in. It works, I know, just wanna get a feeling for room of error in frames…
Yes, I know they vary by char, but is the wake up universal for all sweeps of all chars? And no, wake up times after throw, sweep and flip throw should be different.
The best you are going to get is in the main forum.
If you think someone in here did every untechable knockdown possible with Gouken, on every single character, recorded it all and then counted the frames I’m not sure what to tell you. I’d be really appreciative though if you did this.
Gouken’s sweep has 50f frame advantage (can hit opponent from the 51st frame), and his forward throw has 66f frame advantage for most characters.
Sweep has 51f frame advantage against Sagat, Cammy and Vega, and has 52f frame advantage against Blanka.
Forward throw has 65f frame advantage against Adon, 67f advantage against Dhalsim, Sagat, Cammy, Vega and Blanka, and has 71f frame advantage against Hakan.
Someone possibly was crazy enough to record all of Guile and Gouken’s hard knockdown(and non-hard knockdown) situations against every character in the game, with both quick recover and no quick recover, then counted all the frames…possibly.
I am playing around with charged horizontal and diagonal Hados after f.throw in respective follow ups like AA Extatsu or dash and MP Palm when neutral jumped. As well as things like mid to far cr.hk (during footsies) and dash in, dash out and far.MP as possible counterhit link in sweep. I know some of these “set ups” can work and I wanted to get an impression of room for error, if its “safe” or meaty, can I only be hit during start up, etc.
hm, some peeps just wanna talk big… like always in forums.
thx again for the rough figures, which will serve well.
