LP straight still keeps Balrog close and recovers -3 at worst. LP Ball, just like LP Headbutt, is just the safest option for an unsafe, momentum-destroying move (and Blanka’s is a whole lot less safe than that). Again, not seeing the comparison.
just wanna mention with the slide method… you won’t ever be getting EX electricity… EVER… unless you purposely do it… however… we have it even worse… we sometimes accidentally get FADC out of nowhere… and you are not even prepared to dash back for it… -_-;

capcom dev and balancing team are fucking retards. same goes to ono. he runs around in the world with his blanka figure and says he’s a fan. what did he do for blanka? nothing! if i was at a position like he is at capcom, i would’ve make sure the team wouldn’t ruin my favorite character. capcom and ono showed no love for blanka. that’s why they want the most hated character of the game on the bottom of the ranking.
it was too much to get a safe ball on hit, usable rainbow ball, knockdown for upball, full damage of ultra 2 ground attack after focus attack and better frame advantages for his normals.
they should have made his balls do 1 damage, just go all the way and make a statement. i would rather that just so i dont have to hear scrubs whine that the balls are still OP.
So last night i played some solid gief/ryu players without using ball. It wasn’t so bad. Gief was more or less just as easy overall. Ryu was a tad harder, this matchup goes to 5-5 imo. You can still use all your pokes to win fights. What really bugs me though is if you nerf ball… that’s fine but then make hop even better ;[ Give me faster recovery so that i’m even frames or even +1 after doing a s.LP xx hop or c.MK xx hop (etc)

I understand they got shorter, but then he says “risk on a long distance hard punch roll got higher” Does that mean a short range ball can still be safe in some cases? Like i know i think TOO positive sometimes… but WHAT IF after a certain amount of active frames (full screen spamming balls that online people hate) it has shitty pushback. but closerange balls vs shoto/gief/chun that all of us who don’t suck use pushback normal?
I know maybe i’m talking crazy… but it sounds legit to please the online scrubs but keep GOOD players … well… GOOD…
that being said i played air like 20 games and i was gonna post vids but now i’m all sad like it won’t matter since in a few weeks we have to change our playstyle.
So i’m still hopefull but. So honda/sagat both have this thing where their DP/Headbutt does more damage if it’s in the early frames. Maybe ball could have less pushback after a certain frame count. PLZ CAPCOM I WOULD BE OK WITH THIS.
I’ve stopped using Blanka balls except for lp altogether. I use the mp one for safe jump setups when I get a knockdown. I’m just trying to get better with footsies and up my game on those accounts. I don’t feel like Blanka is worth jumping ship over these changes.
I think that ultimately, when balancing a game, you want the characters that are top tier to be fun to play as and fun to play against. Everyone seems to hate Blanka, so it makes sense that they would nerf him into the ground. I think players will respect Blanka mains much more after these changes have happened.
If EX electricity has invincibility and comes out in 5 frames, we have a reversal that isn’t the best move out there, but is similar to Sagat’s TU.
yeah he would, i just rushed him down though. it’s hard for ryu to just foots with blanka. s.HP c.MP s.LP c.HK are all really good against him and he is at a disadvantage if we decide to fight it out with normals. Also in corners ryu has major issues dealing with mixups because his only real escape is to DP and that is easily beat by a hop on his wakeup. The problem comes down is when we trade combos his do like a bajillion times more and while i do have an advantage in the foots his damage output almost tips it in his favor. if i hit air with a c.MK… it does nothing… if he hits me with a c.MK he gets fireball, fadc c.MK xx tatsu… and in corner i’ts like c.MK xx fireball fadc, c.HP xx dp… now i’m stunned. Also his OS tech punishment dominates mine. The two that get me a knockdown is delayed cs.MP or c.MK into electrics or cs.MK which is better but it’s a 1 framer to get s.LP xx eletricity. While his are more like c.MP c.MP xx DP fadc ultra? =[ that being said he won the series and ball does help a lot when the game is a stalemate.
people respect people who manage to win with awful characters. I liked my half decent character, and it isn’t like I’ll feel more honorable winning with him when he’s garbage tier.
People hate Blanka because they suck at the game. If capcom is indeed going to make non traditional characters, you can’t just nerf them into the ground when they become playable(see Feurte). It’s just dumb and shows that Capcom has no intention of making a balanced game, they just want to appease people, instead of making the best game they can.
