after playing a long vs ryu set earlier i realised how much blanka’s short throw range really hurts him. i’m hoping they increase it in AE. even increasing his kara throw range would help him a lot.

Capcom has never listened to the players when balancing (and wisely so, some people ask for some really stupid stuff.)
The nerfs you are seeing are a change in developer principle. The battle manager believes that Blanka forces them to make concessions on other characters and their abilities so they’re nerfing him into the dirt. I recommend picking up a new character.

Am I correct in understanding that EX Electricity now only a 5f startup? Still pretty useless even if it is the case.
As a blanka user, ball nerf is a pain since we don’t have much tool as other characters.
BUT the real ridiculous thing is people can punsih the hitting ball. I don’t recall any other characters has special skill that you landed it successfully and still got punish. And only Blanka’s ball ( e.g rufus, sagat, abel ultra) If they block it, it makes sense to punish it …
i just don’t get what’s the point we got the ball for ?? now they just make it hit/block also punishable… Maybe it’s too early to judge the nerf ball, but hitting ball is already a joke for us.
and I am sure Capcom won’t care our message here… they just look at those threads base on the viewers number.
why don’t they just make it like Honda headbutt…LP/EX safe, can’t go throw fireball , faster speed, non-chargeable U2, knock down ball and nerf the damage…
lots of moves are punishable on hit, but you don’t get so long to confirm your punish because you aren’t generally in hitstun for so long with those other moves.

What an amazingly bad design philosophy. It’s like the people that cling to this notion that improper balance makes for better games haven’t played any other competitive games for the past 15 years.
Unless EX Elec has a bigger horiz hitbox or (lol) some type of startup invincibility, it will still be the “I messed up my piano/slide input” indicator.
I’m not the best (or even a good) Blanka player, but I’m just not seeing the validity of the “look on the bright side” arguments. “You’re not supposed to spam Blanka balls; you’re only supposed to combo them.” Ok, but Blanka’s “best” combo option is Elec. More damage, less scaling (because of the range), knockdown, pushes to wall, usually safe. Why not make Elec a bit less prone to whiffing or a little better for chip? Why not give him more/easier links to make Ball combos more common if we can’t use Ball for chip in certain matchups? Rockcrusher is the only compensation? And there’s still the high possibility that HP/MP Ball combos will still be punishable on hit by several characters (probably more).
I also don’t see how LP Ball is comparable to LK Scissors. LK Scissors keeps momentum going, on hit and block. LP Ball stops momentum cold, on hit and block, even if it’s completely safe (which I doubt).

I dont understand why I would use it instead of Lp elec unless I need a bit more damage to close out a round . unless it has some awesome reversal potential what good is it ?
