AE Changes and Comments

I think the main difference by making rock crusher better is to give a reason to use it, so that you can mix it up between rock crusher and overhead rock crusher. It’d be nice if they made the overhead version not so space specific, meaning that you could do it from any range. I think that’s one of the main things that sucked about it in the first place.

An eventhubs comment (of all places) gave me some clarity on the ball nerf that makes perfect sense:

They want the ball to be like scissors and headbutt, but since it has no whiff recovery, they modify the bounce back. The shitty part of course being that in my mind the trade off was the fact that those torpedoes caused knock down for it. Either way, it’s almost certain what they were thinking.

I wish the top players would say it also. Seeing how most of them do agree the game sucks anyway.(shout out to sponsors lol) But as long as the scrubs keep complaining, this already dumbdowned game will continue to get nerfed to all scrubby hell.

if lp ball is safe on block then I’m all for it . keeps me up in their face and gives me a good safe block string that bulids meter same as the shotos and otehr projectiles have

it really seems like Capcom just listens to the morons that whine about not being able to win in this game…

hah so possibly LP ball is safe on block. Also it would be nice if all balls looked exactly the same on use, they just had different stop distances and pushback. AKA if LP is safe on block also make it as fast as HP :wink:

Even if that was the case correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that the lp/lk version if Honda/dictator was trapped in the corner and did headbutt or scissors in the corner it wouldn’t mean it’s time for next round their moves will probably push the opponent far enough out so that this wouldn’t happen bs blanka even if lp and ex ball gave automatic safe ball bounce back blanka will still get owned.

I actually thought that was the intention all along… to make lp ball safe and make mp, hp not and remove that sometimes random factor into whether you get hit by, say, Guile’s EX sonic boom for doing a blocked ball. I also agree with foxisquick that if there is a clear penalty for using hp ball, all the balls should move at the same speed and same rotation and just stop at different distances.

I dunno about you guys… there’s definitely pros and cons to that… UNLESS they speed up LP/MP ball to HP ball speed (or faster) I’ll definitely agree with you… if they slow down HP ball speed to LP/MP ball (these two have similar speed imo) then expect to be jabbed out every single time… right now… if i do HP ball at LP safe ball distance… if they try to interupt my LP ball with jabs… they are pretty much guaranteed to get hit or at best TRADE with my HP ball… because of the speed difference/reaction time… if they slow down HP ball… there will no longer be this ‘mixup’ and HP ball will officially be useless… because there’s pretty much no reason to use it over MP ball…

if they speed LP/MP ball up… that’ll be awesome…

yeah just imagine like this.

at first we are like “oh crap ball can be punished on HP by things as simple as walk forward sweep” which would suck… but then if they said ok… LP/MP/HP move at the same speed (EX faster) but LP is safe on hit either from pushback or just blockstun. But MP/HP are not really safe. That would A) stop the bad online players who rage about ball… cuz now HP ball can’t just be spammed. B) make blanka stronger in high level play because there is a ball that is safe in all situations you just have to launch it at closer ranges.

i mean honestly that would be a change to the character’s options… but that still makes him strong vs like gief and other people but you should be somewhat close to those guys anyway so it’s easy to AA them and poke them… and POSSIBLY ball them.

Im guessing lp ball is the same as it is now and all the other balls are much less safe

Hey Bush, I seen two of your fights last night on the XBL NewReplays page (a cammy, then a ryu). Some really nice stuff with cr.lk>cr.lk>st.lp>rolls (the timing kills me on those), some other nice tricks too; lpball back-dash cr.hk bluffs (worked twice on that ryu, haha!). It’s a pity there is no way to filter the replays by name, enjoyable stuff to watch. :slight_smile:

The Blanka nerfs make me sad.I don’t really think that Blanka needed that Ball nerf at all.
I mean almost half of the roster is already able to punish balls on block and even on hit.

Under the right circumstances, everyone can except T.Hawk can punish ball on block. Check the vid I posted in Viscant’s thread.

Even considering that my character possibly lost his only tool to punish pre-AE balls (Gouken)…this is just ridiculous news.

Doesnt sound all that bad to me I guess. I dont really use hp./mp. beastroll often so making those unsafe on block doesnt bother me much. All the other shit isnt that bad. The rainbow ball being changed so its not so good to use to get out of the corner is very disappointing. Just sounds like you’ll have to play blanka a bit smarter. It really sounds like they made it so scrubs cant just spam blanka balls and other such things.

I’ll still play blanka, I dont care.
