The only possible one would be ball FADC, whatever. You are +2 in console so it wouldn’t be that unreasonable considering it works on counterhit now.

i can imagine electricity FADC into U2…

i’ll give it a shot but don’t expect an answer soon… given that i suck at dash ultra… i’m spoiled with hop ultra which is 10x easier.

now that you say that, i do remember seeing jab xx hp elec able to connect twice again more often like in Vanilla. Wasnt so good in Super because of the pushback. Maybe I’m just seeing things…

Should have gotten better if not stayed the same cos Blanka can’t use ball in that match anyway, and Boxer got nerfed. Dunno if Boxer can punish EX Ball corner escape though.

if anything it would be clsoer to 5-5… i still think it’s 6-4. even in AE based on changes. You still can’t ball but he can AA c.HP, dash punch you, has c.LP/c.HK/s.HK. j.HP is worse now from what i’m hearing and that was big in this matchup.

I’d just finished reading that article. Too bad none of those guys main blanka so they could at least drop some info on how exactly those moves got buffed and if new combos are possible with them lol

no joke if c.HP is really better frame wise this is like enormous for blanka. That is a crazy good poke and a solid AA for certain distances. It can be cancelled… it’s just really a good normal. It’s only draw back is it’s - a lot. If they could make it something like -6 or -7 i would probably shit myself.

boxer vs blanka match imo.

The good:
headbutt nerf and i think combo into U1 is weaker…

The bad:
cl.MP? is now a new combo link that forces standing… meaning i can imagine new combos that used to be safe for Blanka (due to him having a great awkward crouch) might now connect… kinda like… boxer needs to do c.MP into headbutt to guarantee the headbutt hit… if they use the regular combo it’s gonna whiff… but c.MP is much harder to link.

I think overall… Blanka vs Boxer is now a bit easier.

  2. ball nerf doesn’t make any difference.
  3. ex rainbow… improvement means A LOT…
  4. ex electricity buff… boxer was a bit weak against electricity in the first place… i can imagine ex electricity buff might be a useful tool against him

i forgot the frame adv. after lvl 2 FA blocked… anybody know about this? I’ve been using it more recently and i can’t tell if my opponent just suck (more likely because of where i’m playing) or if this really has gotten buffed…

first reports of console sfiv were cr.hp looked buffed, first reports of ssfiv were cr.hp looks buffed, first reports of ae are that cr.hp looks buffed. i think the problem is that youtube vids make moves look faster because of the low framerate, that and people are actually using the move for once in hopes that its been buffed and actually hit people with it because its actually somewhat effective when used sparingly/randomly.

i’d like a buffed cr.hp but i dont think it would make a big difference unless they went crazy with frame chopping, its an OK move, its got long range, but a very average hitbox, is slow on startup and very slow on recovery. if focus attacks didn’t exist it’d be a GOOD move, but since a focus attack gobbles up this move (and all of blankas footsies except st.lp) most blanka players dont really use it much unless they’re dumb.

i don’t think focus is a huge deal. you could just dash cancel it and then slide when they whiff. Speed i think isn’t what i want, i want better recovery on it.

in ssfiv blocked lvl 2 is +1

dash forward is actually solid against characters that don’t have 3 frame normals. Sim getting b.lk nerfed should help you up close because you can FA dash forward and he can’t just push you off.

Recovery buff on cr.hp would be nice indeed.

honestly i feel like if any of those moves are buffed they might be bigger hitboxes… and not the frames…
and once again… I hate reporting if the range of a certain move is improved or not… because honestly it’s just simply too freaking hard to compare…

and even when AE is available for console… it’s still hard to tell unless someone does one of those hitbox video things you can never be sure.

Yesterday I had lots of success against honda using c.HP as anti air… I normally don’t use that but for some reason i instinctively used it… and was successful… but honestly I have no idea… if it was

A) c.HP is improved.
B) I got lucky
C) my opponent fucked up on his timing of his attack
D) my opponent’s character ve got nerfed…

it could be ANY one of these and these and it will make me feel c.HP (or insert another move) hit box has been improved.

as of now… the only thing I know for definite is

A) ex rainbow buffed… (funny how everyone thought was a nerf before… until actually playing it)
B) horizontal ball nerfed.
C) slide active frames got cut short so it can be both a buff or nerf… but seems for the better than the worse.
D) Rockcrusher but the change AS OF NOW… doesn’t seem that apparent… simply because you knocked them too far out and landing a s.LP afterwards although is possible is probably more like a 1 frame-link due to the push out range.

LAU - can you still punish Honda HP headbutt with the new slide? What about OS slide on teleport characters?

Lakercrono - Yes to Honda MP and HP headbutt… nothings changed there, OS slide… haven’t had the chance… haven’t got a chance to play too many teleport characters (everybody that uses them have been too busy playing with ‘super’ characters or Yun/Yang… or they play Boxer/E.Honda against me)… but this is a good question considering the active frame is less… it MIGHT not work anymore, but i think we should still be ok here…

I messed around with Blanka today in AE and somehow (if my eyes didn’t deceive me) I linked cr.HK off of cr.LK (registered as a 2-hit combo) on CPU Dudley. I’m not sure if it was counter hit or not so I tested it in training mode on Super at home and I haven’t been able to land it for some reason, even though according to frame data it should work. Could someone else double check?

cr.LK -> cr.HK…ehmmm…that would be…ehhh…GODLIKE!!!

only way i know of is CH.st.far.MP -> cr.HK

if this would be possible:
j.HK -> cr.LK -> cr.LK -> cr.LK -> cr.HK or
FA2 -> cr.MK -> cr.LK -> cr.HK

hagenNORKANOIA you don’t need a counter-hit to link cr.hk. Just do your normal really meaty so that you are +6f in total. cr.lk has 3 active frames and is +4 on hit. If your cr.lk connects on the last active frame you should be at +6f (add the first two active frames that don’t connect), which is a 1f link into cr.hk. On counter-hit you should be at +7f, but I’m not 100% sure if there’s extra frame advantage off Blanka’s CH cr.lk
