Talked to 666, he wants to keep his changes private but what he said he does not want j.mk back, he wants capcom to change Yangs playstyle, he wants Yang to be differentiated from Fei Long as he thinks if Yang gets stronger and Fei Long weaker, there would be no reason to play Fei Long as Yang can do what Fei can and more, so he wants capcom to give a reason play Fei over Yang vice versa.
i can see his point. i wonder what he could be thinking tho. is he fine with his current tools and just wants those made better? is the current yang too close to fei? so many questions
yang has to retain his style : rushdown character with mixups and he needs his j mk back it will be more than enough … ans that’s what capcom will do…
Yeah changing him back to Oki-style is probably the only way to really retain his style without buffing him into being Fei-long. And that’s most likely what’s going to happen. They returned Oki-pressure to Cammy, despite her getting a million of buffs, to make up for it when enough people complained about the previous version. They’ll certainly return it to Yang after the million nerfs he got in Ver. 2012.
if they can find a way to make ex palm more useful in the oki game , i will be delighted… that and giving more invincibility frames and less recovery to teleport , then welcome to the top tier land yang !!!
Balance adjustment opinions from Japan. Yang is the third highest voted character for adjustment requests. People want his offense and options improved as well as a stamina buff to 950. Also, a buff to his stand medium kick.
If you can improve his cross-up Jump MK or increase his damage, I think he’ll become a fun character as a result.
But yeah, I think they will probably make at least one very significant buff to Yang now that we see how discussed he has been in japan compared to the rest of the cast :]

I don’t know why but this seems worrisome to me. It’s like they’re too afraid of him being good or him being given anything. Like giving damage to the current version of Yang would make him too good when there’s Evil Ryu and Sakura who do 400 damage with two bars and have oki-pressure.
Yang can actually do 330 damage with two bars, too bad it’s an unplinkable 1-frame link. I’m actually just jealous of characters meterless damage, Yang can only do 222 with a 1-frame link, but other characters can do more with a simple cancel into special, Ken stand roundhouse xx fierce shoryuken is 250 damage.
Well, no matter how tiny buffed we get, I’ll be happy to be buffed at all!
Good news, I think they are afraid of giving him more damage output IF his J.mk is back and some few buffs (like health).
I must admit Yang has a really good offense, his corner pressure is awesome, if his J.mk is back alone, Yang will just be a way better because this move is REALLY ambiguous.
I would prefer J.mk, build meter on palm, and 4f st lk instead of damage.
I would love for divekicks not to have the landing lag that they have now, they just seem REALLY clunky, otherwise they’re nice.

buff teleports somehow (reduce start-up?)
give cr.LK a very slight vertical hitbox buff, currently yang can do cl.MK, dive cl.MK, dive cr.LK teleport to land on either side for unreadble mix-up, but because of the clunkiness of divekick and how hard it is to juggle with cr.LK it’s not completely feasible in match.
5-10 damage increase on all lights (is there any other character in the game with 20 damage normals?), this is really all the damage he should need.
I would love to see something unique come out of the patch. this is a year in the making so it would be nice if it felt somehow special and not just minor tweaks here or there. I’m always a fan of seeing a character’s gameplan change with each rendition. I would love to see his juggle potential rise, possibly adding juggle potential to slashes, but that’s more of a wishlist thing that probably won’t happen, I’ve always been slightly disappointed in how yangs combos operate in relation to how awesome the character looks.
another possibility is to make the first or second hit of EX slashes have +4 on hit to allow for decent damage on 1 bar…though that would probably be too good with how they currently work.

He needs all of that. And even with that, he wouldn’t be good as yun imo, but he’ll easily be a character worth playing in contrast to his current form.
Yeah he won’t be as good. He’d still have less priority in his pokes and a worse frame-trap game and if his cross-up isn’t consistent then a worse oki-game.
I would really love to have a decent cross up with yang, some damage, and more hitstun on his dive kicks… Thats all that i want for him. i tried to do a cross up yesterday and i forgot he can’t do it midscreen on some characters D:
Balance changes for Yang so far:
_faster walk speed
_Shorter start up on Standing Light Kick (but not as AE’s one)
_better jumping medium kick
Nice but I really don’t undersant why Capcom would improve walk speed.

A faster walk speed paired with a faster st.lk will make his groundgame much more effective. Yang’s AE st.lk was such an underrated tool.
I’m still not sure wether or not Yang actually deserves a crossup. If his new j.mk is as retarded as his j.mk was in AE, I’d say Yang has a good chance at being toptier (depending on the buffs others receive ofcourse) or atleast being really good.
These buffs are more than enough if they decide to go with it.
