I see, I understand then.
In this sense then I think it’ll be good to mix this “meaty rocket slide” with “safe slide”

yes my point exactly ! they are really useful …
I appreciate all the help that you guys are giving with all of these set-ups and such. I hope I wouldn’t drive you crazy to ask what exactly b.FD is. back> focus > dash?
Hakan tech vol 2
A lot of this isn’t practical, just showing simply what’s possible. There’s some nifty stuff in here that I literally only found while I was making the video! Enjoy.

Lol some sick stuff in this… Loved the links in the end… DAMAGE!
I was just wondering… That last setup with the whiff grab into super… I’m wondering if LK dive works without getting stuffed… Hmmm… (I’m away for a while can’t test :(… )
@Dagon
b.FD translates to back-focus-dash.
I believe the correct term should be Focus-back-dash or focus-forward-dash, but due to unify reason I’ve try to put any of the ‘forward’ or ‘backward’ term at the start of the abbreviation.
Hopefully it’s all understandable.
It should work, I showed it at the start with the sweep setup. Unfortunately this dive setup doesn’t work on characters with long backdashes like Rose.
Looking forward to putting all this info to use, to the OP, it might help to organize the setups by putting the triple star setups at the beginning, and then using spoilers to organize the others by the UKD (untechable knockdown, e.g. cr.hk, oiled f+hk, rocket, dive etc). Like:
cr.hk
-cr.hk, 2xfwd.dash, lk.dive
-cr.hk, f+mp, mk.dive
f+hk (oiled)
-f+hk, bwd.dash, fwd.dash, lk.dive
double star setups
[details=Spoiler]cr.hk
-c.hk > s.mk > hk dive ] -by mordie
-c.hk > c.HK > lk dive ] -by samuraidrew
-(oiled) c.HK > dash back > ex.dive ] -by
-c.hk > s.hp/s.hk > mk.dive ] -by yakult99
[/details]
etc, the first post should show the setups that are automatic and can’t be avoided by crouching, jumping, or backdashing. Just a suggestion, but it might help with readability.
Thanks for the clarification!
There are so many new setups now, its overwhelming tbh. I need a solid day in the training room.
Totally, what I would try and do is nail down all the three star setups, i.e the ones that catch backdash, crouch and jump. These are gold.
fuzzy j.MK:
----------------
(works ONLY on: dudley, seth, abel, sagat, zangief, t.hawk)
- after slide-press:
(dry), dash,dash,jf.MK
cr.HP, jf.MK
- after HK/EX rocket:
>HK, jf.MK** (timing not exact… if you find a better timing pls let me know it drove me mad ) **
- after dive:
dash, jf, jf.MK
- after (oil) >HK:
cr.HK, jf.MK
NOTE:
these setups beat crouch, and jump …
not recommended for mid match as they are highly punishable …
dive setups pretty much do everything these setups do and better (if not easier as well)
but if you feel like trolling they’re cool match enders
enjoy
Safe wakeup reversal SRK bait
I will like someone to confirm this. Not exactly sure why this works for me (back dash and block OS ?):
Against Ryu,
(oiled) c.hk, jf.hk, fbdc c.lk
What happens:
I tested it with other characters and works for a couple of them. For example against Chun Li if she do a reversal ex. spinning wheel kick you don’t get hit, looks weird.
Advance technique:
(oiled) c.hk, jf.hk, fbdc c.lk+c.lp with OS slide.lp continue motion for a delayed SPD.
What happens:
Hakan’s c.hk eats shoto’s tatsus, so this technique can be used easily during a match to bait reversal SRK.
Also, I just noticed that doing SPD.lp and then shower.hk you get about 75% charge for an ex… this changed my game plan, use SPD.lp + shower.hk, get super easy, punish SRK with super…
Not sure if anybody else knows this, but it seems that any of the setups that involve slide, press, whiff s.MP, jump, blah blah can actually also be done after 360k. You just do DDT, neutral jump, then forward jump. Replacing the s.MP with the neutral jump adjusts the timing of the forward jump so you can do all the same setups. Given that the 360k is so much easier to land now, this is pretty useful.
Hakan mirror dive setups:
-------------------------------------
i noticed many setups whiff on hakan … so i came up with a few … this should help in the mirror match
- after slide-press:
LP slide, LK dive
cr.HP, HK/EX dive
- after dive:
st.MP, jf, HK dive
- after HK/EX rocket:
f.HK, HK dive
- after MK rocket:
MP slide, MK dive
- after cr.HK:
f.LK, HK/EX dive
- after (oil) f.HK:
f.MK, HK dive
i hope you find this useful … this matchup has been annoying me for a while … lol
This is actually really good Nybb. I have seen this used before but you’re right it’s a great safejump after Oil Dive and not enough people are aware of it. Great stuff.
One slight issue is it seems to be avoidable by crouching but that’s not major if the opponent isn’t aware of the setup, and in Hakans case there’s a high chance lol.
i dont get it >_> … can you please elaborate on the bla bla ? >>
just for the record …
slide-press, nj, MK dive … the setup that beats all 3 options … looses to makotos backdash … (it cost me a ranked match and im so bitter … >__> )
slide-press, LP slide, LK dive … works on her though eliminating all 3 options …
heres a setup for the bank holiday
(dry) jf.MP (air-air), f.HK reset, LK dive
It definitely works on Makotos backdash, I was messing with it in training today, you just have to be really quick with the Dive. This is like instantly as you touch the ground, as quick as possible, need to get used to the timing.
Oh and what do you mean? Well after Oil Dive, neutral jump followed by jump forward HK is a safe jump and will make reversals whiff, it’s really good for continuing pressure.
