AE 2012 requests for chun

LOL maybe the wrong forum but I have been playing a LOT of Ibuki recently and my Ibuki is now at a level that I feel is legit so I like what they have done, her t+RH improvement is good but it still doesn’t seem as it’ll be as good as it is in 3’s

I like the Ultra1 buff I might even use that Ultra sometimes now, only thing I really think they should have fixed but haven’t is her TC (lp-mp-hp) should stand opponents up so it doesn’t whiff, as it whiffs currently on a lot of the cast.

Chun seems like she will still be high-mid tier but she is still worse off then a lot of the cast as a lot of them have been given meaningful buffs (like Juri, gouken, honda etc…) and Chun hasn’t really

Damn Im salty, we got nothing. Even the ultra fix is only on people falling out after the launcher hit (meaning rose etc) nothing else. All the mid and low got buffed except my mains (chun, guy). I dont feel im gonna like AE2012 at all.

Capcom give us:
-Super version df.lk, minus the reset. We dont want the reset, but the anti air is useless right now.
-A true combo to fireball or at least non jumpable blockstring to fireball (meaning better cr.mk or faster kikoo or more blockstun on st.mp).
-rework ex legs so that it does 4 hits on everyone but with the oki of the 3 hits, or at least give us back vanilla damage.
Seriously capcom give us something

Or you could just stop jumping in so much and learn to advance to your opponent by walking.

She is fine. I think some people want a free ride when it comes to buffs. Instead of focusing on fundamentals, they expect to win on pure gimmick/shenanigans. Chun has the best pokes in the game, you simply need to use your head, know your matchups and capitalize when damage opportunities arise.

My only wish was that tenshoukyaku (informally known as her upkick to most) wasnt associated with a target combo. Capcom probably feels this move would give her too much of an advantage in controlling vertical space. Its not the end of the world though.

Anyone looking for a “broken” Chun can simply pick up SF3:3SO…

I play Dudley.

I bet you feel pretty bad right now huh. Picking on a Dudley main… how could you.

She’s not. Super chun was fine, except maybe trade df.lk to ultra and even that, ryu, sagat, viper (boxer i think) also got it and with more damage. Her poke are great but in sf4 with focus system involved and since chun doesnt have a reliable focus break. it’s not enough. She got no life, no great anti air, no great bnb even with meter (seriously cr.lk*2 ex legs do what 156? a simple srk do the same damage).

Empty jump uppercut it for free damage. (Well, Dudley might have to EX uppercut cause his normal uppercuts are crap, but still)

-Edit, On topic, I feel like Chun’s biggest buffs are Yun’s and Viper’s nerfs, I’d say Akuma too, but the big Akuma change (the throw time change) isn’t even relevant to the Chun/Akuma matchup, so that’s not likely to change at all.

Except that her cr.rh hits you before you land.

not if you empty jumped, do you play sf4 right?

Obvious troll. :coffee:

Lol not sure if you’re serious…

Chun is not fine. Chun li will still get raped in tournment play. For on-line or causal play…she is fine. In tourments, Chun generally eats a huge focus, and 1/3 of her life is gone from top tier characters. Her wake up is still too weak and she has low life so 1 - 2 mistakes with her and its over. Chun players need to play close to perfect and they just can’t go thru the ladder playing like that the whole time.

Sure I saw a Chun knock Daigo’s ryu out in a japanese tournment but that was rare. Nemo never makes it very far playing Chun. Alot of top chun players have dropped her for a reason…she simply is not viable in top level play.

other buffs she needs are more damage, more life and/or better wake up.

either cr.mp and cr.rh can be empty jumped into srk fadc u1 from ryu, try it in training, just jump and hold db, you land on top of the normal blocking it and then reversal srk.

about nemo not making it far with chun --> lol

Whilst I agree Chun has issue at tournament level its more to do with which characters are her bad match ups and the amount they get used combined with the fact that you do have to be on point as you mentioned with Chun. She has plenty enough ways to deal with focus imo as well I’m not really sure what options other characters have to deal with it that she doesn’t? Arguably her best normal (st. strong) is cancelable into EX Legs for one plus she has multiple multi-hit moves, a godlike walk speed and backdash and lets be honest her own focus isn’t poor.

Also highlighted this part of your comment because Nemo doesn’t use Chun anymore but correct me if I am wrong didn’t he actually win God Garden with her before he quit the game to settle down and get married?

She can still hit you out of the air with cr. rh even if you empty jump. Range/timing matters.

Edit: Mowr, Dee Jay is the only other character I know of that can use cr. rh as an anti air… but it’s a unique tool and I’m pretty sure she’s always had it in SF… get used to it.

I definately need to start utilizing that.

I was hoping for that too, at least from f+MK that you can kara but nets nothing lolol. IN OUR DREAMS

Happy with the current outlook, however, I have a feeling that those changes are mainly for fan reaction and to let players know what’s up during then 'cause it clearly states that the changes are for the loketest on the blog. How much they retain from these changes is the question now.

Overall, just glad that they have intentions to fix UC1 drop. Undo buttons for Chun. lol

Lol.

of course she can hit you out of the air, but its not like 10 out of 10 times, like you said is about timing and range.

and yes wii nemo DID won a godsgarden with chun, so many epic moments too (and the focus lv1 is +1 on block btw)

Chun didn’t get her df lk back amongst other buffs my obscure dream of her getting leg weights so she isn’t so floaty will always be just that, a dream she coudla used and yang got raped.

My mains since st and 3s getting this treatment makes me very :frowning:

Oh well. Guess I just gotta take these and just work harder on winning.
