Difference between the above clip and my own is that the Bison I crossed up with J.RH was standing and blocking high.
So far I have successfully crossed up:
Bison (J.RH)
Gouken (J.RH) - Only works during Goukens Focus Attack - His Body goes forward during his kick // release, enough that your J.RH will hit him at the back of the head and land you behind him for a followup. I’ve done this twice, successfully - Once it counter-hit his release and another time the J.RH was absorbed, but both times I landed behind him to punish for free.
Rufus (NJ.FP) - Only works if you early neutral jump on a Rufus who then uses Ultra (Such as a Rufus wakeup Ultra) - Completely unviable because I’m the only type of scrubby player who’d even bother to walk up to a waking Rufus and, just before he can attack, neutral jump - If you do this and forward wiggle, Rufus seems to push himself forward during the early Ultra frames, so you hit him at the back of the head and land behind him. This coulld, in theory, also apply to a JRH but I never tested this further.
Ontop of that I also hear J.LK from Balrog can cross up multiple characters as well. Here’s my recordings (Non. JLK)

I can’t seem to find the clip I uploaded of the Rufus neutral jump crossup vs his Ultra… I delete quite a lot of videos if they’ve been uploaded for a long time but don’t have many views so it likely got lost. Either way it’s no great loss considering the completely obscene and unviable nature of the scenario anyway.
ex.dash low into anything is really good imo. Like I abuse ex.dash low, st.hk. ex.dash low is -3 on block (versus lp.dash low which is -8). Not only is it pretty un-punishable on block, but the pushback is so great, that for most characters quick pokes, it’s out of range, but well in counter-poke range of st.hk. Also a really good Maeda Taison U1/super setup if you do it from half-screen and they block and try to reversal.
not to mention its hella hard to get grabbed out of. I’ve been practicing dash ultra non stop for a while now. Focus dash ultra punishes so many things.
true, the effective range for dash low can be spaced where you’re out of reaction grab range. Definitely harder with ex.dash low, but possible at like 3/4 screen. Focus dash Ultra 2 punishes everything… =]
Will we ever get boxer punishes 4? Maybe for adon (because of gamerbee destroying pr balrog) or fei.
And what about that safe jump video?
I’ve been in the lab so if you need anything for your vid I got you.
I made a safe jump video a long time ago. There probably are some more, but as far as automatic (e.g. no slight delays, walk forward etc) safe jumps go, that video probably contains them all. Either in the video specifically for safe jumps, or in the option-select video during setups.
Currently i’m in the middle of the frame trap video, i’ve got a lot of material but i feel like i’m missing something, so if you’ve got anything in that area, inbox it to me and maybe it’ll give me what i’m looking for. I dunno when i’ll do another punish video. Balrog Adon is a bit even, or really close IMO. We can chit-chat about it in the Matchup thread if you don’t agree or want my opinion on the matchup. Just post in there and i’ll reply.
I’m no Balrog player as you can see from my avatar. But today I was shocked by what happens at 9:09 of this video. Can someone explain this to me? What that is, why no ex-meter was spent, how there was no dash animations and how this is done.
It’s a property of the bug, you can cancel specials with armor into other specials with higher priority. So if the higher priority special doesn’t cost meter, it doesn’t use meter. For example ex.dash armor cancelled into TAP, doesn’t use any meter, but ex.dash punch armor cancelled into ex.hb does. The “initial” attack doesn’t count.
