That sounds right, thanks. +4 on hit would make c.lk hit (1frame - which does feel like 1 frame), c.lp would be 2 frames but I guess it doesn’t reach.
Using the frame data from this website:
Light kick JK is -3 on hit and -2. SPD on hit and possible combo/SPD on block.
Medium kick JK -2 on block and -1 on hit. SPD on block.
Hard kick JK is -2 on block, and -1 on hit. SPD on block.
EX JK -2 block. SPD on block.
There is no data for JT. I assume because of the way it can hit at different heights. This data seems more correct but I haven’t verified so take caution.
If anyone has tips for the dhalsim matchup, holla at your boy. I got raped by a semi-decent sim earlier today, and being a sim main in vanilla I’m a little upset that I couldn’t sneak my way in with all of adon’s tricky tricks.
this may be old, but vs akuma s.rh you can FA 1 hit, dash forward under the next hit for a grab or whatever low hit combo. i think i did this against another 2 hit move too but i cant remember which one so there may be potential there.
another random setup i came up with is going for wakeup crossup mk into tick throw until your opponent wants to tech, then you do crossup mk, s.mk, c.mk super. s.mk pushes them back a lot, way out of throw range.
super with mashed punches at the end does decent chip damage if your opponent has low life its good for the ko. bigger characters take the most chip obviously and if they are crouching it wont do as much. its super situational and gimmicky but it may work for someone in a jam some time =p
How can Adon counter a level 3 focus attack from outside his throwing range when he wakes up? With other characters I’d just backdash, but… Adon doesn’t really have a backdash, does he?
Rising Jaguar will break focus and knock them out of it. On wakeup you’d probably want HK, but maybe someone will correct me (all versions break focus, right?)
Rising jaguar is unsafe if they just cancel the focus attack and backdash (which is what they’ll do most of the time), and hk has too slow startup, I didn’t try it but I’m sure it’ll get beaten if the focus attack is timed right.
U just have to zone like crazy. Focus on your normal attacks, most of your special attacks will put u in his comfort zone. S.RH works awesome in this fight. Also try to bait out the larait.
dont know why people have a hard time vs Sim, they all play the same, jump back FP, throw a fireball teleport. If you see them jumping back its kind of like well i might as well to rising jag or jag kick to get in, or jag tooth to get over fireballs, and even his teleport I jab him out of it every time. Though Ive yet to play a good sim, so I guess ill wait to find one.
I love giefs who try to throw me after jag tooth cause ill jump up and combo him every time
from my limited sim experience. i use a lot of jaguar kicks. they knock sim out of the air. mk goes over his s.hp. and lk might too. i cant remember. this actually seems like a matchup in adon’s favor.
As I said before, if I’m knocked down and my opponent times his level 3 focus attack at the moment when I’ll stand up, and sometimes he cancels it into backdash at the last moment, some other times he completes it, how am I supposed to get out safely?
Throw won’t work because he stays just out of my throw range. HK and jaguar kick will not start up in time. Rising jaguar is unsafe and I’ll get punished half of the times.
Remember the first days of SF4 when people were discovering the focus system and everybody was doing level 3 focus attacks on fallen opponents and most of the time they would fall for it because they didn’t know how to backdash to safety?
try ex rising jaguar. it has range and speed. if he backdashes that just means he baited you. if he’s doing it at a distance where your lk or ex rising jaguar will miss then you should have time to backdash on wakeup.
Well, if the only answer I have is ex rising jaguar that’s a huge disadvantage compared to characters with a good backdash who can just get away for free every time. It’s basically a 50/50 mixup.
The ST answer is to not get into a situation where your opponent has knocked you down and is comfortable enough in his momentum to charge a level 3 focus.
Beyond that, backdash is still a viable tool, even if it’s not ideal. Between backdash and rising knee, you have options that will make them question whether or not to do it at all, and beyond that, it’s just a matter of who reads the other better. The advantage is with them on your wakeup, as it should be, but you aren’t at all helpless.
