One of the things I don’t understand is how other players let gamerbee get away with unsafe jumps, gamerbee often starts walking back more than he should to make j mk cross up and his opponents never challenge him, even Daigo when he almost never baits the DP.
So true … have seen him live now twice and he often uses unsafe mix ups … especially after b.throw … he told me that he is just testing his opponent … when they don’t challenge the jump in he just continues with unsafe but very ambiguous jump ins … if they reversal his jump ins … than he goes for regular safe jumps …
But it is also the “Top player factor” … that let them not DP his mix ups … Xian is also often using unsafe stuff … it is like "oh … this guys are pros … they don’t do unsafe stuff … my DP will whiff or it is safe … " …
Adon does not have a lot of stuff which is safe against 3 frame DPs or let a delayed/autocorrect DPs whiff … so if Adon faces a shoto … he always has the risk to eat a delayed DP … especially against Ryu.
But against >5 frame DPs … Adon can just go nuts … XD
Isn’t it a risk against those characters too? Anytime you walk back after b throw or wait until their hurtbox is raised you can be DPed from what I’ve experienced.
Not in all cases … if your step back is only ~ 12 frames than you have a safe jump timing … sure … timinig is tricky … but doable … my problem there is more that I do not know myself if I will hit cross up or not and therefore don’t know where to block … XD … so if you get DPed it can happen that you would be safe but simple block the wrong direction …
Someone tried to use the cr hp after an iajk , because now we can redfocus it and it’s the best way to combo the ultra I , it does something like 485 damage at best and 425 with w ultra.
But is seems to be character and distance specific , i have no problem to combo with the sweep after the iajk but with the cr hp , it’s not the same , it’s doesn’t seems to work against a crouching Rose
It is the same … just feels a bit different … I implemented it already … it is still expensive but worth training it !!! IAJK needs to hit a crouching char and than you can hit confirm into cr.hp … like with sweep … both are 9 framer …
Found a video the other day with this very OS which I wanted to show to GamerBee as I’ve never seen him do it. The timing is not super strict to be honest. You just have to find the rhythm. When you do it, if they don’t backdash, the light attacks will not combo/chain so you could get blown up with a yolo uppercut - but doesn’t everything! Here’s the clip:
Nice one … very good use of EX JT against Poison … there is this good portion of random stuff you need to do against Posion … otherwise she will keep you out forever.
But why should this OS not be able to combo if the cr.lp/lk goes on hit/block ? You normally input the OS sweep in the recovery of the cr.lk … and you should be able to just combo off from it like a regular link … can you explain why you think it will not combo ? Adons crouching light will never chain … only the st.lp can be chained after … which gives you a regular light OS sweep light … but you want to use the cr.lk OS …
Well… that was just my experience from some preliminary testing. You can try it out, maybe you can get it to combo and prove me wrong (it would be awesome if it does combo!). I tried it and I couldn’t get it to combo. From my (admittedly limited) experience, when the crHK and crLP are too close together, it becomes a plink and because HK is prioritised over LP, you got HK instead.
Didn’t realise Adon had a chain, that’s a nice surprise, though perhaps not super versatile.
I thought the frame trap of choice was cr.lp st.hp, but I see Gamerbee only using close st.mk, isn’t that a much larger gap than close st.hp? How do you incorporate it into your game?
You guys know what causes NJ HK cr lp hk rj to whiff the cr lp on some characters? I’ve noticed it happens with small hitbox characters and even more in the corner, the cr lp whiffs and the hk rj doesn’t combo.
Also, another one: how can I tell if I got the Instant air jaguar kick right? I mean, I’m getting all manner of fast AJKs… I just dunno if I’ve got the input right.
NJ HK causes a slight push back, so as you said, when the opponents character has a smaller hitbox. That could cause the issue. However if you more the less are standing on the opponents head when the HK hits, then there shouldn’t be any problems hitting the combo.
Hmm, hard to explain, if you do it as low as possible, it will look very smooth, like one motion. Another thing that could indicate it, is that you will be able to connect a swep when the IAJK hits.
