Adon AE changes for 2012 Edition

What? So Adon can be hit out of JKs? So stupid.

I think there should be changes like these:

  • Decrease the hittable areas of light and medium Jaguar Kicks
  • Wake-up time reduced to SSF4 time
  • A command normal (his cl.HK)
  • His cr.HK start-up time reduced by 1-2f

I don’t know just those would do but change the hittable area to normal standards. That’s a pretty dick move, Capcom.

That’s not to be happy about, knowing that the hittable area of his Jaguar kicks has increased. I’ll probably see him getting countered more often now.

i’ll still use adon regardless of the buffs, just have to adapt to changes…Again
btw it does suck that his low and medium jaguar kicks have a bigger hurtbox :shake:

wow who attends these location tests to make Capcom come to these conclusions?

Adons jks could be nasty, but fact is he wasnt really powerful. They weaken his only remaining powerful tool imo and give nothing back.
Oh well ill be sticking with Adon no matter what, but I had hoped for something that wasnt a nerf, even if they left him alone.

Cls mk is almost useless in AE.

I don’t really understand this nerf, I regret more and more the super, I really hate to fight the twins and 950 stamina with a normal wake-up is just a nonsense to me.

During this time Gief isn’t nerf :frowning:

So they give the best tool of Ryu, the hadouken, a buff. But the ONLY tool Adon has for pressure gets jacked.

My fellow Adon players,

it is really the time, to start an official petition to get rid of Yoshinori Ono as the current Street Fighter 4 producer. This man has a really weird and crazy opinion about character balancing in fighting games. He really need some help. But we need someone who really KNOWS how to balance this wonderful game, that could give us so much joy.

Nerfing his Adon furhter after the original AE is only a proof to one thing: there are obviously very foolish and incompetent employees responsible for the feedback on the characters and/or the balance itself.

All of you out there, who are reading this and are unsatisfied with the work of Ono and his SSF4 AE dev team: don’t just sit there and sigh. We all need to react and complain now about this, or adon will remain for the rest of his SSf4 AE era like this. Remember: there won’t be any changes or updates after AE 2012. So we all now need to fight for our Jaguar!

well we have a topic on the unity forums and I for one have been spamming Ono with messages suggesting different Adon buffs. Today I told him congratulations on making Adon even weaker for no reason… probably wont make a difference, I havent seen a reply from him yet. We all should message him though… this change is unacceptable when characters like Bison and Gief (who dont need anything) are receiving buffs.

nice idea @EvilSigh. I will also tweet the mushroom face and congratulate him on sensless nerfs for Adon and tell him what a good producer he is.

I tweeted him, and plan to continue doing so. I won’t be rude, but we do need to let him know this is complete BS. I just want my Super Adon back. Is that too much to ask? That’s the Adon I paid for before he forced all of these changes down our throats. He was FINE and he should have been left as he was.

Spammable moves like Bison’s scissors Kick and Balrog dash punches are safe and untouched, but it is Adon that get’s the smack down ?!

Well fuck it. I’ve been thinking about switching chars for a while and here’s a good reason. Yun is unwinnable unless the player sucks. Without the fast wakeup you can see how weak adon is against rushdown and I’m pretty fucking tired of having to play a flawless, almost prophecy game to win while the other players can walk backwards and do safe shit. Every jaguar kick you do risks an ultra if the player buffered and in the end, adon footsies just aren’t good against a lot of the chars and his hitconfirms are ass. When fei, a slow walking character, walks backwards, there just isn’t anything you can do, at all. Even dash throw and everything else whiffs. I’m tired of chasing people around.

I really don’t know who to play, though. I’d go back to chun if her matchups weren’t ass. I shouldn’t take this game so seriously. A game where you can’t throw people (you know what I mean) just can’t be good no matter what tweaks they make. The engine sucks. No matter how much I try I cannot make sense of “the opponent will block now, time to do some weird flip flop stuff to counter a c.lk”. I just want to throw people.

Oh, please. The hadoken buff is 10 more damage at best. And then they utterly nerfed his HP Shoryu by not allowing it to be FADC’d. In comparison…oh wait, these nerfs are minor at best, no matter what you compare them to. Were they buffs? No. But honestly, has Adon really been so utterly horrible that you deserve major buffs? Hell, you don’t even have the reasons that Rose players complain about (namely, that she’s still one of the worst characters in the game with meaningless buffs.)

Son, let the salt outta ya system we all are gonna still rock with adon hopefully you do to, I know I am just gotta put that extra effort in y’know?

@Salty kracka Majority of the people here are prolly just mad that instead of just leaving him alone they gave him a nerf not just that they fucked with something that was fine. You might not know it but adon can get pretty difficult to win constantly with not saying its not hard for other characters not saying hes the worst but he could use some help

Haha, do you actually play Adon? Nerfing his jaguar kicks is a sure way to make sure he will never win any tournament again. Even in super when Gamerbee did so well with him, Adon wasnt exactly upper tier. It was a combination of his wake up getting him out of tough situations, use of an unknown character, great jk pressure and skill. From which 2 factors are no longer relevant, and 1 is possibly heading the same way.

Rose players have plenty to complain about sure, but that means all characters must be ass before someone can complain or suggest buffs or changes to their character?
As for Ryus HP shoryu nerf… seriously? I guess he doesnt have a lp or mp srk? a 3f move doing 160 damage seems plenty good as a combo ender to me.

Also we have yet to find out how much they are nerfing jks. Aside from the hk, which was our only semi useful jk in a match versus grapplers… losing that 10 damage is alot when you consider how many times you may or may not hit with it in a match.
That brings me onto my next point, 10damage extra per hado is a nice buff. Ryu has plenty of ways to combo into it, aside from it being safe when not spammed.

Adon may not be low tier but that doesnt mean he doesnt need buffs or changes. When characters such as Bison and Zangief get buffs to their already powerful tools do you go in and go, “HEY, wait a second, Rose is shit you guys dont deserve them buffs!”.

According to the information of a capcom-unity forum member, Yoshi Ono is no longer involved or responsible for the balance of SSF4 AE. So I guess it’s useless to spam him on his Twitter account with requests. Does anyone here know who is responsible or how to contact the dev team to give them direct feedback? I’m really serious about this. I really want to give them feedback about their changes mades so far and want them to read this Adon forum and/or the Adon forum on Capcom-Unity.
All Adon players have to stick together now and fight for him if we want to have fun in the final version of SSF4 AE. Everyone of us has to try his best to contact
the dev team and tell them about the bad decisions they’ve made with Adon and hopefully with enough support from everyone here they will reconsider and undo
their changes.
