Yeah it does whiff on smaller characters, I can’t name them off the top of my head (there shouldn’t be many) though and I don’t feel like testing it out right now.
Roughly all the spritely female characters, and I maybe El Fuerte. I know for sure Sakura, Juri, and Cammy. Maybe Vega, too.
Also remember it’s still possible to hit them with it due to fuzzy guard.

So I’ve decided that Adon cannot be improved further in AE; Zangief just needs to be nerfed.His jab SPD range is unnecessarily huge, and the 1 frame startup means that no normal that Adon can throw out within his poke range is fast enough to hit it, and if you throw out a normal move outside of poke range, he can SPD the whiff on reaction.And you normally are at that range because Gief’s s.mp beats out 90% of Adon’s moves.
I can’t think of a buff for Adon to fix this problem that wouldn’t make him retardedly overpowered. Make JKs +1 on block so they can’t be punished? Make c.mp > s.hk a block string to follow IAJK? Make his Focus Attack reach half screen?
Adon doesn’t really have “good” matchups, but when the tools he has are valid, he can maul someone in no time. In his bad matchups, you’re better of just conceding and going to game 2 with a different character.

Yeah, I just groan when I face an opponent online and they choose Gief…when I get SPDed from half a mile away I just want to throw my controller across the room it’s so unfair. I will say, at least when we had the fast wakeup you had a decent chance of getting the f*ck outta there after a knockdown…now one knockdown and it can be game over.
The only time I win this matchup is when I get a jump happy or aggressive gief and I stick to using only three moves for the ENTIRE match: Cr.Hp, S.Hk, and Hk JK…so boring and still risky if they know the matchup

Looks like they are still making major alterations, so there is still hope Adon will get one of the buffs he needs…I’m still hoping for wakeup. We’ll find out tomorrow!

Perhaps Honda in Alpha 3 is more apt, from what i remember reading he was extreme in one of the last tests that were held, and then the game shipped…

Well, They nerfed the character but they cant nerf the player it cant be all that bad
True, but I’m sick of Capcom messing around with characters who weren’t all that strong to begin with. It’s like they want to make a game with 30+ characters but only use shotos. Makes me want to quit playing sometimes.
The nerf to Jag hurtboxes could turn out to be one of the biggest nerfs I can think of. If it gives 90% of the cast a non-commital reactive response to Jags then Adon is going to become extremely frustrating to use and definitely worse overall. This could be really bad guys, I’m not going to sugar coat it.
