please tell us the damage WITHOUT using a level 3 when you post how much damage things do. I’d say it’s WAY more common to end something with a hyper charging star or hyper stars and stripes than anything else and seeing damages that are over a million isn’t that uncommon for captain america with his level 3.
I’d rather have high damage but keep some meter with a dhc or something. I mean sure, kill where you can, but sometimes you can save a bar hahaha
Oh sure dude, the damage without a level 3, and with just a hyper charging star is about 760,000 i believe. I dont remember the exact number but, with a dhc this can easily make it to 900,000. I should actually try hyper stars and stripes to see if it does more damage.
Depends on your team - on mine it dhcs into hulk for HUGE damage but for iron man I have to do hyper charging star because I can’t combo the other into iron man’s hypers

get splitters for your RCA cables and use your tv/monitor for playing and the dazzle separate for recording. your lag problems will be gone forever yayyyy
lol thats what i did and it still had some lag on the tv itself. . . . maybe because its an HD tv. . . oh well i guess ill have to try and do it with the lag
Anybody have any tips on doing the corner relaunch? specifically how to get the j. lp, j. d+h after the first set of m, h, d+h. I just cannot seem to get the spacing/timing right. cap will simply not get the lp out
wait longer if it isn’t coming out - if it’s coming out too late do it faster - if it is wiffing change your mh d+h timing…
i’ve given up on that combo except against really fat characters, the timing changes from character to character and causes to many drops, air tagging into hulk does a lot of damage for me anyway so I’ll stick to that strategy for now.
slow down how fast you do the m h d+h and you know you have the right spacing when cap’s foot during the d+h is about at the opponents chest/ head area. Then just hold down and press L then H. To practice the timing for the light just listen to caps voice when he does the d+h. It should sound like “Yahhh” so try to time the L when you hear his voice trailing off. That should help a little bit i hope
Wondering if someone can give me the notation for this combo or whether it still works since shield slash has been patched… I never played cap before but it looks as if its
H Charging Star, XFC, j :h: M shield slash, land j:m::h: M shield slash, land cr :h: H shield slash, :h: L Charging Star, L Charging Star, Hyper Charging Star.
Yes those are the correct notations, and no there is no problem with doing that combo. Even after the patch on removing Cap’s infinite combo you can still do slash after slash in xfactor until a character dies or xfactor runs out. There are of course more damaging and quicker options…that are a lot more entertaining too lol.
I personally do not like to use my xfactor and then a hyper during whatever combo comes after activation. I prefer (when it permits) to use one or the other to get my damage. Usually if I’m going to activate xfactor it’s inside of a combo, and usually somewhere near the middle or end to maximize time and damage (w/o using meter). My favorite time to activate would be after a L.charging star juggle…by that point you’ve already done at least 4-500k in damage prior to xfactor.
We all have different approaches though, I tend to use my meter sparringly so that I can almost always have the mental pressure on the opponent, keeping them from spamming projectiles and other risks.
for the life of me i cannot get the cr H after the second air SS to hit. my opponent resets before he’s in range. i guess its just a timing thing.

I’ve been using cr :l: cr cr :h: :s: sj :d:+:h: :qcf:+:l: land jump :h: :qcf:+:m: land :h: :qcb:+:l: :qcb:+:atk::atk: as my standard midscreen option just because i can do it fairly consistently. Anyway to optimize this combo without making it too insanely difficult? (or a way to make it insanely easy!)
I wouldn’t honestly worry too much about trying to get that xfactor combo down pat, especially since you’ve just started learning Cap. The character body size/weight all have A LOT to do with what you can/can’t do, so you might be trying it on someone it doesn’t even work on lol.
Now then if you’d like to optimize your combo for more damage, and meter…I say scrap that one for now, and go with the B&B combo I posted a little while ago. I made it easy enough that a new Cap won’t take long to learn it, but easily damaging enough that you’re not losing out, and builds enough meter that you’ll never spend any to do it. It’s also built so that you can modify it mid combo if you run out of room.
I have another version or two of that combo that do more damage, and/or make it even more guaranteed…but that one will get you a loooooong loooooooooooooooong way. Practice it a lot, and use the video to get the timing down. It’s pretty easy once you get used to Cap’s timing.
In the post I also wrote a few options to change it, and a fairly in depth guide to the timing.
No problem, with a little practice you’ll have the combo down in no time. It’s also doable online as well once you learn how to do it offline, and what to look for on the relaunch (opponent height).
If you use it online, and find that you’re having trouble getting it off. It’s VERY likely caused by the lag online so the first hit isn’t as immediate as when offline (you can hit A LOT closer to the ground w/o lag) so you can modify it by doing j.M, j.H xx L.shield slash in the beginning instead of just the j.H xx L.shield slash.
