Acrylic/Plexiglas for HRAP 3/EX & TE, and More - First post updated with Dust Washers

Once the new website and ordering system is up, there will be the option to select your button configuration. Whether it be all 8, first 6, or last 6 =).

Oh no… I was wanting the traditional 7 button vewlix layout.
Art, could you please make that an option as well?:wonder:

And while your at it give us options on cutting:
*the 6 holes for the screws
*the turbo box

I won’t need the cuts for those

no problem mate , totally understand

I am so ready to order.

I agree…

I’d like a bit better cover than lami-label… lol

Shipped Wed, so you should get it Today or tomorrow. Let me know =D. And I’m learning from the mistake I made of not anticipating the volume I’d be getting. I should’ve had a site more readily setup to accommodate something like this, so I’m stopping everything until it’s done right.

Hey Jayducky. You just reminded me of your PM. Sorry I haven’t responded to that yet. My inbox got full and had to archive a lot of messages. I may add a Viewlix 7 button option, where it’s really just removing the last lower button, since i’ve had 2 requests for that now.

But in your specific case, you also wanted some slight extensions to the dimensions. I’m not sure if I can accommodate that in a timely fashion. Will take a bit of extra time because I don’t have a template for what you specified and will have to improvise. More thought will have to be involved in that if you’d like to wait.

And as for removing the guide box, that may have to be a special request, not within my options. I’ll have a place for “special instructions” when an order is placed, so that’s where you can add such requests. I don’t want to have it as an open option because unless people are doing what you’re doing, and removing that guide box altogether, the missing guide box cut won’t allow the plexi to sink in. Even if I post that warning somewhere, ppl may still miss that point. So I prefer something like that to be a special request where I can personally address. =)

Thanks Art,

I think I will order one from you with out the slight extentions to the dimensions to see if it will still work. If it doesn’t work I’ll commission another one from you with altered dimensions. Here is the vewlix art
I am using. Maybe you can put in a 24mm start button in the upper right?

where is the pre-order going live, on the site on the 4th

That was the initial plan, but I seem to have come to a snag with Paypal’s online implementation. Getting the kinks worked out. Should have it up by Monday. Sorry about the delay =(.

what paper are you guys using? i havent printed anything at kinkos since 1997

@ arthong : thanks for all the new informations.
i’m waiting to place muy order.

@ Milkham : I have made some experimentations : I’m using a non glossy paper between 180 to 230 grams. And the result is amazing (sounds like a lithography with a 230 grams paper…).
But you need to experiment by yourself…

When I do my prints at Kinkos, I use their online print system. Upload the image, I select Tabloid size, and then I select cardstock.

I found cardstock to work better, the normal paper/laser printer, is easy to wrinkle by the slightest accident. Even though the plexiglass presses against it, if there’s a big wrinkle it will still show. Cardstock makes it much easier to handle. That’s my experience =)

What type of file are you using? I don’t see the options to select Tabloid. Perhaps it’s because my file is exactly legal paper size?

do you make 6 button TE temps would order some if you do

Ah yeah. I used the template from one of the HRAP template threads floating in the Tech forums… can’t recall off the top of my head which one it was. But I took out the guidelines, especially the guide box area because I think it was an older HRAP template. Either case, that template is set t Tabloid size. once saved to PDF and sent to Kinkos, it showed up with the option for Tabloid.

That I can. More info when the site is up =)

pm me when u made the SE one

I’m going to follow your exact instructions. I loaded up a Tabloid sized PDF and selected cardstock. What do you select for Paper type? 90 index, or copy color? I doubt it’s glossy, but… let me know.

I know I told you that I most likely wouldn’t put artwork on my HRAP EX, but after receiving your plexi, I’m strongly considering it. I just tried to give you feedback with the new system, but I guess since Imitrex opened the thread, it wouldn’t let me since adding the url for the thread is a requirement.

Glad you’re liking it =D

What I did was select tabloid, 90lb cardstock, and pretty much left the rest on default and it should print full color. You should get a preview on the site b4 you pay. I don’t use glossy because once the plexi is on, it makes it look glossy anyway.

Hmm, dunno how the overall feedback system here works, but as long as you’re satisfied it’s all good =).

Let me know if you have anymore printout concerns.

man, cutting the art was a pain and i gave the panel a nice nick while doing it, :frowning: i guess i need a new blade for my xacto knife.

oh yeah, i’m using the original hori buttons for start and select, this is the thinnest panel from arthong and they fit snugly but the little thingies on the side don’t pop out to lock em like sanwa buttons. they’re not going anywhere though

If I didn’t go full bleed with the art and leave out the button and turbo panel cutouts from the template i would have regretted it, i printed my misa splatter template out as well for laughs and didn’t go full bleed on it and it came out a little smaller than it should have so i didnt even try to cut it to fit

I just realized this, don’t rest the metal panel on top of the plastic casing and the turbo/home button panel while removing your buttons, or it’ll scuff the buttons like on mine.

Very nice color scheme. The button colors match perfectly!

That’s HAWT :wow:

I just noticed that my plexi panel bulges up a little around the turbo panel, i tried loosening the nuts but no difference, is it like that for everyone else?
