Going to West and Finals. Voted AC. Since having it, there is no way I could go back to Slash and enjoy myself. I would guess the Japanese feel pretty much the same way, although they would enter for the money of course.
Having everyone attend and be more interested in a ‘side’ tourney would be weird.

Voted AC. Although I feel for the situation for Arcana Heart @ SBO, I just feel Slash would be too boring knowing it’s not the newest thing.

GG has always been into using the new game. I’m not interested in playing in a slash tourney, I’ve given up on GG until AC comes out. But if AC is the tourney at Vegas I will definetly join up!
Oh and I am planning on Vegas.
I voted for AC for several reasons.
1, because I feel it’s a better and more fun than Slash.
2, because if it’s not AC, I’m not going to waste my time competing in EVO Finals when I could be spending time playing people in a game I enjoy more.
3, because it will make for a much more interesting event.
I think it’s a little foolish to hold this poll before people have had a chance to play AC and see how they like it. I would bet a box of cookies that the numbers will be WAY more in AC’s favor after people have it in their hands.
Still, I’m trying to do my part.

my post was delet but bottom line is, if you voted slash you’re a scrub. It’s a shitty game and theres a new better version out why not play that. EVeryone was quick to make the jump to slash as was I because it was the newest game. Sure it’s a heapen pile of trash but it was a good move, but now it’s time to look back on sammy or whoever made that game and think. “Wow that sucked let’s play AC”

I voted AC, I’m going to EVO East/World. Slash is boring fucking dogshit, and I’ll just play Sol for the tournament because Slash is the most scrub friendly Guilty Gear to date.
AC will be a far more interesting tournament, even if Slash has it’s merits. It’s just a boring game and by the time EVO world comes around I don’t think many people are going to give a shit about Slash unless AC absolutely bombs(which I truly, truly doubt it will).
People bitch about EVERY new rendition of Guilty Gear. Let’s just play the newest game and have an interesting tournament instead of Slash which people left in the dust 3 months earlier. Just my .02…

Look at evo 2k5 and 2k6 results you will see marn’s name ,and dxp does not play gg he just voted for slash because he dislikes guilty gear, and japan wouldnt have that much motivation to go if it was slash either except maybe the japanese that are coming for other games looking for some money, and even if america won a slash tourney it would be pointless because the japanese dont play it anymore they moved on.
I’m going to Evo Finals. AC is the best version of Guilty Gear to date, and Slash is a fucking mess.

What, exactly, is beating the Japanese in a version of a game that they have not played for a full year going to prove? Let alone do you think any noteworthy Japanese players are going to go out of their way to play Slash? Probably not. It’s not about bitching and whining til’ we get what we want, it’s about expressing that playing an outdated game is pointless and that we should be playing the current version. Most of the people who can feasibly beat the Japanese are the people asking for AC. Not all, just a majority.
And I dunno about anyone else but BEATING THE JAPANESE NO MATTER WHAT OMGGGg is not on the top of my agenda. I mean hell, if that’s all that you really care about then we should be switching back to Guilty Gear: The Missing Link because we’d have the optimum chance of winning. We probably aren’t going to beat the Japanese, WHO GIVES A SHIT! To me, that is not a good enough reason to justify still playing Slash.

I’m not playing either way in protest of it being 3v3, but I would really lose some faith in evo if it got changed last minute. If it is going to change, it should be announced a long time in advance.

I agree with ruin. If you aren’t there to win then don’t vote. If you’re at evo just to have fun, you can still have slash set ups and shit with your psp or whatever. I’m sure there are some people that still want to play slash, so why not just play casuals and have fun. Let people who want to actually win evo decide what they want.
