Accent Core at EVO! YOU can make it happen!

I’m going to Evo West and Finals, I voted Accent Core because after having had the chance to play it a few times, I realize that it’s a much better game and I think it would be the best choice for the community to keep up with the most recent version. There is no reason to play Slash after the console release.

i voted ACore because it would be silly to play an older version when the new one is readily available

I voted for AC because its new and thats the only gg im going to be playing when its out, im going to evo west and finals and if its slash my motivation to go is 0.

What I do not get is okay, people who qualed with Slash, how about if they have no way of playing AC. Now it’s not like XX->#R, where it’s just balancae issues, they changed the whole game. 3 months is NOT enough time to learn a game and to be good. and I will have no way of playing Accent core. I can only play Slash is because I have it for PSP and play it on there.

And not everyone is lucky enough to play AC. And just because it’s the newest game should not mean it should be played. Teams have qualified with Slash and practiced on it, now they only have 3 months to relearn their characters in a new game that probably have changed drastically.

You say 2 months is enough? Try learning CvS2 in 2 months, try learning every set-up for PTF in 2 months. That shit took me a YEAR. If you guys actually get AC for Evo, I’m going to laugh my ass off if no american places top 4.

I voted AC.

Reason: Family was threatened.

Sounds like someone has a personal problem. I hear Justin Wong learned CvS2 in about 2 weeks. What the hell is PTF? You go ahead and keep laughing your ass off in the back, cause that’s where you’ll always be.

ac because its what im going to be playing eventually

:wonder:

I don’t think your argument is strong solely for this. Slash is on Japanese ps2, and Accent Core will be on the same thing also. This is for people who normally have access to the console versions, not psp. If you cannot practice on those systems, or have a readily-available place to play against people in either version, I doubt you’ll be able to compete.

The only way I see this would concern you is that you and a whole bunch of your friends play on Slash psp, and normally go to tournaments with a ps2 pad, which is feasible, I guess.

ac

unless you want japan to laugh at us (which happens anyway, but you know…)

i actually don’t like ac so far. i personally see it as the worst installment since xx. but opinions aside, we should be playing the latest game.

I say Slash because it’s unfair for the people who already qualified in Slash to suddenly change to AC. Plus, within the small amount of time the game is released on PS2 to actually playing it at EVO, there could be some messed up console-only glitches. I sure hope there aren’t, because I’m looking forward to picking up AC just for the sake of keeping up with the community, but if there are, people would complain about this bug this, or that bug that. It could happen (Chipp throw bug? -cough-). Slash to keep it simple for the EVO staff all the way!!

Hell, just be glad they are still even supporting Guilty Gear what with all the switchin’.

Yeah…peepz already qualified for Slash but whateva. Guilty Gear is the most confusing game to run in America any ways. Might as well release another Guilty Gear game right now. I vote # Reload.

Slash. Because chicago owns that game for free and will own japan too.

I voted Slash.

Because I want Marn to cry.

But besides that, because the average gamer does not have access to AC. Why hold a tournament for a game that only 3 arcades in the USA have? In that case just cap it at 32 entrants and only let the locals of the arcades who have it enter.

and then let everybody else play slash and win the real money.

I voted Accent Core.

My team qualified at Evo South, and all three of us would still rather play Accent Core at Evo Finals than Slash. We are going to Evo Finals for sure and possibly still to Evo North (if it’s switched to Accent Core for North).

Not only do I believe that Accent Core is genuinely a better game, but I completely lack motivation to take Slash seriously at Evo Finals (even with a huge prize purse) because there are already two arcades in Texas with Accent Core so we’ve all been playing that. In fact, we stopped playing Slash even casually after last year’s Evo since we just wanted to wait for Accent Core.

Let’s face it: Guilty Gear is a game franchise based on revisions. They’ve been pushing out one a year, so if we don’t have Accent Core at Evo this year, the game is either going to be near the end of it’s life or already done by the time next year’s Evo rolls around. We already had a Slash tournament last year, and I think that given the opportunity to play on the new version, we should.

Two months is PLENTY of time to learn a new revision (it’s not like learning a whole new game, like some people seem to think) and it’s a Japanese PS2 game just like Guilty Gear Slash, so the same people will all have access to Accent Core.

The average gamer does not have access to Guilty Gear Slash, either. It’s an import-only title for Japanese PS2, just like Accent Core is going to be. The exact same people will all be able to play Accent Core, so that’s not a valid issue.

And the other team that qualified at EVO South was my team, and my team would rather play Accent Core also. So EVO South comprete! And the teams that won FR to qual, I’m sure since it is Chicago and they have a board, that they would rather play that too. So get your head out of your shits about shit not being fair to people who already qualified =).

I voted for AC because I feel it is the latest and greatest version of Guilty gear out, and is the version I would rather play

i’d rather see ac

i’ll be at ecc, evo west, vegas

this whole thread is deja vu of the past 2 evo’s. damn ggxx. damn arc systems for still making fighters, making it hard for us =)

im still for AC =)

Uh AC isn’t that different. I made the necessary adjustments to compete with my character within ONE NIGHT, just on knowledge from vids and some messing around during matches.
Austin players have been playing it for about 1.5 weeks now and we’ve already adjusted for the most part. Sure we don’t have everything perfect, but it doesn’t take that long to pick up a few FRCs and such with training mode- ie. a console release. Hell, we’re picking things up pretty quickly just playing each other as it is.

Given that Evo North, West, AND Finals still have yet to occur, who has qualified with Slash? Oh right, Evo South qualifiers, and ALL of them would rather play AC. AC is the game we are playing RIGHT NOW, as well, and uh… like poonage said, none of the qualifiers had been practicing Slash since Evo2k6 anyhow.
I can’t go to World so I’m not voting, but to further drive the nail in, my team placed third at Evo South (one missed combo from qualifying =( ) and I would rather see AC at World.

I learned how to paint the fence and shoshosho within a month of getting my MAS stick. I was doing PTF off scissors, off j.strong, off Devil’s Reverse, random activate, etc. within 2 months of getting my stick. What’s your point? If YOU happened to learn one CvS2 combo slowly, how is that a reflection on the general ability of the GUILTY GEAR scene as a whole to pick up a revision to the same core game they’ve been playing for years already?

Besides, more places have Accent Core than the “3 arcades” that people keep bringing up. So it’s not like the game isn’t already out there in a few places, just some people are quiet about it.

i vote AC because its about time we stop lagging behind the community in tourney titles
il be at world
alot more people have access to the game right now then most want u to belive…
