I know of atleast 20 good players who arent going to vegas becuase of slash that sucks
I probably wont even be able to go to EVO world at all, it will just be too expensive unless I can get a really discounted roundtrip ticket to vegas from Japan and actually get enough time off of my teaching job in Japan so soon after starting.
I will go to EVO north just cuz its in Chicago and I will just team up with people who cant make evo world so that they arnt stuck with a 2 man team when I cant show up to world.
I still plan to do SBO quals though
By the way, excuse my ignorance but where exactly in Japan is SBO going to be held? I will be living about 80 miles north of Tokyo so I am just trying to plan ahead here.

It’s no surprise that some people won’t be going to Vegas if it’s Slash this year, but, to be honest, I won’t be surprised if it is Slash this year. I’m fine with whatever decision Evo staff makes at this point, but I think it needs to be made soon so people can make a decision on whether they want to go or not. I’ll be going regardless… because I want the moneyz. >_>

SBO will be held at Differ Ariake, a venue in the Odaiba area (southeast Tokyo).
The closest train station is called “Ariake”. If you use a site like Ekitan.com, you can find out exactly what trains to take from where you’ll be living along with the cost.
Guilty Gear will be held on 8/13 (Monday, but it’s a Japanese National Holiday so you won’t have work).

ahh as I said before maybe its just me but 90% I would hope/assume is a exaggeration. Cuz I think you could make case for a lot of other games, that no one game would get 90% of a vote for having at evo.

Well you could easily argue there supporting there “scene” by not putting up with BS of playing old games. There supporting the scene by sticking up for the new game. So that argument could work both ways. And I personaly agree with it shruuuug.
people should go to evo regardless of what game is there, my reasons for not being able to go have nothing to do with slash or AC since I like both games anyway
Well, I want to go anyways, but I really have to question if it’s even worth it to go if it’s Slash. Not to come off as a baby but I just have personal reasons why I would lose some interest if it was Slash…
Reasons being that Slash is my least favorite Guilty Gear(not that I don’t enjoy it, I do, but it’s still been the least interesting to me), I would have to spend quite a bit of money just to play a game I don’t even like that much, and I’d have to basically put AC in the trash for 3-4 months if I wanted to do well at EVO…which would suck because I’m actually very excited about the AC console release.

As for me, if it is accent core, I’ll still go to evo but i’m like 99.9998% sure that I wont participate in accent core. Man, I tried and tried and tried and tried GOD have i tried to play that game but i just can’t do it. Can’t do it. Sooo… For now, I’m a melty blood player! Go Melty Blood!!!

dropping $500 on plane ticket, food, hotel room for a dead, shitty version of the game you used to play isn’t exactly something most people would do unless they’re retarded.
now, if you’re a top player and think you can convince 2 of your friends who also hate the shitty old version, and want to drop that much money into going to a tournament you won’t even have fun at, maybe you have some good life priorities lol. i’d rather spend that money traveling to japan than going to evo.
and the random scrubs, who fill up the brackets? why SHOULD they go? they have to spend that $500 and pray that none of those top players show up. and they get the honor of playing “juicy g’s prime choice”

Regardless if it’s slash or ac I’ll be playing cause evo is in my backyard and I play other games. But it’s bull shit for a hard core top player to come out for a old game :P.
