and this is with a whole bunch of people who dont even play slash voting for slash and the srk staff aswell
also im pretty sure now that the game is officially coming out in 2 weeks alot of those people who voted slash will change their minds if the poll is taken agian
I’m thinking this isn’t going to happen. They don’t want their posts jumped on by everyone who doesn’t agree. Especially after the whole “kid in Kentucky” argument.
Was it Kentucky? I forget.
As for the 5000 dollar argument, I don’t think any American has ever been competing for the top prize in Guilty Gear at an Evo tourney.
But hey, if there is no foreign interest then that may change this year!
Also, there is a ZERO percent chance of a new Guilty Gear game coming out by next year’s Evolution (making the assumtion it happens), especially on console.
Team Cue and Team 17 Seconds were in the top 8 last year, and the year before that there were American representitives in the top eight, and the year before that as well.
Just because an American hasn’t gotten second doesn’t mean they’re to be neglected?
Or did I card-game yomi that shit out of your skull?
No, I don’t know what you meant, I can’t read your mind through this monitor.
You don’t think any American’s ever had a realistic chance at first or second? You think they automatically set their sights lower?
Ok there Scamp, do you log off of reality when you log onto SRK?
I’m just fine talking about this, just imagine me typing this on a laptop in the midst of a field of flowers with puppies and kittens running about, playing joyfully with another. See if that helps.
No, I don’t. But that doesn’t mean I’ve come to the same conclusion as the second question. The good Japanese players have been beaten before in tourney or MM (For example ID, Alex G, Purrin, Cue, Heidern all beat at least one) but no one has seriously challenged first place in my opinion. If there’s anyone that disagrees with this opinion, please have them post up here and provide some reasoning to it.
Master Chibi, you ignore some of my points and then respond to the rest like an ass. If you want to have a discussion, then fine. If you want to just mockingly question everything I say without actually adding anything significant, that’s fine too. But you won’t get any more answers from me.
Hell if I care buddy, I addressed the one point I was interested in, the other point was true on your part, I wasn’t paying attention, so I backed out of it.
The way you worded your first point just didn’t sit well with me (thus I didn’t understand correctly), and while I agree that thus far we can do damage to the Japanese in GG (as has been proven in the past), it’s highly unlikely that we’ll get first this time around, especially given the time frame we’ll have had the game for.
That’s originally my arguement as for holding Slash, but at this point I think it’s a lost cause because in 10+ days every GG player is going to make the switch and not really care about it anyway.
Chibi a lot of the good players have access to AC already so uh they’ll have their practice time before Evo rolls around.
I think the US players CAN take first, the Japanese are hella good for sure but they’re looking more and more human each year (or rather the overall level of play from the US has gone up)… not saying that a US team for sure WILL take first this year, but it’s not impossible by any stretch of imagination. Matchup experience (or lack thereof) hurts right now, though… but another year of Slash isn’t going to prep the US for runaway Bridget any more than anybody already is.
Hopefully there will be a final decision made within a week or two of Accent Core’s release, cuz it’ll decide whether or not some players even compete at all. Some people still need a team (myself included), and for those that aren’t competing w/out AC, then there’s no point in finding one if it’s Slash.
You guys asking for AC this year when the older ver. have already been used at the earlier evos in the past months are just wasting your breath.
Maybe next year, but to suddenly change GG ver. when Slash is already being used in the current evo line up? Be realistic.
