is bison vs o.sagat drastically more favorable than ryu vs o.sagat?
or is daigo’s bison just that much better than his ryu?

I wasn’t going to post about this and leave people to what they think but I guess both sides need to be heard.
First of all, thanks to Chef for not mentioning my name on the original post. I really appreciate that despite him being down. A big finger up to SrWilson for naming me, not because I need to hide but it’s not cool.
Back to the topic at hand. Everything that has been said is true. It all comes down to misunderstandings. I explained the situation to the Chef, the Japanese were taking things quite seriously and wanted the best team VS. both UK and Europe. They mentioned the Nebraskan teams and felt it made them look bad. As a result I considered a joint team to play against the Japanese.
I originally stood by what I had decided and told the HK players that it was UK and Europe, nobody else. Until the Japanese decided to form their strongest. I guess I was at fault to even consider it but the point remains that I asked for Chef’s permission first. My exact words were
“I know you have earned your spot so I need your permission. You don’t have to say ‘yes’ but the decision is yours.”
The question I then asked was
“I’m thinking of swapping you over with a HK player. Do you mind?”, to which Chef replied “No”. To anyone reading this, that kind of response would translate to Chef not minding to be swapped out. I had to finalise the team since we were behind schedule so I informed the HK players, Kuni and Ullysis about it to which they had no objections to.
Chef then confronted me about it to which I interpreted as changing his mind and I felt he was messing me about. The conditions were hot, the schedule was off and the misunderstandings then ticked me off, which is why I immediately denied him after he asked twice. If I ever said Chef was rubbish, I apologise. If I said that, it was at the spur of moment and I have to say, I was really peed off at that stage.
I cooled down after 5 mins and thought that Chef should deserve to play. I asked C IV that if I dropped out of one team, would he mind dropping out too so that two others could play, one being Chef. We agreed and then I offered Chef the chance to play. By this time he was probably too upset to play. I tried to persuade him and I genuinely wanted him to play. I openly volunteered to forfeit my spot and give it to The Chef.
At the end of the day, it all came down to a misunderstanding. It was difficult for me because players from both sides wanted me to play with them, even after I forfeit my spot on one team. BillyKane and Fabien wanted me to play with them and the HK players similarly. At the end I had to pulled out the HK players and stuck to the same teams. Chef had gone by then and instead of replacing him with a HK players I offered his spot to the next ranked UK player.
Chef: I regret any of this has happened and you were unable to play. I really did want you to play after I had chilled and it’d be sad if you quit gaming altogether. True that you have University studies and the future to think about but you can control your level of gaming too.
I’m going to add a qualifiers for people who can’t make all RBs so that they have chance at the team just before major tournaments in the future. Top 5 playeres at RB will advance to a final qualifier along with a stand-alone tournament to add another 5 players for selection. I’ll work doubly hard next season and if Chef doesn’t qualify for a place and I do, I will give him my spot. That’s a promise.
Hi, everyone. We just got back home from UK.
Yeah, headline news about this tourney would be nice.
In the ST ground final, Daigo had some difficulty executing DP and missed DP few times from P-1 side.
Daigo asked me the possibility of switching sides in order to go on his Ryu, but I denied.
So, Ino forced Daigo to pick non DP charas and that was Balrog.
Tips: when you face Daigo, try letting him pick P-1 side
The reason why Daigo picked O.Sagat to my gief was because I said “I won’t have serious problem beating (decent) O.Sagat” and he just wanted to see if that’s true.
Oh, I shouldn’t have said that. Daigo’s O.Sagat is far different from scrubs’ O.Sagat. His was just like a machine cannon which keeps firing even without one frame delay. All I could do was getting 1 round from him.
(not only gief, but all of the charas will have hard time beating his O.Sagat though)
ahh pants i missed this one hope everybody had a good time there, i’d have really liked to have met the japanese players and got a damn good thrashing by them haha maybe next time, one question how was the conditions there, because i know troc gets too hot and crappy ventaltion and that gives me a migrane any chance of it being held in something other than a cattleshed next time?
1 round of Gief vs O.Sagat? That’s great from what I see. Anytime I hear about your Gief beating any decent O.Sagat is still mindboggling. When I look at it on paper, I don’t see how Gief can win! So, from me, that gets a lot of respect. I just don’t believe that Gief should have a real chance in that match.
Kuni, if you have the time, I would like to hear how your experience in Europe was. Also, I would enjoy any comments regarding great matches. ALSO(haha I know. Too much!), I would like to hear your thoughts on Daigo’s loss in CvS2.
Oh! One more thing! What can you tell us about your plans for this years Evolution tournament?
It’s great to hear from you bro:)
Apoc.
Wassup Ski
Damn, how long u been in the UK? U already starting to sound like us bro, lol!
Shout outs 2 Ski, theHY, Billykane, Chef and all the other muthafuckers that worked their asses off to help out with little or no thanks.
P.S. Daigo is a beast in ST. Kuni’s Gief = Too Good!
Daigo loses in CvS2 in Europe looks like a dope headline.
To Kuni:
We’ve already heard of what Japanese players think of USA and European players. How about ppl from HK? What do the Japanese think of them? (Strengths/Weaknesses) How can they improve?
Thx
Got a question: who was the american guy who lost cvs2 against RF i think (the guy who played some mvc2 on free play) he was pretty good, next time you come, hope to play you
Hello Kuni, in fact, we didnt have a real point of view from japanese player about european strenght/weakness (i just talked to bas about me, but thas all. lol). If u have time and it doesnt bother u, can u tell us? it would be great (and we could progress :). I speak for european players, because they dont have real opportunities to speak with japanese players.
thxxxx, and good job for all your games (zero3, ST, etc…)
Apoc: Yo, bro wassup? Our journey to UK for this tourney was really owesome, and the ppl there were so nice as US players are.
I really had bad experience from some Europeans and I don’t believe them at first. However, that’s just few ppl who behave that bad and I learned overall Euro players community was so nice.
I was also impressed by Fabien(cuzco) vs. Daigo match in 3S.
That match up was his wish for long time and Daigo recognized his hard practice and growth.
About Daigo’s defeat in cvs2: that match between Daigo and Evil didn’t come to close hand to hand combat. Daigo couldn’t aim and focus just one behavior. In short, Daigo had big mistake and lost. Nothing is Evil’s fault.
I don’t wanna be a big boast, but I’m still positive that it’s not an easy match for O.Sagat to beat gief.
Actually in my 3rd place match against some O.Sagat player, I almost double perfected it. I have almost even w-l score against Valle’s O.Sagat, too.
I’ll try my best to attend this year’s evl, but I already took so many of my work days off and can’t take any more. So, I’ll be arriving 1st tourney day and leave right after the tourney. That’s all I can do.
Kechu: Everyone found HK players trained very well and was impressed by some of their techniques. I’m not a 3S expert, but they said their parry trap was effective and if it had been a first encounter in the tourney, they could have been suffered a lot.
To Kuni:
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay in UK, it was great to meet you and the other japanese players and I hope someday you will all come to London again
Yeah Kuni, you guys rocked! hope y’all enjoyed london and I hope to see you and the other japanese players again sometime too.
kuni: hiya, it was nice watching and meeting most of the visitors from japan.
could you please pass a message onto Ino:
he completey ROOOCKKKKSS!!! ino is the best!
w00t! Sup Kuni, never expected to find you on SRK.
Yeah, you gave us great company at the tourny. You also made the london funland technicians look really stupid, being able to fix a broken button in just under 2 minutes  (these technicians are real lazy fucks).
What really surprised me tho (and I’ve seen it in your post) is how good your English is too!
Daigo was clearly too good taking home 4 joysticks    , but I think Chikyuu in my opinion is one VERY impressive and original player. If he doesn’t remember who I am, I gave him a Twelve VS Twelve match, where he used XCOPY on me
Absolution 2004 3S Finals - Izu vs Daigo
http://www.karathrow.com/videos/Makoto[Izu]vsKen[Daigo].zip
 twelve v twelve and chikyo used x copy the guys a genius, i’ve got nothing but the upmost respect for the guy
hey all. thanks to all the people that organised it, i had a great time. i thought i would pick up loads of nice tricks, but it was so mind blowing i ended up not remembering much. maybe it was cos of the heat though. i dunno.
i felt the level of play was excellent, and we did pretty well overall. alpha 3 uk vs jap was bad assed to watch. chikyuu is THE man, using the necro and twelve like a machine. it, was, THAT beautiful to watch
special congratus to Riri, who did fantastically well, and who IMO had the best yang in the tournament. big up the hong kong crew too.
my only regret is that i didnt take a camera on sunday. so now i wont have any proof to show people ive met the legends. hopefully though, kuni and the rest of the crew will be back sooner rather than later and i will have my camera ready.
I’m not the best or the worst CVS2 player but here is my 2 cents…
Personally i think Daigo lost fair and square. Will Daigo win again next time he meets Evil?? yes.
I’m pretty sure some people have had experience with a playing style like Evil, you end up overestimating their skill and then you die. You have to dumb down your tacitcs against some players, i.e. you don’t tick throw vs button mashers. Daigo didn’t do that, it seems like he overestimated him.
Does Evil suck? no.
Can most players beat Evil. Yes. No disrespect in anyway.
Ever play 'hold em? Ever play that one really random player who plays really random? He doesn’t exactly play every hand but he just bets high on hands he thinks are good, and he allways bets high. He either wins big big big or loses hard. Though you are very good and you know that he sucks, maybe you didn’t read him correctly and challenged his raises, and you still lost. It happens, just watch hold em on TV, wierd shit like that happens, sometimes the amateurs who play “Evil” style beat the pros who take the calculated risks.
my 2 cents.
gold, straight up gold.
daigo wasn’t used to playing his style, and lost
again, daigo wasn’t used to playing dr.b s-groove and almost lost.
give that dude some props- he deserves it.
