Absolute Question and Answer Thread v.3 (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

The RAP4 sticks are more of the easy ones to get into. 6 Phillips head screws on the bottom, then a small screwdriver to push the tabs in on the button to pull it out if it’s gotta be done. Also might want to check your connections from the PCB to the button as well, make sure those are secure.

Best advice have a container of some sort for your screws.
If you need to don’t be afraid to take notes or snap photos for later reference.
And take it slow.

This. A million times this. I don’t know how many times my wife has gotten upset because I’ve taken a plastic bowl of hers for screws or buttons :joy:

I found that really helpful, its from Autopart stores.
Its an Magnetic bowl

Here one on Amazon to illustrate

So useful when dealing with screws.

I have been using the top for my ifixit protech toolkit as a screw container and it works nicely for that.

Hey there! I’ve got a MadCatz TE2+ except most everything in it is replaced with a Brook Board and Jasen’s Custom’s EZ-Mod kit, and now it’s a hitbox. But recently it’s started flaking out, like not connecting to my PS4, or if it does connect, failing after a while.

One thing that’s original, though, is the Pro Cable. Is that a likely culprit, would you imagine? Should I try replacing the cable?

Thanks a bunch!

Have you updated the firmware?

I have, yeah. To the latest UFB firmware; it hasn’t seemed to help.

Then it’s probably a USB cable problem.

Hi,

I’ve installed a Brook UFB into my Qanba Obsidian (via the EZ Mod), and it’s working perfectly. However, I’m hoping to change the stock USB cable (with the 5-pin connector) to a braided USB A-to-B cable that connects directly to the UFB. When I do this, though, the stick ceases to function as a stick at all (the lever and buttons do nothing), and is seemingly only recognised by my PC as a generic USB device. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks!

Thanks for the input! Ordered one from Jasen. It’d be really pleasant if that’s what’s wrong!

With Art’s Hobbies is no longer in business, what are the options for value cases?

Probably a SnackBox or a BNB case

Hello, is there a feature comparison of the Paradise Cthulhu, The Jasen x Brook retro Board, and the (I don"t know the American partner) The PS 360+

  1. Do all of them have compatibility with the same NON-usb systems? Or does one have more?

  2. does the SNES have both original formation (yba) and SF lovers default (bar)

  3. Does it use “Duke style SF configuration” on the Xbox Prime?

4 Do they have wireable LS RS L3 and R3 mode? Or is there a “soft l3/r3/ls/rs?”

All 3 boards have documentation out
Look it up.

Is there a specific thread which does a “dare to compare” for the multi console Fight PCBs for systems from the NES to 6th Gen systems? (I was hoping for a specific thread topic in one easy-to-find place.)

Or are you saying piece it out one question at a time? (I’ll do it the old fashioned way until I see a good one stop shop)

Just so there a list of systems each of those PCBs support on one post.

Here the PS360+ manual

And the PDF for the Brooks Retro board

All 3 are common ground and can be dual modded to other PCBs.

Beware the rj-45 mod is a pain in the ass to do.

You have to be more specific than that, especially for someone who new to modding like tripletopper.
I am assuming you are speaking of the MC Cthulhu. As the other boards have RJ45 jacks on them.
