What about dirt inside?
Can I use the same?
lolwhut?
A lint free cloth and/or a compressed air canister. Liquid [thatās not isopropanol] and electricity donāt go together. All you should have inside there is dust.
I need advice on how to mount a Brook audio board inside a Hori EX2, if anyone has done this?
I think the best way is to mount it between the 3P/3K and the edge of the case, I just donāt have much space to work with and need a decent mounting solution. I was going to drill and countersink mounting screws on the inside of the stick then hot glue the screw terminal edge of the board to the side of the stick (and wire buttons and stick though the 20 pin header).
And before anyone answers āuse a different stickā I have plenty of nice sticks LOL, Iām doing this to prove to myself I can do it as a modding challenge and use it as a portable Astro City-like stick.
Donāt the Hori EX2 has an existing headphone jack?
Yeah, once I dig up the pinout Iāll either be patching into that or using the breakout board and plugging it with sculpty. Micro USB is gross I know but a travel stick cable that I can use to charge a cellphone fits the theme of the build so well I donāt think I can pass up on it.
My main concern is how to fix the board to the case - Iāll be dangling an expensive PCB over a metal plate, and I wanna feel comfortable with it.
Use self adhesive PCB Feet.
Couple of concerns: Iām worried the feet wonāt hold if the stick is moved around, and I donāt have much space on the plastic at all. The edge is angled, so Iām not sure the feet will hold on that side.
Most self adhesive PCB feel, the tape on them holds pretty well. Other options include zipties and ziptie anchors, and industrial self adhesive Velcro.
ItĀ“s a bad idea to do the Short Throw mod to a Seimitsu LS-56 to reduce the throw to SHMUP?
Yes, as the LS-56 Already have a really short throw as it is.
Think I might try Velcro since its flatter and has a bigger surface area. Thanks.
Velcro by its nature of adhesion can create static electricity. You sure you want that shit near a circuit board?
I sure wouldnāt.
Cut the foot tabs smaller to fit your surface. Donāt start futzing with Velcro. Besides, adhesive on Velcro strips is typically less resilient than that applied to PCB feet.
I use that stuff to affix my CF card reader to the base of my HiRise stand for my iMac, and to affix my raspberry pi case to my Picade. Feet are still better for the application.
IDK if youāve modded the EX2 case, but itās deceptively small - thereās a molded plate support below the main buttons, and while I could just take out the sub-pcbs and drill holes in the side of the stick, I want to keep that look. Velcro would give me a bigger surface area and more evenly distributed support for the PCB.
Itās a really frustrating stick - if it was just a bit taller and wider, itād be a modding classic.
Better than hot glue I guess. Give it a shot.
So I put together a Player 2 stick with a TE1, madcatz replacement panel, and the UFB. After putting it in my case I realized I accidentally put the PS button wire into the VCC. I tucked it away under the side and canāt reach the VCC would it be safe to just cut the wire and leave it in the VCC screw terminal and put the PS wire into the correct screw terminal? As long as the wire isnāt going anywhere and isnāt going to touch anything I would assume itās safe.
Hi guys, hope this is the right place to ask this, my bad if not.
Does anybody know the thickness of the TE Round 1 metal button panel? I canāt get at my TE to check right now and google wasnāt much helpā¦ the closest I could find to an answer was 1/8" can anyone confirm/correct me on this?
Thanks!
EDIT: Also dose anyone know what material it is? I guess aluminum be not sureā¦
I dont know the thickness, but the panel is some kind of steel
I recently picked up a BlazBlue Continuum Shift TE for a good price on eBay. Then I noticed the color discrepancy between the cable door and the rest of the stickās plastic shell.
My question: Is this white discrepancy normal with these all-white TEās??
I assumed at first that it was probably just plastic yellowing over time. But I just placed it next to an OG TE that spent its life within a box. The white in the controls AND side panels is exactly the same shade.
