Got given a guilty gear xrd sign TE madcatz fightstick but the person lost the cable is there anyway to get a new one as madcatz support told me to GTFO or does anyone have the schematics for the cable so I can make my own (engineering student)
I am trying to figure out dimensions of the case that i am designing. I do not want an excessively huge case. Actually i am trying to keep it’s dimensions minimum without compromising ergonomics and keeping the layout as it is. Can you help me to determine the dimensions? Also, is there any other things i should consider on this subject?
Obviously Y(-) has a funcion, you rest your palms (and wrists?) on it. Is there any function of Y(+) like that? If not, i will try to keep it at minimum.
Edit: IDK if it matters but, consider that I will use it on my lap too.
Do a 8 in X 12 in x 3 in or a 9 in x 14 in X 3 in case (Make a cardboard box mock up to decide if these dimensions appeal to you). After you make the case and have it in front of you can decide where you want the holes to be by moving your printed template around on the top of the case.
I want to try a crown stick next time I order parts. Since it uses microswitches, which ones arent compatible with it?
Oh yeah, which stick bodies does it fit in well? I bet it cant fir into the Q1 body. But can it fit in the normal XTekken, Hoti Soul Calibur V or the Tekken 5 sticks bodies?
The Crown 303-FK is the only Korean stick that compatible with Japanese joystick mounts. The 303-FK would mount anywhere a Sanwa JLF with the flat mount plate would mount.
Something like the Crown 303-N or the Myoungshin Fanta would need a heavy modification to the stick case and perhaps the joystick.
oh yeah sorry, the FK since it is supposed to fit well with sanwa mounts. But will it be too long or wide to fit in any of the sticks I mentioned? I saw a guy had a problem putting the fk in the TE1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K76mnQu3aKY
It’s mount was designed for a Sanwa JLF without the mount plate, so it’s mounting not compatible with the Crown 303-FK without modifying that top panel.
Tekken 5 stick is a POS stick anyways, way below the mark for premium Hori sticks. P.S. The Tekken 5 stick is not a premium stick, despite the main body.
Hori Soul Calibur V
its doable but you run into similar issues as the Mad Catz TE 1.
XTekken
What do you mean XTekken?
Do you mean this? Yeah treat this the same as the TE.
I’ve got two voltechs, neither came with “spacers” to mount the lever at the correct height…so going to the hardware store today.
anyone help me out with what to ask for, just a bunch of washers or something? what size?
also wondering what people use to cut their artwork with, i used an exacto knife but wondering if there’s something better I could use for making circular cuts for the button holes. They turned out pretty bad, especially the pieces of art to put in the buttons
For spacers for joystick mounts here really no one way to approach this
Just get a few washers, rubber or nylon washers work real well but metal washers or even nuts for those bolts as spacers would work too.
As for art work button hole cuts, I use a exacto knife, there are a circular cut tool (I forgot what they are called) in craft and hobby stores that looks like a compass that works terrifically.
What Im thinking of doing with the Tekken 5 stick is using an epoxy with the Kowal universal plate adapter to the 4 flaps for the original stick to go into and then screwing in the sticks to that. I already took out all the parts in it, so the body is bare and I dremeled off the teeth in the button holes.
With usf4 being ps4 bound for evo I was wondering if the ds2 or 3 can work on ps4? Similarly to the xtokki from ds2 to 3. A friend of mine can’t seem to use any other controller, let alone a stick or I’d just padhack him a hfc4 and be done with it.
Would a pcb swap work? I don’t usually mess with pads besides to take em apart and put em in sticks.
Next thing I’m trying to figure out is how to cut my own plexi. I got some small scraps to test on and making straight cuts is pretty straight forward by scoring and then snapping it.
what about making button holes? I searched and it looks like people have used dremels with success. What attachment would I use?
I just ordered a dremel 4000 but have no idea what attachments I need
I have issues with a stuck button on a 360 afterglow controller. I tried opening it up as it just requires a Phillips precision screwdriver but apparently stripped the last screw.
The pad is fine in every other aspect but the A button is stuck. Tried cotton swabbing with rubbing alcohol, but to no avail. Anything else I can do for a fix or am I gonna have resort to drastic measures?
