Absolute Question and Answer Thread v.3 (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

I have a weird ps360+ problem with windows 7.

Sometimes, I’ll notice the inputs are sort of sluggish. For example trying to change directions quickly, but the character keeps moving in one direction and not registering the direction change until quite a bit after I’ve moved the stick. Or if I’m in a menu, trying to move down one spot and it moves 2 or 3 spots. When I notice this, if I look at the devices and printers it says xbox 360 controller instead of the ps360 icon. Unplugging the stick and plugging it back in again causes the icon to change and then it works fine again.

Is there something I’m doing to knock it into xbox 360 mode so I can stop doing that? Is this something that updating the firmware will maybe help? I just got the ps360+ in december of 2014, so maybe it already has the most recent firmware but I don’t honestly know.

thanks!

You need to update the firmware, new or not. Also, I’ve noticed that it comes up as a 360 controller when it’s already plugged in as the pc is being booted up, though that shouldn’t be causing the problem you’re describing.

Thanks for the info!

Why not? No but seriously that is how we alot of our stick mods and customization. Pad Hacks is what we did for older systems prior to the PS360, Cthulhu and the UPCB, which we still do for PS4 and Xbox One sticks.

That is weird especially since PS3 mode has less issues than Xbox 360 mode (its a MS thing).

What game are you running, and are you running anything else on your machine (any programs or background processes, downloads ect)?

Just ordered a grey edition of the PS4 Madcatz grey TE2 from Nippon-Yasan it went out of stock right after but they seem to have the yellow version and the USF4 version aswell. They did not have them in stock this morning.

Is there a button combination or something like that to change between ps3 mode and xbox360 mode or is that just something that it’s supposed to do on its own?

usf4. I can’t think of anything weird that might be running in the background… WoW launcher and curse client, Tera Launcher maybe… alienware bullshit bloatware. I’ll try to remember to shut more of that shit down next time we play. thanks

the computer is never turned off and the stick never gets plugged in until it’s time to play street fighter. (I play another game that flips out if there is a controller plugged in).
I’ll try updating the firmware though, thanks.

look at the forced modes section in that link.

It violates one of the golden rules of dual mods, but is there anyway to do a dual mod where, with ample switches, you only have one PCB drawing power at a time? Less of a dual mod and more two seperate sticks in one, so that you can use it with systems such as the Wii without it killing the battery life.

@Darksakul will probably give you the best answer. I’m not sure on that one.

I might be at a lost here. Then agian PC versions of Street Figther Games are always finicky.

There really isn’t. Having the buttons hooked up to more than one PCB, you will have issues with functionality if they aren’t all powered simultaneously.

Is it important to use a generally accepted and used layout? If so which layout is used in the best sticks like TE2 and Hori? I am designing the case right now.

Layout is a personal preference thing. That said, I’d suggest either noir or veiwlix.

"This layout uses the standard Japanese arcade design, but the proportions are set so the buttons fit together more evenly and closely. The buttons form equilateral triangles and a square. "

Buttons of this one fits perfect for my fingers. But distance between joysticks and buttons seems far, compared to all sticks i saw. Is this okey or should i use a different layout?

That’s fine, you’ll just want to be sure your left palm isn’t hanging off the edge of the case.

So there’s no way to have the buttons only hooked up to one PCB at a time, and essentially cut off the connection to the other PCB?

I don’t see why you would do so.

Just a way to keep it from completely killing the batteries on a Wiimote, which people have talked about being a problem in Wii dualmods in past threads. If it’s not really that much of an issue though it probably wouldn’t be worth the effort.

Just get rechargeable batteries a plenty. Energizer and Duracell galore.

Hi, just got hold of a Hori HRAP EX for my xbox/pc.
Thinking of try my hand to mod it for PS3 so we can bash it out at my friend’s
I have been reading about the PS360+ from akishop and most likely will get it but would like to know

Would it be wise to mod it for PS3 or just get another stick? (I do have a lil extra cash but would like to hang on to one stick if possible)
Also I don’t find any modders where i stay so most probably i’d have to DIY
what would be essential items(PCB,switches, cables) in my cart to make the mod work and any guide out there to help?
Been reading through the 101 thread and all but have not found an actual guide out there for this(might have missed it out)
Will I also need to change the USB cable?
I am totally new to modding but am very interested to start out.
any pointers/links would be greatly appreciated =)
