Absolute Question and Answer Thread v.3 (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

Ls means left stick, dp means d-pad, rs means right stick. The switch toggles between which input signal your stick is sending since there’s only one stick. It’s useful when you need a particular control for certain games or functions in games. Generally, you can just leave it to d-pad for fighting games.
The lock switch prevents turbo or home from being activated, it’s there to prevent accidental presses that would disqualify you in a tournament.

Hello, I’m new to the Tech Talk forum and it’s a pleasure to meet you all.

My question today is regarding my Madcatz Xrd TE2. I’m interested in getting a JLHS Flash1 PCB for it, but I am not certain where to link the 3-pin harness for the power supply. The following pictures are of the PCB inside the Xrd TE2. I’m thinking that the bottom Red Wire in there is what I need to connect the 3-pin harness to. Is it?

I am presuming I have to cut that red wire, link it back together with a connector with the wire from the 3-pin harness linked to them as well. I just want to make sure this exactly what I need to do before I purchase the Flash 1 PCB from Akishop.

Thanks in advanced!

So something Interesting happened today. I was rewiring someone’s stick here locally. And I gave him select plinking on his stick where select is where 4p normally is. Now it worked fine however. If all three punches and select were pressed at the same time. The stick would stop working. It wouldn’t detect any inputs buttons or stick movement.

Is there an answer for this? The PCB being used was the ps360+ it was the 1.2 version of the board

Anybody know if they make/where I can get a pair of 24mm concave buttons with the player 1/player 2 icons?

Paradise Arcade. IL makes them.

I see the regular size on their site, but not the smaller 24mm.

Oh, Yeah. I forgot you said 24mm. Japanese buttons do not come in concave, only flat or convex.

Only American/European style buttons come in Concave.

I would take convex if I have to, just want to find them with the p1/p2 stamps. Some American cabs used 24mm buttons bitd.

I never heard or seen that before, and I seen alot of different arcade parts including the old Atari Volcano buttons

You can try asking Armi or Susaninparadise if they know of what your talking about, who knows they might find the part your looking for.

Hey guys, hope you all are doing fine, I am going to jump straight into the question.
I have had a madcatz TE arcade edition for the xbox 360 all original sanwa parts, for the past year and a half. Recently i have started to notice a problem with the stick. Whenever I hold a direction on the stick it works fine, but as soon as I put the stick to neutral position, the directional input is maintained for almost a second before it stops. For example, i am in training mode and i start moving my character forward, and then stop him/her, the will keep on moving forward a couple of steps before stopping, additionally i believe its having an effect on my special move input as well, like sometimes i have a problem where i am getting shoryukens instead of fireballs etc.

Kindly lemme know soon how to deal with this problem, should i get the whole stick replaced or is it some minor fault that can easily be fixed by opening the stick.

Thanking you in advance.

I just ordered some Seimitsu PS-14-GN-C Screwbuttons for my Mayflash and I need to know what sort of trickery I can use to install them properly since the mayflash uses push buttons by default, is there an after market adapter I can get? Can I just put it in as is with a little bit of carving away at the case? Can I add some frankenstein device to hold it in place inside the rig (the buttons must be removable for future endeavors should i decide to change)
worst comes to worst though, I can use a VERY small amount of apoxy and attach it that way, but I’d like to know anyway.

check the control panel to see if your input accidentally got switched from DP to LS, this happens sometimes and gives the sort of error youre talking about

Also the microswitches could be sticking, you could open and clean the suspected switch with compressed air and/or contact cleaner.

Old mayflash or the new v2?

thanks guys will try

Is it possible to make an RJ45 to I²C cable, so that you could have a Wii stick that uses an RJ45 jack?

I believe the old one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015PHMFU/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1/185-4520291-5423320?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_r=06XAJ9PAE4PXSZWXKVT5&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=1944687582&pf_rd_i=B00NOAWLBE

Hey, Arcade Stick noob here. But what is the purpose of a dust washer? Prevent a buildup of dust around the joystick?

No firsthand experience, but I’ve read that one is a pain in the ass to mod. Do a search for mayflash mods and you’ll find some tutorials.

Keeps dust and crap out of your pivot.
